On Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 10:44pm, officers were dispatched to Hwy 286 southbound around Horne Road in reference to a major traffic crash involving a wrong way driver. 

Officers arrived and found a two-vehicle accident between a blue SUV that was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes and a white passenger car that was struck by the SUV. Medics transported one passenger to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Officers determined that 22-year-old German Hernandez was driving the wrong way on the highway. Hernandez did not display any signs of intoxication. He was ultimately arrested for reckless driving and additionally charged with no driver license. Once he was medically cleared at a local hospital, he was transported to the City Detention Center for booking.
