Police need your help in locating 34 year old David McElheny. David is homeless and is known to hang around the downtown area. David was last seen on or about March 31, 2023. David is 6 feet 2 inches tall and has brown hair and hazel eyes.

You are invited to attend the Corpus Christi Police Department Practice Physical Assessment Test (PAT) on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, for the upcoming CCPD 83rd Police Academy which is projected to begin in September of this year.

The practice test will take place at the Main Police Station located at 321 John Sartain, Corpus Christi, TX 78401. Applicants will meet us at the gated entrance directly across from Whataburger on the Bay (Water Street side of the building).

Check in time will be between 5:00 pm – 5:30 pm, so we can begin promptly at 5:30 pm. During the practice test, instructors will explain and demonstrate each phase of the physical fitness test.

Officers will also be available to answer any questions you have about any phase of the testing and hiring process. Applicants who successfully complete the course will receive a PAT waiver that will be valid for up to 30 days. That means you will only need to pass the written examination on your scheduled test date.

Please report to the test site in physical fitness attire and have your state-issued identification card or driver’s license with you.

Offense: Engage in Organized Crime, Gambling Promotion, Keeping a Gambling Place, and Possession Gambling Device

On March 29, 2023 at 1:52 PM, Investigators with the Narcotics Vice Investigation Division (NVID) along with assistance from the Directed Patrol Officers, executed a search warrant on the 2800 Countiss Dr after a comprehensive investigation. During the search warrant 16 class C misdemeanor citations were issued to individuals gambling inside the location and then released.

The three staff members, 31 year old Jeffrey Arredondo , 46 year old Melinda Cruz, and 51 year old Jessie Yanez were interviewed and arrested for engaging in organized crime, gambling promotion, keeping a gambling place, and possession of gambling devices.

The 53 gambling machines found at this location had their internal hard drives removed and tagged as evidence for prosecution. There was also $14,861 in cash confiscated for possible seizure.

The Corpus Christi Police Department will be hosting a Citizens Police Academy starting May 16th, 2023.

This is a great way to learn about the Corpus Christi Police Department and meet the various divisions of the department. The training will be every Tuesday Evening from 6:30pm to 9:30pm for 10 weeks. During this time, a different specialized unit from within the Police Department will conduct a presentation explaining their mission. An example of some of these presentations will include SWAT, Dive Team, K9 Unit, Internet Crimes against Children, Internal Affairs and Police Stress.

Due to the sensitive nature of the information involved in this Academy, a background check will be conducted on all applicants.
