On Sunday October 26, 2025, at 7:30 am, Officers with the Corpus Christi Police Department were dispatched to the 8600 block of Oso Parkway in reference to an unknown man down.
Medics with the Corpus Christi Fire Department assisted officers on scene and found a male deceased in the brush.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division were called out to the scene to assist. No foul play is suspected.
On Tuesday September 30, 2025, the Corpus Christi Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division obtained a warrant for indecent assault (Texas PC 22.012, Class A Misdemeanor) for Eliseo Martinez. The warrant was obtained in reference to an incident that occurred in the workplace. Martinez turned himself into the Nueces County Sheriff’s Department on the evening of September 30, 2025.
This is currently an active and open investigation. The Corpus Christi Police Department takes all allegations of crime and misconduct seriously and investigates them thoroughly in accordance with applicable laws and department policy.
Martinez is no longer employed with the Corpus Christi Police Department.
UPDATE: The shooting suspect was later transported to the Main Police Station for interviewing.
44-year-old Jeffrey Berger was ultimately arrested and charged with Murder. He was later transported to the city detention center for booking. The involved individuals were all known to each other.
This is an active and ongoing investigation.
ORIGINAL: On October 1, 2025 at 1:05 pm Officers with the Corpus Christi Police Department were dispatched to the 3900 block of Navajo St in reference to a shooting.
When officers arrived, they located a male with a gunshot wound. Officers detained multiple people from inside of the residence.
CCPD’s Criminal Investigations Division was dispatched to the scene due to the nature of the call. After further investigation, it was determined that a disturbance occurred and a weapon was produced.
The male was transported to a local hospital where he later passed away from his injuries.
There is a suspect detained at this time. This an active investigation.

This vehicle was involved in a Hit and Run that occurred last night (Sept. 28) at about 10:00 pm at the intersection of Baldwin Blvd and Ayers St.
This vehicle struck a person in a wheelchair attempting to cross the road and fled the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.

On August 27, 2025, at 5:39 pm, Officers with the Corpus Christi Police Department were dispatched to the 3900 block of Panama Dr in reference to a Drug Possession call.
Officers arrived along with assistance from Narcotics Vice Investigation Divisions (NVID). It was determined that the residents did have access to weapons. It was also confirmed that a 19-year-old female was inside of the location and had an active Warrant of Arrest.
Officers successfully called out the female, as well as an 18-year-old male, after a lengthy period of time.
Both the male and female were charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance PG2, Possession of a Controlled Substance PG3, and Possession of Marijuana. The female was additionally charged with a Warrant of Arrest.
On August 20, 2025, at 6:16 pm, Corpus Christi Police Officers were flagged down at the intersection of Ayers St. and Arlington Dr. in reference to a shooting.
Officers were told by an injured victim, a male exited a nearby store and shot at him. The male suspect then walked across Ayers St. As Officers were speaking to the victim, they could hear shots being fired from across the street.
Officers went across the street and observed a male carrying a handgun. Officers gave the male commands to which he complied. The male was taken into custody without incident.
Two victims were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
During the investigation several victims and witnesses were contacted.
Officers were able to determine the male suspect was previously involved in a disturbance with someone, when he walked out of the store and began to fire his weapon recklessly.
Ernesto Mondragon Jr. (33YOA) was ultimately arrested and charged with 9 counts of Aggravated Assault w/ a Deadly Weapon. He was transported to the City Detention Center for booking.

On Monday July 7, 2025, the Corpus Christi Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division obtained a warrant for indecent assault (Texas PC 22.012, Class A Misdemeanor) for CCPD Officer Steven Moran. The warrant was obtained in reference to an incident that occurred outside of the workplace. Moran turned himself into the Comal County Sheriff’s Department on the evening of July 7, 2025.
This is currently an active and open investigation. The Corpus Christi Police Department takes all allegations of crime and misconduct seriously and investigates them thoroughly in accordance with applicable laws and department policy.
Moran is currently on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation that may lead to disciplinary action up to and including his termination.
ADDITIONAL UPDATE: 40 year old Kimberly Rodriguez has been arrested and charged with Murder in connection to the early morning shooting on Cain Dr.
UPDATE: The suspect in the shooting has been located and taken into custody without incident. They are being transported to the Police Department for an interview. More information to follow.
On July 7, 2025, at 8:05 am Officers were dispatched to the 5000 block of Cain Dr. in reference to a shooting. When officers arrived, they located a male inside of a residence with an apparent gunshot wound.
He was transported to a local hospital where he passed away from his injuries.
The offender left the location prior to police arrival.
Robbery Homicide Detectives were called out to the scene to investigate.
Officers are following up on leads and believe this to be a case of family violence as the parties where known to each other.
