SHOOTING AT 2100 AIRLINE RD

On May 29, 2026, at 3:38 pm Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to the 2100 block of Airline Rd. In reference to a threat in progress call. Additional comments stated a customer was on location threatening other individuals in the store.

When officers arrived, they contacted the male inside of the store. After some dialogue the male refused to cooperate and attempted to flee by running out of the store. A struggle ensued in the parking as officers were attempting to detain the male. While trying to grasp the male’s hands a round went off from a firearm the male was concealing. The male was placed into custody. During the struggle one officer was struck by the round. The officer was transported to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries. 

The male was ultimately transported to the City Detention Center for booking. The suspect was identified as Adan Martinez (26). He was charged with Aggravated assault against a peace officer and resisting arrest w/ a deadly weapon.

There were no other injuries sustained to anyone involved.

This is still on active and ongoing investigation. 

HOMICIDE AT 4600 EVERHART RD.

On May 29, 2026, at 1:41 am, Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to the 4600 block of Everhart Rd. In reference to a stabbing. When officers arrived, they learned two males had been stabbed and were already transported to a local hospital. A short time later one of the males succumbed to his injuries.

Detectives with the Robbery/Homicide unit arrived to assist.

Preliminary investigation indicates a disturbance at an establishment occurred. The individuals were dispersed. Shortly after another disturbance occurred in a nearby parking lot. During that disturbance two males were stabbed.

Several individuals were detained for questioning. It is believed the individuals involved were known to each other.

This is an active investigation and Detectives are following up on leads. No arrests have been made at this time.

HOMICIDE 4500 ANITA DR: UPDATE

Update: On May 28, 2026 Offender Xavier Gonzalez (25) was medically cleared and transported to the city detention center for booking. He is charged with murder and aggravated assaulted with a deadly weapon.

Original: On May 27 2026 at 1:17 am Corpus Christi Police Offices were dispatched to the 4500 block of Anita Dr. in reference to a stabbing.

When officers arrived they located one deceased male and two injured males. The two injured males were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The extent of injuries is unknown at this time.

Robbery Homicide Detectives were called to the scene to assist. Preliminary investigation shows an argument occurred and one male began to assault the other two males with a weapon.

The involved parties are related and were known to each other. This is an isolated incident and an active and ongoing investigation.

ANIMAL CRUELTY AT 3900 FORT WORTH ST.

On Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 3:24 pm, Officers with the Corpus Christi Police Department were dispatched to the 3900 block of Fort Worth St. in reference to a Suspicious Person call. 

Upon arrival, Officers were informed that a male subject had produced a knife and used the weapon to injure an animal. The animal ultimately succumbed to the injuries. The male then left the area on foot towards Hamlin Dr. and Staples St.  Officers located the animal and gave the animal to Animal Care Services. 

The male is described as a Hispanic male with brown hair, unknown age, full sleeve tattoos on both arms as well as tattoos on his neck. He was wearing black pants and a blue shirt.

The Corpus Christi Police Department takes all incidents of animal cruelty seriously. Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division are actively working and investigating this incident. Officers on patrol are actively looking for the suspect.

HELP LOCATE MISSING AT RISK PERSON

The Corpus Christi Police Department is asking for assistance in locating missing person Jesus Villalobos.

21-year-old Jesus Villalobos was recently reported missing today, April 11th. He was last seen yesterday, April 10th, around 10:30 am. He is non-verbal.

Jesus is described as a Hispanic male who is 6’0” tall, weighs 205 pounds, has brown hair and brown eyes. Jesus was last seen wearing a tan hoodie and white shorts.

Shooting- 1900 Secretariat Dr

On February 16, 2026, at 3:00 pm Officers with the Corpus Christi Police Department were dispatched to the 1900 block of Secretariat Dr. in reference to a shooting.

After Officers arrived, they located a male with multiple gunshot wounds and immediately began administering first aid until medics arrived.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division were called to the scene due to the nature of the call. It was determined that a disturbance occurred over services rendered and a weapon was produced.

The male was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Multiple people were detained at the scene and will be transported to Main Station for formal interviews with detectives.

MISSING JUVENILE

UPDATE:

The juvenile has been located and is safe.

The Corpus Christi Police Department is requesting assistance in looking for a missing juvenile. The missing juvenile was last seen around 7:00 am in the 1600 block of Sherman St. 

The juvenile is described as a black female, approximately 4’09” tall, weighing 115 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. The juvenile was last seen wearing a blue shirt, blue jean pants, and a blue pullover zip up hoodie. 

If you see the juvenile or know her location, please call 911 immediately.

OFFICER INVESTIGATION

UPDATE: Haecker has turned himself in to Kendall County.

ORIGINAL: The Corpus Christi Police Department initiated an internal and criminal investigation on Corpus Christi Police Officer Travis Haecker, after receiving a complaint for theft of non city funds. 

Following the investigation, evidence was presented to the Nueces County District Attorney’s Office for review. After evaluating the findings, three warrants of arrest were issued for Haecker. 

Haecker remains outstanding at this time. 

MORE TRAFFIC ARRESTS

The Corpus Christi Police Department continues to combat reckless driving. Over the last 2 evenings several individuals were arrested for either reckless driving or racing.

Downtown Patrol Officers and Violent Crimes Traffic Officers observed these motorists driving recklessly or racing with another vehicle, in various locations such as Water St, Ocean Dr, Shoreline Blvd, and Ennis Joslin.

Jesus Palomo was arrested for racing, possession of marijuana, and unlawful carrying of a weapon. Christian Trevino was also arrested during the same incident for racing.

All vehicles involved were impounded.

OFF-HIGHWAY VEHICLES

The Corpus Christi Police Department would like to remind residents about the rules regarding the operation of off-highway vehicles and golf carts within master planned communities.

• All off-highway vehicles, to include golf carts, must be registered with Nueces County.

• A license plate must be affixed to the rear of the vehicle.

• Operators must possess a valid driver’s license.

• Vehicles are not permitted on roads posted over 35 miles per hour, and must obey all traffic laws.

In addition, in reference to electric scooters: 

• Ensure children are wearing helmets.

• Riders must obey the rules of the roadway and all traffic laws.

• Ride as far the right as possible or on the sidewalk.

These requirements are in place for the safety of everyone in the community. We appreciate your cooperation in helping maintain a safe environment for all residents.
