Texas Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $7500 reward for information leading to the arrest of Javier Morin Jr. He is on the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives list. 11.6.2011/2:51am Driving While Intoxicated Saratoga @ Player 1110060007
Officers were called to the Whataburger reference a female in a truck that was slumped over with her eyes closed, while in the drive thru of Whataburger. Officers arrived, found the lady in the driver’s seat of the vehicle and attempted to wake her and get her to step out of the vehicle. Once she was able to get out of her vehicle for the Officers, they performed several Standardized Field Sobriety Tasks (SFST’s). Officers then arrested Eliza Irigoyen (6.16.1982) for Driving While Intoxicated.
As the Officers were conducting an inventory for the impound of the vehicle, they found several bottles of alcohol within her vehicle along with a cup that had an alcoholic beverage liquid inside of it.
Officers then took Irigoyen to the City Detention Center for further testing and for breath samples. She was released to the Officers at the City Detention Center for booking.
10.5.2011/5:55pm Aggravated Assault 8033 S. Padre Isl Dr. 1110050102
Officers were dispatched for a shooting at Harbour Landing Apartments. As they arrived they located a 20 year old victim with a gunshot wound to his thigh. The victim told Officers that he had been shot by male who was walking by him as he was outside of his apartment. He was transported to Spohn Memorial for treatment to his leg.
Witnesses told Officers that they had heard two shots. Officers on the scene were only able to collect one shell casing. Detectives with the Robbery/Homicide Division were called to process the crime scene. The case is still under investigation.
In an effort to “Keep Corpus Christi Safe” Narcotics Officers, working on a community tip, executed a search warrant at 2750 Lawton around 3:30pm on Wednesday, 10.5.2011
During the search Narcotics/Vice Officers seized 14.47 grams of crack cocaine (2nd Degree Felony) along with 178 assorted pills. Officers also located a stolen handgun that was reported out of Portland Texas. Officers seized $1633.00 in U.S. Currency as well. Officers arrested Michael Coleman (12.13.1989).
The address is located within a Drug Free Zone as it is near Martin Middle School. A Burglary charge is pending further investigation.

10.5.2011/7:44am 4600 Hakel Dr. Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle 111050012
Officers were dispatched for a suspicious vehicle in the area of 4600 Hakel Dr. Callers advised the Dispatch Center that there was a man striking the truck with his hands. Officers arrived and contacted witnesses who stated that the man, had driven up in the truck when it stopped running. The man attempted to restart the vehicle but had no luck. Witnesses said that the man had run down Hakel Dr. Officers inspected the truck and found it to belong to Triple R Motors. Additional Officers went to the location of Triple R Motors and found a crime scene. Officers described the scene of a Burglary and Criminal Mischief as other vehicles had been damaged. The owners of Triple R Motors told the Officers that no one had permission to use the truck that was located on Hakel.
During the investigation on Hakel, witnesses spotted Noe Vela (11.26.1992) and pointed him out to Police as the driver of the stalled truck. Officers made contact with Vela who was in possession of the key belonging to the stranded truck. He was arrested for the Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.
The Auto Theft Task Force will continue to follow-up on the other charges.
10.4.2011/5:22pm Taylor/Shoreline Blvd Warrant of Arrest 1110040092
Jesse Sarmiento (6.16.1966) called into the 911 Dispatch Center stating that he had been robbed. He stated to the dispatcher that he was following the suspects towards the downtown area. Officers were able to get behind the suspect vehicle and made a traffic stop. Once Officers made contact with everyone they heard the rest of the story.
Mr. Sarmiento said that he had dropped some money on the floor of a store in Odem. When he went back to the store to ask about it, the clerk stated that they had given the found money to a lady who was driving away at the time. Mr. Sarmiento followed the lady and two others to an address at Omaha where he confronted them. When the people in the vehicle denied having Mr. Sarmiento’s money, he called Police for assistance. The individuals whom Mr. Sarmiento thought had stolen his money then left towards downtown where they were contacted by Police.
Officers were not able to find the money that Mr. Sarmiento claimed to have lost. What they did find was that Sarmiento was wanted out of Nueces County for Assault Causes Bodily Injury, out of County Court #2. He was arrested for the warrant.
Officers made contact with the San Patricio Sheriff’s Office so that Mr. Sarmiento’s theft case could be reported.
10.3.2011/1:55pm 4717 SPID Fraudulent Use/Poss of Identifying Information 1110030083
Members of the Best Buy management team called Police reference a female who was trying to apply for a job with what they thought was a fake ID. Officers were able to speak to the applicant who claimed that the ID presented to Best Buy was hers and was legitimate.
Officers were able to check the information on the Texas ID card and found it to be for a male out of the Dallas area. The job applicant, Tania Franco (7.13.1980) was arrested. During an inventory of her purse she was found to have two Social Security cards with different names and numbers.
Officers made contact with the Customs Border Protection Office (CBP) who asked to interview Franco. She was taken to the CBP Office and released to their custody.
11.3.2011/11:19pm 4700 Holly Reckless Driving/Poss of Marijuana/Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon 1110030148
An Officer, running radar on Holly Road, saw a vehicle that was traveling at a high rate of speed as it was traveling West on Holly. The radar showed the speed of the vehicle to be 106 miles per hour (mph). The speed limit in the area is posted at 40 mph.
The Officer was able to make the traffic stop as the vehicle slowed to just under 90 mph as it got closer to the patrol unit. Once stopped, the driver was arrested for Reckless Driving.
During the inventory of the vehicle, prior to impoundment, Officers found some marijuana and a loaded handgun. The driver, Justin Perez (8.12.1992), was arrested.
An alert patrol officer stopped Cosme Zapata(10-15-67) outside the Stripes store on Nueces Bay after the officer observed Zapata acting suspiciously. The Officer had observed Zapata walking through the field adjacent to the store, but Zapata stopped when he saw the patrol car. When the Officer drove around the store, Zapata again began to walk away from the area where the Officer was parked. The Officer finally contacted Zapata, who quickly told the Officer that he had marijuana in his pocket. Zapata then retrieved the marijuana from his pants pocket and handed it to the Officer. When the Officer attempted to arrest Zapata for the marijuana, Zapata became upset and resisted. Zapata fought with the officer for a brief moment and then was handcuffed. He was found to have an outstanding warrant for probation violation as well.
Zapata was arrested for the Marijuana, warrant and Resisting Arrest.
5:45pm/9.15.2011 1610 Mestina Poss of Controlled Substance/Poss of Marijuana 1109150092
Narcotics Officers executed a search warrant @ 1610 Mestina (one block from City Hall). During the search Officers recovered a quantity of crack cocaine, powder cocaine and $1432 in US Currency.
Arrested at the scene were Sylvia Firo (4.13.78), Richard Hernandez (8.10.78) and Frank Martinez (5.8.87)
