Corpus Christi Police Detectives are asking the public’s assistance in identifying two individuals involved in the burglary of Wencar, Incorporated on November 29, 2013.

The two men can be seen on video surveillance cameras filling up two bags with cartons of cigarettes.  It is estimated over $25,000 worth of cigarette cartons were stolen by the two men.

Corpus Christi Police Detectives are asking the public’s assistance in identifying two males involved in a credit card abuse investigation.  Two men accompanied by a teenager used the victim’s stolen credit card information to make a couple of purchases at a local Wal-Mart.

The first suspect is a slim Hispanic male in his mid-20’s to mid-30’s and standing 5’5” to 5’9” feet tall.  He can be seen on video surveillance wearing a white pullover, white pants, black tennis shoes and a white cap.  The suspect is  accompanied by a young Hispanic juvenile approximately eight to twelve years of age.  The juvenile was wearing a gray tank top, checkered shorts and black shoes with red socks.

The second suspect is a Black male, in his early to late 20’s and standing six feet tall.  He can be seen wearing a black pullover over a yellow t-shirt, black pants, and black shoes with red shoe strings.

Homicide Detectives Solve 7th Street Murder

The Corpus Christi Police Department are investigating a suspicious death at 1529 Seventh Street #3 that was discovered by the Corpus Christi Fire Department on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 7:16am.

Corpus Christi Fire Fighters responded to a structure fire and discovered the deceased body of a 21-year-old man inside the home.  The young man’s death was ruled a homicide.

Homicide Supervisor, Lt. Kelly Isaacks stated, “I’m proud to say the only remaining unsolved homicide of 2012 was cleared yesterday by Detective T.K. Revis”.

Matthew Sean Grier (11/25/80) has been charged in the December 19, 2012, murder of Michael Andrew Martinez.  Grier’s bond is set at $150,000.  Grier is currently incarcerated in TDCJ-Byrd Unit on unrelated charges.

Patrick Mark Brailey, 29, was fatally injured Saturday, December 15, 2012 after a disturbance at the  Smokin Waves Lounge at 505 S. Water Street.  Further investigation revealed, a man at the gathering walked away from the crowd and discharged a firearm in the direction of the crowd, striking Brailey.  He would later die from his injury at Spohn Memorial.

Homicide/Robbery Detective Ralph Lee worked persistently on the homicide investigation and was able to obtain a murder warrant for Bacilio Rudy Hernandez (09/01/77) when he was positively identified as the shooter.

Hernandez who is a known gang member was arrested by Gang Unit Officers on December 3, 2013 at 418 Hiawatha.  He was booked at the City Detention Center and charged with Murder.  His bond is set at $1,000,000.

New Year, New Ride! Join us for our Monthly Auction

On Saturday, January 4, 2014, a total of 109 cars, trucks, and motorcycles will be auctioned at the Corpus Christi Police Department Vehicle Impound Lot located at 5485 Greenwood Drive during our monthly auction. The site has four paved acres for an auction lot.

Approximately 39 of these vehicles are “No Insurance” impounds. On Friday, January 3, 2014, the general public will be allowed to register and view the vehicles to be auctioned from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. There is no registration fee.

On the day of the auction, the general public can continue to register and view the vehicles from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The auction will commence promptly at 10:00 a.m. on January 5, 2014.   The vehicles to be auctioned can be viewed at www.siskauction.com. An auction list may also be downloaded from the same website.

The department’s strong stand and enforcement of this “Zero Tolerance No Insurance Initiative” will continue and all vehicles involved in accidents will be impounded and the driver cited if they are unable to provide financial proof of insurance. Driver’s license and proof of financial responsibility checkpoints will continue to be conducted at the Shift Captains’ authorization.

During December 2013, Officers issued 439 citations for Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility and impounded 76 vehicles for the same charge.  In 2013, a total of 7,114 citations for Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility were issued and 1,036 vehicles were impounded for the same charge.

Corpus Christi Police Auto Theft Detectives are asking the public’s assistance to help identify an auto burglar who took several tools from a Chevrolet pickup truck.

The suspect can be seen driving up to the truck and removing the item the items from the toolbox.

Texas Parking & Transportation Association Roundtable Comes to Corpus Christi

On Monday, December 2nd the Corpus Christi Police Department is sponsoring a Texas Parking & Transportation Association Parking Professionals Roundtable in Corpus Christi, TX at American Bank Center from 10:00 AM – 2:30 PM.

The Roundtable offers three sessions with parking industry experts speaking on Revitalization and the Dilemmas of Parking in Downtowns, ‘Green’ Parking Technology and Private-Public Partnerships, as well as networking opportunities during the catered lunch. The TPTA hosts an annual Convention & Tradeshow as well as three Roundtables that are held throughout Texas and usually offered in larger cities such as Houston, San Antonio, Austin and Dallas-Fort Worth.

The TPTA is a parking industry association representing municipal, airport, university and private owned parking entities and programs throughout Texas, as well as technology and equipment vendors and various city transit systems.

The Police Department worked with the TPTA, Corpus Christi Convention Bureau, American Bank Center and the city’s Parking Advisory Committee in organizing the event. Preregistered attendees included numerous local organizations from municipal, airport, university and private owned and managed parking programs, as well attendees from organizations in Houston, Austin and San Antonio.

The Roundtable also brings in vendors that can assist all of these entities in technology, equipment, design and consulting services.

 

Help Locate Missing North Carolina Teens

Corpus Christi Police are assisting the Edenton Police Department in locating missing 19-year-old Robert Lee Bunch aka Rob Bunch.  Bunch is in the company of a 16-year-old friend, Nicholas Beaman aka Nick Beaman and headed to our city.

Both teens are in a black 2002 Hyundai with North Carolina license plates.  At this time, the Edenton Police Department believes there is no foul play involved, but the parents are very concerned for their safety.   The young men’s family would like them home for the Thanksgiving Holidays.

Wanted Man Turns Himself In

RyantEdgeorgeConnellyOfficers responded to an accident in the 1300 block of IH 37 SB involving a gray Audi and a blue Toyota Cruiser.  The driver of the Audi, Ryant Edgeorge Connelly (07/13/92) was traveling northbound in the southbound lane of travel. The Audi struck the Cruiser head-on.  Both Connelly and the 47-year-old woman driver of the Toyota were taken to Spohn Memorial with serious injuries.

Connelly was released at the hospital due to his injuries, but a Blood Warrant was obtained and a Blood Specimen taken from Connelly.

On Friday, November 22, 2013, Traffic Safety Investigator Marc Harrod was able to obtain a warrant for Connelly when the toxicology report results were received.

On November 25, 2013, at 11:31am, Connelly turned himself in to the Nueces County Sheriff’s Office Jail Facilities.  Connelly was charged with the outstanding warrant for Intoxicated Assault with a Vehicle ~ Severe Body Injury, a 3rd Degree Felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.   His bond was set at $30,000.
