Do You Know These Thieves???

 

Occurred on 6/2/12, 9:15 p.m.  Burglary   5453 FM 624   12003320

Nueces County Precinct 5 Constable’s Office and the Corpus Christi Police Department are asking the public’s assistance in identifying three individuals involved in the burglary of the Times Market located at 5453 Farm to Market Road 624. Officers contacted the owner who reported the office door lock had been removed and several thousand dollars taken from a cabinet.

Store surveillance video shows two men and a woman working in conjunction with one another to commit the burglary.  One of the men and the woman distract the clerk, while the other man walks to the office, removes the lock and begins to stuff money in his blue jeans and socks.

All three then leave the store at the same time.  The first suspect is described as a White male wearing blue jeans, a Texas t-shirt, and a bandana on his head.  The second suspect is described as a thin White male with a moustache and goatee.  He was last seen wearing khaki shorts, a black t-shirt, a black cap, and tennis shoes.  The third suspect is described as a thin White female wearing blue jeans and a black t-shirt.

Elderly Man Attacked Over Rent Dispute

Occurred on 6/4/12 5:24 p.m.  Robbery  1235 Second St.  1206040125 

A 67-year-old man told Officers he was late paying his rent and a roommate’s friend threatened to cut off a finger per day until it was paid as they shopped at a local department store.  The suspect then chest bumped the victim and threatened to kill him.  The victim told the suspect Gregory Springer aka Eric Springer (10/22/93) he would pay his rent once he received his settlement and they returned home. 

The victim said he was shaving when Springer, a friend of his roommate’s grabbed him from behind and placed him in a chokehold.  Springer then used a knife and held it against the victim’s arm.  He demanded the victim’s car keys and cell phone.  The victim passed out and his car keys along with his phone were missing when he regained consciousness.  Springer finally returned the keys and phone after a trip to a nearby convenience store.  It was then the victim was able to leave and call police. 

According to the victim, his roommate was not involved in the robbery and kept telling the suspect to return the car keys and phone.  The suspect was found at 1235 2nd Street and taken to the victim’s location where he was positively identified.  Springer was arrested and charged with Aggravated Robbery and Terroristic Threats.  His bond was set at $25,000 for the Aggravated Robbery and $500 for the Terroristic Threats.

Victim of Robbery Wakes Up in Cemetery

Occurred on 6/4/12, 9:30 pm  Robbery  400 Ashland    1206040165 

Officers contacted the 22-year-old victim who reported he had been robbed, but was unable to remember any details other being downtown.  The victim was suffering from a facial and head trauma.  He told Officers his money had been taken out of his wallet. The victim was taken to Spohn Memorial by CCFD Emergency Personnel.    

Further investigation revealed, the victim had been found inside one of the Chapels at Seaside Memorial Cemetery and asked to leave by security.  Shortly thereafter, the victim asked for help and the police were called.  

It appeared the victim was intoxicated and unable to provide Officers with any suspect information.  The Police Department encourages anyone with information on this crime to call 888-TIPS or submit a tip online at www.888TIPS.com.  Tips that lead to the arrest of the suspect can receive cash rewards up to a $1,000.

Disabled Employee Assaulted When He Tries to Stop Beer Run

Occurred on 6/2/12, 10:24 pm  Aggravated Robbery  3033 S. Port  1206020151/1206020155 

Officers responded to the H.E.B. on Port Avenue for a fight in progress.  Upon their arrival  they contacted the store’s loss prevention officer who reported observing Eric Longoria (09/29/84) attempt to walk out of the store with a loaded grocery cart filled with  beer and wine. The loss prevention officer who is disabled tried to stop Longoria by blocking his path with his wheelchair.  A witness took the cart away from Longoria and returned it inside the store.  Longoria retaliated by punching the loss prevention officer in the jaw as he sat in his wheelchair.

A store customer who observed the assault told Longoria he should not have hit the victim as he was only doing his job.  The customer then walked away and was punched in the back of the head and face.  The customer tackled Longoria and the fight was on.  Longoria who was bleeding from his face and nose fled the store, but was later apprehended by Lt. D. Garcia as walked on Sarita and Tarlton Streets.   He was returned to the H.E.B. where he was positively identified and arrested. 

Longoria became very combative, cursing and spitting at Officers.  He was taken to Spohn Memorial for medical clearance for injuries he had received in a fight prior to his arrest.  While being treated, Longoria kicked another Officer in the knee and threatened his safety.  Longoria was charged with Aggravated Robbery, Assault on a Public Servant, and Retaliation.

The loss prevention officer was treated at the scene minor injuries sustained in the assault.  The unidentified customer left the store after Longoria fled.  The stolen cart full of beer and wine was recovered.  The total value of the alcohol was $111.

Pregnant Shoplifter Makes Getaway, Runs Over Three Store Employees

Occurred on 06/02/12, 4:42 pm  Aggravated Assault/Theft  1821 SPID  1206020098 

Several Officers were dispatched to the Wal-Mart parking lot at 1821 S. Padre Island Drive for a traffic accident involving several pedestrians being struck.  Upon their arrival, Officers observed a large crowd by the front entrance parking area.  While conducting their preliminary investigation, it was discovered a shoplifter escaped from the loss prevention office and was chased as she ran to her car.  The suspect who appeared to be pregnant was accompanied by her small child. 

Store employees caught up to the shoplifter as she entered her vehicle. They attempted to persuade her out of the car, but she refused to exit the vehicle.  The suspect reversed her car and struck three store employees with the open driver’s side door as she made her getaway.  The employees were dragged for a short distance and finally knocked to the ground.  The driver then struck a parked black GMC Yukon and a blue Chevrolet Tahoe as she fled northbound through the parking lot. The third vehicle hit was a black Suzuki Forenza driven by a 32-year-old female who was accompanied by her two passengers.  She along with a 30-year-old man claimed minor injuries, while her 10-year-old son was uninjured.  Two of three store employees run over were taken to Spohn Memorial with non-life threatening injuries. 

The shoplifter was able to escape and fled southbound through the parking lot in a white Dodge Caliber or Magnum station wagon.  She is described as a pregnant Hispanic female, 20 to 30 years of age and having black hair.  She was last seen wearing a short-sleeved blouse and blue jeans.   Approximately $300 of store merchandise was recovered by loss prevention officers.

11-Year-Old Steals Dad’s Truck and Crashes into Fire Hydrant

Occurred on 6/4/12, 12:03 a.m.  Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle/Evading  West Point/Greenwood   1206040002 

An Officer called in a hazardous motorist driving a black truck with its headlights turned off, while simultaneously another Officer was handling a call in which the 11-year-old daughter had stolen the father’s black Ford F-150 pick-up truck.  A B.O.L.O. (Be On the Lookout) was issued for the truck, believed to be related to both calls for service. 

Officers responded to the area and the truck was located in the Times Market parking lot at West Point and Greenwood. The driver upon seeing the Officer spun out of the parking lot and  drove off at a high rate of speed.  The Officer followed the truck and attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the driver continued on.  The pursuit was terminated, but Officers continued to follow the truck at a safe distance. 

Officers observed the driver run the red light at Greenwood and S. Padre Island Drive.  She continued southbound on Greenwood until she turned westbound onto Saratoga Boulevard.  The driver turned onto Calle Cuernavaca too fast and lost control of the truck.  The F-150 left the roadway and struck a fire hydrant.  The driver exited the truck and attempted to walk off. 

The 11-year-old driver was detained and became upset when told she would be placed in police custody.   She continued to show her displeasure at being detained by kicking the doors of the police car.  She was medically cleared at Driscoll Children’s Hospital and taken to the Nueces County Juvenile Justice Center where she was booked for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Evading in a Motor Vehicle.

Father and Son Team Catch Car Burglar

Occurred on 6/3/12, 2:52 am Burglary of a Vehicle 3300 Lynnwood  1206030032 

A man reported to Officers he walked outside to roll up the windows of his Nissan Xterra and found two men inside.  The men fled when the victim yelled at them.  The victim accompanied by his father went in search of the men.  They were able to detain one of the men and called police. 

Shortly thereafter, an Officer located the second man, Lawson Bowie Price (01/03/92) as he ran into Lexington Manor Apartments.   Price who was wearing a t-shirt with “Lil Sneak” matched the description given of the second suspect. 

Zavion Hall (10/26/90) was found with stolen property taken from another auto burglary victim in the 5200 block of Lamp Post. Hall and Price were arrested and charged with two counts of Burglary of a Vehicle. Price was additionally charged with Criminal Trespass as he had been banned from the complex.

SWAT Call Out Ends Peacefully

Occurred on 6/2/12, 2:42 am  Aggravated Assaulty with a Deadly Weapon  3600 Topeka   1206020037

On June 2, 2012, at approximately 2:42 a.m. Officers with the Corpus Christi Police Department responded to the 3600 block of Topeka for a 911 call.  The 22-year-old caller stated she had been assaulted by her father Willie D. Morrison (05/20/70) who then barricaded himself inside the residence, possibly armed with a firearm. 

Upon their arrival, Officers contacted family members outside the residence who told them they returned home from an evening out when a confrontation escalated. A struggle ensued after Morrison pulled a firearm. Morrison’s 25-year-old son sustained a laceration to his elbow as he wrestled the gun from his father and hid it.   Family members believed Morrison’s wife was inside the home with him, but it was later discovered she was able to safely leave the residence.

The police department’s Hostage Negotiation Team and SWAT teams were called for assistance.  Officers attempted to negotiate with Morrison who refused to comply.  Officers were able to unlock the back door and negotiate with Morrison who was eventually convinced to give up.  He was taken into custody and arrested.  Morrison was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

There were no injuries reported to CCPD Officers or CCFD Emergency Personnel.  Morrison’s son refused to be taken to the hospital for stitches needed for his elbow.

Wienerschnitzel Employee Robbed at Gunpoint

Occurred on 5/31/12, 10:23 p.m.  Aggravated Robbery  3555 SPID   1205310163 

A Wiernerschnitzel restaurant employee reported she was robbed at gunpoint by a White dressed in a blue hoodie.  The gunman demanded money from the employees who complied with his demands.  The robber fled on foot with an undetermined amount of money.  The employees were uninjured.

The robber is described as a tall thin White male, 20 to 24 years of age, 5’10” to 5’11” feet tall, and weighing 140 to 160 lbs.  He was last seen wearing a blue Hoodie with emblems on each side of the zippers.

Truck Flips Upside Down in Collision, Three Injured

Occurred on 5/31/12, 10:14 pm  Driving While Intoxicated  7200 SPID  C1204179/1206010001                                                                                                                    

A blue Chevrolet pick-up truck traveling eastbound in the 7200 block of S. Padre Island Drive ran the red light at Rodd Field Road and rear ended a white Saturn Outlook.  The truck bounced off the car and flipped upside down. 

The 54-year-old driver of the Saturn had minor injuries and treated by CCFD Emergency Personnel. The 22-year-old driver sustained a laceration to the head and taken to Spohn Memorial along with his 26-year-old passenger who was slightly injured.  

CCFD Medics turned over a plastic bag containing Marijuana which fell out of the 22-year-old driver’s pocket.  A glass pipe was also found in a pant pocket.  Due to his injuries, the driver of the truck was not arrested, but could face charges of Driving While Intoxicated and Possession of Marijuana.
