Corpus Christi Police responded to a vehicle crash at the 10300 block of Interstate Highway 37 Wednesday morning. Officers learned that a 21-year-old man fell asleep while driving and struck the concrete divider with his purple 2006 Chevrolet Impala. The 21-year-old man and his 18-year-old man passenger were both taken to the hospital by ambulance for treatment of non life-threatening injuries. The vehicle was towed due to damage and no other vehicle or property was involved.

Corpus Christi Police recovered a stolen vehicle at a hotel at 9401 South Padre Island Drive Tuesday. The Corpus Christi Police received information that a man sold stolen goods from a stolen vehicle and went to a motel on the 9400 block of South Padre Island Drive. A Corpus Christi Police Officer saw a man run from black 2006 Ford F-250 parked in the parking lot once the Officer was in the man’s view. The Officer discovered the F-250 was reported stolen out of Rockport earlier this month. The Officer recovered the stolen vehicle and did not locate the man who ran. Officers believe they know the identity of the man who ran and will continue to investigate this offense.

Corpus Christi Police arrested two people Tuesday morning for a burglary at a vacant house on the 1600 block of Green Grove Drive. Corpus Christi Police responded to a complaint of two people who went into a vacant house at 10:00 Tuesday morning. Officers investigated and found 47-year-old Laura Hernandez (10/19/1966) and 37-year-old Byron Bell (4/11/1976) inside the vacant home. Neither Hernandez nor Bell knew the owner of the home or had permission to be inside. The Officer arrested Hernandez and Bell for burglary of a building and then transported them to the city detention center.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a disturbance at the home at 5:22pm and discovered Hart had contraband. Officers discovered Hart had substances which the Officers believe to be marijuana, heroin, and prescription medication not prescribed to Hart. The Officers arrested Hart and delivered him to the city detention center.

The 31-year-old woman told Officers she told the man that there was no money in the register, and the man left walking toward Middlecoff. The 31-year-old woman described the suspect to Officers as a man with dark skin, about 30 years of age, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, about 160 pounds, and wore a red “Roca Wear” hoodie, blue jeans, and had a light beard.

Officers arrived and learned that Farr attempted to cash a check that was reported stolen from a burglary the previous day at 505 South Water Street. Officers arrested Farr for forgery and then delivered him to the city detention center.

The Officer told Moeller to extinguish the fire and then discovered Moeller had warrants for his arrest for nonpayment of child support. Corpus Christi Police responded to a vehicle crash which involved a pedestrian at 12:28am Saturday. Officers learned a 47-year-old man was changing a tire and was struck by a gold 2005 Nissan Altima. The Altima continued to travel on the Interstate, but was followed by a witness until Corpus Christi Police responded. Corpus Christi Police arrested the operator of the Altima, 41-year-old Villarreal, and took him to the hospital for a medical evaluation and then delivered him to the city detention center. The 47-year-old man was taken to the hospital by ambulance with non life-threatening injuries.

Corpus Christi Police discovered a 30-year-old man accidentally shot himself in the leg while he sat in his vehicle. The 30-year-old man was taken to the hospital for treatment of his non life-threatening injury. Officers learned the 30-year-old man is a convicted felon and prohibited from possession of a firearm, so the Officers generated a criminal complaint for unlawful possession of a firearm. The 30-year-old man remained in the hospital for treatment.

Corpus Christi Police arrested 17-year-old Nathan Morales (7/31/1996) for burglary of a vehicle Saturday morning at an apartment complex located at 4645 Ocean Drive. A Corpus Christi Police Officer noticed Morales near the apartment complex at 4:15am. The Officer chose to stop the vehicle and walk through the parking lot of the apartment complex. The Officer then saw Morales and an 18-year-old man pull on the door handles to unoccupied vehicles in the parking lot. Officers stopped the two men and discovered stolen property with Morales. The 18-year-old man was released while investigation continues. Officers had enough evidence to arrest Morales for Burglary of a Vehicle and then they delivered Morales to the city detention center.

The 29-year-old man described the suspect to Officers as a man about 30 years of age with medium brown skin, about 6 feet tall, and about 185 pounds. The 29-year-old man told Officers the suspect said nothing and has no idea why the man attacked.

A 30-year-old man reported his work truck stolen from a hotel parking lot at 5142 Oakhurst Drive Friday night to the Corpus Christi Police. The 30-year-old man told Officers he went outside and saw two unknown men in his white 2000 Ford F-450 work truck and the truck left the parking lot without permission. A Corpus Christi Police Officer saw the truck on North Padre Island Drive near Bear Lane and conducted a traffic stop. The driver of the truck exited the vehicle and ran. The Officer arrested the passenger, 29-year-old Felix Garza (5/9/1984) for unauthorized use of a vehicle. An other Corpus Christi Police Officer chased and arrested the driver, 33-year-old Armando Cruz (3/11/1980) for unauthorized use of a vehicle. Officers then delivered Garza and Cruz to the city detention center and the vehicle was returned to the 30-year-old man.

Corpus Christi Police arrested 33-year-old Joel Pineda (8/26/1980) for aggravated assault and criminal mischief at the 2900 block of Mansheim Boulevard Sunday. Corpus Christi Police responded to a vehicle crash in which a blue 2007 Yamaha motorcycle operated by a 27-year-old man was struck by a white 2007 Ford Focus at about noon on Sunday. Witnesses told Officers that Pineda got out of the Focus and assaulted the 27-year-old man. Officers learned the 27-year-old man and Pineda know one another. Witnesses told Officers Pineda intentionally struck the motorcycle with the Focus and then Officers arrested Pineda for aggravated assault. The 27-year-old man was taken to the hospital by ambulance for treatment of non life-threatening injuries. Officers impounded the Focus and delivered Pineda to the city detention center.

The 40-year-old man told Officers the truck then reversed and struck his parked black 2013 Ford Expedition. The 40-year-old man told Officers the truck then sped away. The 40-year-old man told Officers he does not know the man who hit him or caused the damage to his vehicle.

Officers found Thompson and discovered she had a warrant for her arrest for burglary. Officers arrested Thompson and delivered her to the city detention center.

The 38 year old man told Officers the damage was caused by an unknown person who threw rocks at the windows. The 38 year old man later told Officers he learned who was responsible for the criminal mischief because he found a cell phone in his driveway that was dropped by the suspect. The 38 year old man told Officers the owner of the phone called the phone and the 38 year old man answered and had a conversation which resulted in the 38 year old man identifying the suspect in this case.

The 21-year-old man told Officers he was assaulted at a nearby gentleman’s club and his attackers brought the 21-year-old man to Williams Drive to assault him a second time and then take his wallet. The 21-year-old man only described his attackers to Officers as several males with medium brown skin.

Corpus Christi Police arrested 49-year-old Robert Skinner (9/18/1964) for driving while intoxicated at the 4900 block of Kitchens Street Tuesday. Corpus Christi Police responded to a vehicle crash at the intersection of Kostoryz Road and Norton Street 7:58pm after a black 2011 Chevrolet Silverado struck a blue 2004 Chevrolet Aveo. The 27-year-old woman driver of the Aveo and her 16-year-old girl passenger were not injured in the crash. The Silverado drove away from the crash scene before law enforcement arrived. A Corpus Christi Police Officers saw the damaged Silverado on the 2900 block of Kitchens Street and arrested the driver, Skinner, for driving while intoxicated. The truck was impounded and the Officer delivered Skinner to the city detention center.

A 59-year-old man reported a burglary to a restaurant located at 4901 Greenwood Drive to the Corpus Christi Police Monday. The 59-year-old man told Officers that an unknown person pried open a back door to enter the building without permission while the building was unoccupied overnight and then the person stole about $600 dollars worth of food items.

A 21-year-old man made a shoplifting complaint to the Corpus Christi Police Department at a store located at 6101 Saratoga Boulevard Monday evening. The 21-year-old man told Officers he is a loss prevention employee of the store and he saw an unknown man load a television valued at about $1,000 dollars into a cart and then had a child push the cart out of the store into the parking lot. The 21-year-old man told Officers he confronted the man and the child about the theft which prompted the man and the child to get into a white Ford Expedition and leave the television behind. The 21-year-old man provided the license plate number of the Expedition to Officers. Officers searched the area and located the Expedition unoccupied and then the Officers impounded the Expedition.

A 26-year-old man reported a burglary to his home on the 4200 block of Cottage Street to the Corpus Christi Police Monday. The 26-year-old man told Officers he arrived at his home at about 1:17pm and found an unknown man in his home. The 26-year-old man told Officers the unknown man ran out the house and fled the area in a white pickup truck. The 26-year-old man told Officers the front door to his home was broken open and the contents inside his home were ransacked. The 26-year-old man described the suspect to Officers as a light skin male about 25 years of age, about 6 feet tall, about 250 pounds and wore a blue jacket with a collar, white polo shirt, a navy blue ball cap, jeans, and a goatee.

A 28-year-old woman reported a burglary to her home located on the 4500 block of Helen Street to the Corpus Christi Police Monday. The 28-year-old woman told Officers she came home at about 1:45pm and discovered damage to the front door to her home and the contents of her home were ransacked. The 28-year-old woman told Officers a neighbor noticed an unfamiliar white GMC pickup parked near the house before the 28-year-old woman arrived home. The 28-year-old woman was not sure what was missing by the time of the Officers report.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer recovered a stolen vehicle on the 3000 block of South Port Avenue Monday. A Corpus Christi Police Officer saw a green 2000 Mazda car driven on the 3000 block of South Port Avenue which the Officer recognized as a vehicle that had been reported stolen from Corpus Christi on Saturday. The Officer arrested a 23-year-old man and took a 16-year-old boy into custody who were inside the vehicle. The Officer delivered 23-year-old Michael Garza (9/27/1990) to the city detention center and then delivered the 16-year-old boy to the Nueces County Juvenile Detention Center. The vehicle was taken to the city impound.
