Offense: Burglary Of A Vehicle
(PC30.04 Class A Misdemeanor)
Case Number: 1411100103
Corpus Christi Police responded to a business located in the 10700 block of Leopard St. for a burglary to a vehicle and witnesses following the suspect on foot. Officers contacted a FedEx driver who said he was making a delivery at an apartment complex when a male in a leather jacket ran up to him yelling that two males were chasing him. The two males approached and told the driver to hold onto the male because he had just burglarized a vehicle. The suspect male then tried to press on the gas pedal on the Fed Ex truck, and that is when the driver took the offender to the ground and held him until officers arrived.
Upon investigation officers found that the suspect male had entered a 2008 Dodge Ram truck that was parked at a business located at 11020 Leopard St. through the passenger side door. A witness and the owner of the truck then chased the suspect until he was caught by the Fed Ex driver.
Officers arrested Randall McBurnett (07/04/1989) for burglary to a vehicle, and also found him to have several outstanding arrest warrants. The warrants were for obstructing police, taking a weapon from an officer, and two warrants for assault on public servant. The 55 year old male victim reported that the suspect did not have time to take anything from his truck but he did leave the front interior area in disarray as he rifled through the center console.
