Recovered Stolen Vehicle

Date: Thursday April 21, 2022, 9:30 am
Location: 900 Shoreline
Charges: Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle & Possession of a Controlled Substance
Case Number: 2204210038

On April 21, 2022, the Corpus Christi Police Department Auto Theft Task Force responded to the 2600 block of Hospital Blvd regarding a vehicle that had been stolen earlier at the 900 block of Shoreline. The stolen vehicle was located by an observant patrol officer patrolling his beat.

When the detectives arrived, they located the stolen vehicle and were able to affect a traffic stop when the offender, 26-year-old Dillon Mohn, got in the vehicle and drove away.

When Dillon was arrested the officers’ located narcotics in his possession, and he was additionally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance in addition to the Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.

At the initial report of the stolen vehicle the victim told the officer that there had been a shot gun in the vehicle when it was stolen. The detectives were able to determine the location of the shotgun and retrieve it for the victim.

Aggravated Robbery Arrest

On April 12, 2022, at 4:04 pm officers were dispatched to the 13400 block of Leopard for an Aggravated Robbery.

Lt. Lance Tagle arrived and upon speaking to the victim found that he had offered to pay for the offender’s bus ticket. When the victim pulled out his wallet the offender, 45-year-old Charles Busby, grabbed the victim’s wallet and fled on foot. The victim chased Charles Busby who then turn on the victim and displayed a knife. The victim stopped chasing the offender and called the Police Department to report the crime. Lt. L. Tagle found Charles Busby close by and placed him into custody. Among the items in Charles Busby’s possession was the wallet with money and the knife displayed.  

Charles Busby was transported to the City Detention Center for booking on the charge of Aggravated Robbery.

South Port Homicide suspect arrested

On Monday April 11, 2022, at 7:45 am officers were dispatched to the 3700 block of South Port in reference to a shooting.

When the officers arrived, they found a 46-year-old victim in the apartment with a gunshot wound and immediately began CPR until Corpus Christi Fire Department paramedics arrived. The victim was transported by CCFD to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division Robbery Homicide Section responded and quickly began to investigate. During the investigation the detectives were able to identify the offender as 30-year-old Manuel Fernandez III. The detectives were able to secure a warrant of arrest for Capital Murder with a $950,000.00 Bond.

On Tuesday April 12, 2022, at 11:51 am officers were dispatched to the 3700 block of Port in reference to a disturbance between a male and a female. When the officers arrived, they contacted Manuel Fernandez III and placed him into custody for the outstanding warrant of arrest.

Manuel Fernandez was transported to the City Detention Center for booking on the charge of Capital Murder.

Spring Break 2022

With Spring Break 2022 upon us, the Corpus Christi Police Department has a few reminders for our community and visitors to our wonderful city.

Be sure to pack some patience as traffic can be congested as you attempt to make your way to the beach. The Corpus Christi Police Department will have additional officers patrolling the beach along with additional traffic officers patrolling the roadways.

When you arrive on the beach here are some simple rules you must follow.
-No glass containers are allowed on the beach.
-Alcohol consumption is allowed so long as you are of age.
-The speed limit on the beach is 15 mph and all traffic laws apply including Driving While Intoxicated.
-You must purchase a parking permit to park on the beach.
-No dogs on the beach from Access Rd 3 to Zahn Road on the North side of the Packery Channel.
-No wood pallets can be used to build a fire and fire pits can only be 3x3x3.

We hope that everyone has a safe and enjoyable Spring Break 2022.
