Shooting Leads to City’s Latest Homicide

Location: 200 Blevins St.
Offense: Murder

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to 200 Blevins St. in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival they discovered that a 45 year old female and a 26 year old female had been shot. Both females were immediately transported to Spohn Shoreline for treatment. Detectives were advised later that the 45 year old female died from her injuries.

Detectives are still investigating and advised that there was a disturbance at the residence involving the two females, who are mother and daughter, at some point during the disturbance the shooting occurred and both females were shot. Detectives interviewed witness and at this time have enough probable cause to charge the 26 year old female with murder. Once she is released from the hospital she will be booked into the City Detention Center.

Corpus Christi Police Detectives need your help identifying this suspected burglar. Officers responded to the address and contacted the owners who advised that their garage had been burglarized. They advised that a Yeti cooler, cordless drill and a shop fan had been taken. Detectives investigated and found that the items had been taken to a local pawn shop. Detectives were able to obtain video and need your help identifying the male in the video. The male in the video is between 5′ 9″ and 5′ 11″ tall, thin build wearing a black jacket and grey ball cap. The suspect at the time of the video had facial hair.

Patrol Report March 28, 2018

Date: March 27, 2018 4:49 P.M.
Location: Mustang Trail and S. Staples
Offense: Accident Involving Injury or Death
Case Number: 1803270113

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to the area of S. Staples and Mustang Trail for a crash involving pedestrians. Officers arrived and found that a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed ran a red light and struck two teenaged females in the crosswalk. The suspect, driving a sliver Jeep, briefly stopped in the area and then fled the scene. A witness at the scene was able to get a license plate number, vehicle description and a suspect description. A 16 year old female died at the scene and the 15 year old female was transported to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Officers followed up on the information that was provided to them by the witness. They went to the area of 4100 Tarpon Place and located the suspect vehicle and the suspect. Officers took the 42 year old male suspect into custody and transported him to a hospital for treatment. Once cleared officers arrested Elton Wayne Holmes Jr. (12-19-1975) and transported him to the City Detention Center.

Offense: Aggravated Robbery

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to La Palmera Mall in reference to a robbery. Officers arrived and made contact with the employees. The employees advised that 4 suspects, wearing dark clothing and masks came into the store. Two suspects broke the display counters and the other two with guns ordered the employees to the ground. The suspects fled the scene in a red pickup truck. A witness told officers that he saw the suspects enter the truck and flee the scene. Officers were advised that a Constable had found the suspect vehicle unoccupied on Mt. Vernon St. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects.

Police Need your Help Identifying a Vehicle of Interest

Corpus Christi Police Detectives need your help identifying a vehicle of interest in an attempted kidnapping incident. Officers contacted a school crossing guard in the area of Hampshire and Lantana. The crossing guard was with a 11 year old female who was crying and visibly upset. The female victim advised when she was at the bus stop at Villa and Leopard a dark skinned male in a white passenger car called to her from the vehicle. The victims bus arrived and the suspect left. The victim advised while she was on the bus she noticed the suspects car was following the bus. When the victim exited the bus in the area of Lantana and Leopard the same suspect tried to make contact with her and motioned for her to get in his car. The victim ran away and made contact with the crossing guard who then contacted the police.

Offense: Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Corban Dr. in reference to a disturbance with injuries. Officers were advised by dispatch that the male involved possibly had a gun and the female involved had a knife. Officers arrived and contacted the 27 year old male outside of the apartment. Officers detained the male and made contact with the 31 year old female victim. The victim advised that the suspect became upset after she disciplined her son. She advised that the suspect pushed her down to the ground. The victim advised that she got up and pushed the suspect out the front door. The victim advised that the male pulled a handgun from his waistband and pointed it at her. The suspect then re-entered the apartment, pushed her down to the ground and began choking her. The victim stated that she had a hard time breathing but was able to brandish a knife and get free of the suspects grip. Officers spoke to a 12 year old female that was inside the residence and verified the victims story. Officers located the gun under some household items inside the residence. Officers arrested Michael Joel Hull (06-12-1990) for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. A search incident was conducted and officers found a pill bottle not belonging to the suspect with a mixture of pills in it. He was additionally charged and transported to the City Detention Center.

Offense: UUMV, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Fraudulent use and Possession of Identifying Information

Corpus Christi Police Officers were following up on information in the 10900 block of Mayfield Dr. The information was in reference to a suspect that had been stealing cars and committing theft in the area. The suspect was also suppose to be in a white stolen Ford pick up. Officers arrived and observed a white Ford pick up in the driveway. As officers approached they observed a suspect asleep in the drivers seat. Officers gave several commands for the suspect to open the door. The suspect refused and the officers broke a window and unlocked the door. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. Officers investigated and found the LP on the truck did not belong to it and the truck had been reported stolen. Officers located what they believed to be methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Officers arrested Kurt Clyde Solis (01-05-1990) and during a search incident to arrest found various ID cards and a debit card that did not belong to him in his back pocket. Officers transported Kurt Solis to the City Detention Center.

Offense: Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to 9800 SPID in reference to a stabbing. Upon arrival officers contacted the 57 year old male victim. The victim was bleeding from his back and handed the officers a large kitchen knife. The victim told officers that the 64 year old female suspect became upset during an argument and stabbed him. The victim stated that he arrived home about 30 minutes prior to the call and began drinking with the suspect. He stated that the suspect began arguing for no reason and confronted him in the living room. The argument escalated and the suspect went to the kitchen, got a knife and stabbed the victim. The victim was able to get the knife from the suspect. Officers made contact with the suspect and arrested her without incident. Officers transported Lucinda Finley (09-16-1953) to the City Detention Center. The victim was treated at the scene for a non-life threatening injury.

Suspicious Death leads to Murder Arrest.

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to 5900 Saratoga Blvd at Spohn South Hospital in reference to a deceased 24 year old female with bruising to her body. Officers arrived and made contact with the 26 year old male suspect. Detectives arrived and took over the investigation. The suspect was transported to the main police station where he was interviewed and released. Detectives received the autopsy report and developed enough probable cause to have a murder warrant issued. On Sunday February 4, 2018 officers in San Patricio County arrested Steven Urias (03-30-1991) for the murder warrant and transported him to the San Patricio County Jail. This is still an ongoing investigation and there is no further information at this time.

Update on Recent Shootings

Offense: Aggravated Assault

Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to a shots fired call in the 6400 block of Weber Rd. Numerous calls were made to the police department stating that multiple shots were fired. As officers were en route to the call they were redirected to 6600 Everhart in reference to a shooting victim. Officers arrived and discovered that a 20 year old female had been shot in the head. Medics arrived and transported her to Spohn Shoreline Hospital where she is still in critical condition. Officers investigated and found that the female had been shot at 6400 Weber Rd. Officers are still investigating and are following leads in the case which include a person of interest.

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to 300 Parr St. in reference to a shooting. Officers arrived and contacted witnesses. Officers were informed by witnesses that they heard a gunshot and observed a suspect leave the residence and head South on Parr. A witness went inside the residence and located a 20 year old male victim who was deceased from an apparent gunshot. Detectives were called to the scene to investigate. Officers received information that a suspect was seen running into a warehouse in the 200 block of N. 19th St. Officers went to the warehouse and located the suspect. Officers transported the suspect to the main police station for questioning. Officers arrested Jesse Casiano (07-05-1986) for murder and transported him to the City Detention Center.

Corpus Christi Police Detectives need your help identifying this robbery suspect. On December 29, 2017 at approximately 9:10 PM a male suspect entered the store. The employees were behind the counter when the suspect approached them with a gun and demanded money. The employees gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash who then fled the scene. The suspect was wearing a brown jacket, blue jeans, black gloves and a black mask.

On January 14, 2018 at 8:11 PM detectives believe the same suspect entered the store at 1600 S. Port, displayed a handgun and went behind the counter demanding money. The clerk was not able to open the cash register and the suspect left the store. Approximately 15 minutes later the same suspect entered a store on the 3700 block of Leopard. The suspect went behind the counter with his weapon and started grabbing money from the employee. A brief struggle ensued and the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. The employee was not injured.

Detectives need your help identifying these suspected burglars

Corpus Christi Police Detectives need your help identifying these two suspected burglars. Officers were called to the 5500 block of Holly Rd. in reference to a burglary of a storage unit. Officers arrived and contacted the victim who told officers that her storage unit had been burglarized. She told officers that the lock had been cut and items were taken. Officers also were notified that several other storage units had been burglarized. Officers looked at the video and observed two males entering the property. One of the males was wearing torn jeans, a dark colored hoodie and carrying bolt cutters. The other male was wearing a brown jacket, blue jeans and white tennis shoes. The were driving a 4 door truck, possibly a Ford F-150.

CITY HOSTS VEHICLE AUCTION THIS SATURDAY

The City of Corpus Christi will auction 109cars, trucks, and motorcycles at the Police Vehicle Impound Lot, located at 5485 Greenwood Drive, on Saturday, January 6, 2018.  The auction will start at 10:00 a.m.

Impound Auction

The general public is encouraged to register and view the vehicles for auction from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Friday, January 5, 2018.  The general public can continue to view the vehicles from 8:00 am to 10:00 am on the day of the auction.

The vehicles for auction may be viewed online and an auction list may be downloaded from www.amtauctions.com.
