Patrol Report September 25, 2017

Location: 4101 Brett St.
Offense: Aggravated Assault, Burglary of a Habitation, Evading Arrest, Interfering with an emergency call
Case Number: 1709230013

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to 4101 Bret St. in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival officers observed a male (later Identified as the suspect) run and get in a red vehicle with another male (the victim) chasing him. The suspect, with the car door open, put the vehicle in reverse and pinned the 21 year old male victim between two cars. The victim fell to the ground  and the suspect fled the scene. Officers chased the suspect with their emergency equipment on. The suspect continued and turned on to 4000 Terrace Cir. The suspect tried to turn around and drive away, striking a tree and flipping the vehicle on its roof. Officers detained the 22 year old suspect until medics arrived and transported him to Spohn Shoreline for treatment.

Other officers arrived at the scene and spoke with the male victim and a 21 year old female victim. The female victim advised the suspect was her ex-boyfriend and she was out with her boyfriend when she started receiving texts from the suspect. The victims went back to her apartment. When she arrived she observed the suspects vehicle. When the victim went to her apartment she went in side and observed the suspect sitting on her bed with the TV on. The victim was surprised because she did not know how the suspect found her apartment and he did not have permission to be there. The female victim discovered that the suspect had kicked the door in to her apartment. As the female was telling the suspect to leave the male victim entered the apartment where he was rushed the suspect and the two began fighting. Officers observed the apartment to be in disarray, several large hole in the dry wall and the front door damaged from when it had been kicked in. The female attempted to call 911 at which point the suspect knocked the phone out of her hand. She got another phone and called 911. The suspect then ran out of the apartment and hit the male victim with his car and flee the scene. The male victim was treated at the scene. Officers arrested Erik Cavazos (08-12-1995) and transported him to the City Detention Center.

Offense: Aggravated Assault, Fleeing From a police officer

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to 5818 S. Staples (Tabu Lounge) in reference to a fight with weapons. Officers arrived an observed a black truck fleeing the scene at a high rate of speed. Officers put out it out over the radio that the truck might be involved. Officers contacted the 27 year old female victim who was rolling around on the ground. Numerous witnesses advised that she was hit by the black truck that fled the scene. During the chaos of the scene officers noticed a male that was bleeding from the head. Officers spoke to the 47 year old male victim. He advised that there was a large fight that broke out inside the bar. The fight then moved outside into the parking lot. The male victim was trying to break up the fight when he was hit in the back of the head with a bottle. Witnesses advised that suspect that hit the male victim was the same  suspect that was driving the truck. Medics came to the scene and treated the victims for non-life threatening injuries.

As officers were responding to 5818 S. Staples other officers were in the area and located the black truck. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle continued with the officers behind the vehicle with their lights and sirens activated. The vehicle continued and went through several streets before coming to a stop at 5200 Blanche Moore. The suspect was detained at the scene. One witness inside the truck stated that the suspect got into an altercation inside Tabu. They left and the suspect drove off all crazy, according to the witness. Officers transported the suspect back to the crime scene where he was positively identified by witnesses. Officers arrested Jorge Solis (05-08-1978) and transported him to the City Detention Center.

Location: 602 N. Staples
Offense: Endangering a Child, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Public Intoxication

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to 602 N. Staples at the RTA bus station in reference to a possible overdose. Officers arrived and contacted the bus and bus driver and observed a female who appeared unconscious but breathing. CCFD Medics arrived on the scene. As they were treating the 25 year old female, she was not able to stand by herself, she would go in and out of consciousness and was having a hard time keeping her head up or balance while sitting. As officers were trying to identify they female they found in her possession what they believed to be crack cocaine. She was transported to Spohn Shoreline for treatment. The female was travelling with her 1 year old son and was being held by a 31 year old male. The male had slurred speech, red eyes, he had trouble walking and would nod off as medics and officers spoke to him. The male attempted to change the child’s diaper and nodded off. Officers believed the male was intoxicated, a danger to himself and a danger to the child. Officers arrested Martin Lopez Garcia Jr. (08-04-1986) and transported him to the City Detention Center. Child Protective Services arrived on the scene and the child was released to a family member. Officers were called to Spohn Shoreline when the female was released from the hospital. Officers arrested Arielle Spears (12-28-1991) and transported her to the City Detention Center.

Location: 3000 Santa Ana St.
Offense: Assault Family Violence, Resisting Arrest

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to the area of 3000 Santa Ana St. in reference to a disturbance with a weapon. Officers arrived and made contact with the 26 year old male victim. He told officers that he and the wife had been fighting and he had put her in the shower. The victim advised that she (his wife) had come with cuts and scrapes all over after a night out with her friends. As he attempted to put her in the shower to clean her up, she became violent and punch him in the face. That is when the victim called police for assistance. Officers made contact with the female. She was intoxicated and very evasive about what had happened tonight. Officers arrested Demi Trevino (06-07-1994) for assault family violence. As officers were escorting her to the unit she attempted to pull away in an effort to talk with her husband. The suspect then began kicking and struggling with offices. She was placed in the unit where she began to spit and bang her head on the cage. She was transported to the City Detention Center.

 

Patrol Report September 19, 2017

Offense: Assault, Warrants of Arrest

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to the area of 9401 SPID in reference to a disturbance. Officers arrived and could hear a female screaming for help from one of the rooms. As the officer got closer to the room he could hear a female screaming “Help” and “Stop you are going to kill me.” Officers knocked loudly on the door and announced their presence. Nobody came to the door and the female called out to the officers to help her. Due to the nature of the call officers kicked in the door. As officers entered the room they observed the 32 year old male on top of the 47 year old female on the bed. Officers observed blood on the victims face and shirt. Even after officers entered the room the suspect continued to hold the victim down. Officers pulled the suspect off the victim, placed handcuffs on him and detained him in a patrol unit.

The victim advised that the suspect came home and was upset because the window was open in the motel room. She stated that the suspect began accusing her of cheating on him. The victim said that she tried to talk with the suspect and that he grabbed her and threw her on the bed. The victim stated that he began hitting her in the face. The victim stated that the suspect began to bite her. Officers observed bite marks to her arms and her lower lip and chin. Officers arrested Henry Waters (12-09-1984) and transported him to the City Detention Center. He was also found to have warrants for his arrest out of Nueces County.

Offense: Abandoning/Endangering a Child with the Intent to Return, Possession of a Controlled Substance

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to 546 SPID in reference to an abandoned child. Officers arrived and made contact with the 29 year old female witness. The witness advised that the suspect left her child at the hotel in her possession. The witness advised that she did not know the suspect personally and only knew her first name. She was concerned for the welfare of the child because the suspect was intoxicated. The victim stated she believed that the suspect was intoxicated because when she left the suspect ran into a parked vehicle while exiting the parking lot. The witness stated that the suspect left with a friend and gave no explanation of who would be caring for the child. Officers contacted the 6 year old female and she seemed to be unharmed and in good health. Officers went to the parking lot and observed a vehicle with paint transfer on the bumper.

While officers were investigating the 25 year old female suspect arrived back at the hotel. The suspect was unable to name the person she left her child with. During the investigation officers found the suspect to be intoxicated and not able to properly care for the child. Child Protective Services arrived at the scene to investigate. Officers arrested Stephanie Lozano (11-04-1991) and transported her to the City Detention Center. The 6 year old was released to her grandmother. While at the City Detention Center Stephanie was found to be in possession of a small clear baggie with 5 pills. She was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Offense: Assault Family Violence

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to the area of 2800 Blake St. in reference to a assault in progress. Officers arrived and contacted the 58 year old male victim and the 18 year old male suspect. As officers contacted the suspect in the kitchen, they observed a kitchen knife sticking out of his front pocket. Offices had the family exit the house and began talking with the suspect. Offices were able to talk the suspect down to his knees and safely remove the knife. The suspect was detained as officers continued their investigation. The victim advised that the suspect, his son, was mad and started yelling at him and his sister. The victim advised he was sitting on the couch when the suspect walked over and began yelling at him. The suspect made a fist as if he was going to punch the victim. The suspects mother got in between the two. As the victim was getting up the suspect grabbed the victims right index finger and twisted it causing it to break and the bone to stick out of the finger. Medics were called and the victim refused to be transported. Instead he reset his finger and was taken to the hospital by a family member. Officers arrested Carlos Trevino (12-28-1998) and transported him to the City Detention Center.

Location: Painter Drive and S. Port Ave.
Offense: Evading arrest in a vehicle, evading arrest (on foot), Unlawfully carrying a weapon, 3 warrants of arrest

Officers were patrolling in the area of SH 286 access and Horne Rd. when they observed a vehicle stopped partially in the intersection and the driver using his phone. Officers attempted to make a traffic stop for the violations when the suspect driver attempted to elude the officers. The suspect drove until he came to a stop at Brandywine Ct. The suspect exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers gave chase and caught the suspect when he slipped and fell. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. Officers discovered a .380 handgun in the floorboard of the suspect vehicle. The suspect was also found to have three Nueces County warrants for Dangerous Drugs, a motion to revoke probation and driving while license invalid. Officers transported Anthony Perryman (02-20-1985) to the City Detention Center.

Location: 3900 Ayers.
Offense: Burglary, Evading Arrest
Case Number: 1709180024

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to 3900 Ayers (Arcadia Village) in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival officers observed the front doors to be smashed in at two of the businesses. While officers were on scene investigating another officer was in the area and observed two males walking South on Norton from Ayers. Both subjects had backpacks and were in the area of a recent burglary. As the officer attempted to make contact, both suspects dropped the backpacks and fled on foot. The suspects ran back towards Ayers and then split up. One suspect (16 year old male) ran into La Armada and was taken into custody. The other suspect ran towards Ayers and Fannin and jumped a fence. Other officers arrived and found the suspect hiding in a open garage in the 100 block of Fannin. The suspects were transported back to the scene and the backpacks were collected. The business owners arrived and were able to identify items that the suspects took from their stores. Officers observed blood on the door of one of the businesses. The 16 year old male suspect had cuts to the back of his hands and legs. He was arrested and transported to the Nueces County Juvenile Justice Center. Officers arrested Ryan Martinez (02-12-2000) and transported him to the City Detention Center.

Corpus Christi Police Detectives need your help identifying this suspect. Police were called to 3220 S. Port at T-Mobile in reference to a criminal mischief. The victim told officers that a male threw a rock at the business breaking a window. The victim showed officers the video of the incident. The video shows a male pick up a object, walk up to the business and throw it. The suspect then walks away. The suspect is wearing dark shoes with red lacing, black socks, shorts, a light colored bleached shirt and possibly a rag or handkerchief tied around his head.

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to the area of 400 Troy Drive in reference to a suspicious person wearing a pink shirt and no shoes. Upon arrival officers observed the 31 year old female suspect (wearing a pink shirt and no shoes) at the residence and the front door to be open. Officers made contact with the suspect and discovered that she had a key to the residence. The officers also noticed that a key lockbox had been forced open and the bottom half was by her feet. The suspect was detained and the owner of the residence contacted. The owner advised that he did not know the suspect and she had no permission to be there. The owner also advised that someone had moved things around in the house. Officers arrested Tanisha Perez (05-14-1986) and transported her to the City Detention Center.

Location: Everhart Road and Williams Drive
Offense: Driving While Intoxicated with a Child, Poss. of Dangerous Drugs

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to the area of Everhart Rd. and Williams Dr. for a pedestrian in the roadway. The call advised that a female stopped her car in the middle of the road and was trying to flag down passing motorists. Officers arrived and contacted the 49 year old female standing out side her car. The female was excited, speaking with slurred speech, was unsteady on her feet and had an odor of alcohol coming from her breath. The female ran out of gas and was trying to get help. While officers were investigating they observed a 2 year old female and a 4 year old male in the backseat. The children were not in car seats and were not wearing seatbelts. Officers located the children’s mother. The mother stated that she was a passenger in the car and had gone into a store to get juice when the female driver drove off with her children. Officers arrested Belinda Johnson (10-26-1967) for DWI with a child. During the location officers found the suspect to have pills and synthetic cannabinoids. Belinda was transported to the City Detention Center. The children were released to their mother.

Offense: Burglary

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to the area 5700 Leopard (Dollar General Store) in reference to a burglary alarm. Upon arrival officers observed the front sliding glass door to be broken and a large rock outside the door. Officers checked the building but located no one inside. As officers were checking around the building they located a witness. He stated he was asleep when the audible alarm woke him up. The witness stated he observed a light colored full sized SUV leaving the business turning on Leopard. The information was put out over the radio. An officer on patrol stopped a vehicle matching the description in the area of Leopard and Lantana. The officer contacted and identified the occupants of the vehicle. They were released a short time later.

The store manager arrived and reviewed the security footage. The video showed the suspect entering the store and going behind the cash register. The suspect tries and fails to open the locked cigarette case. The suspect then goes to the beauty isle and grabs between 12-15 bottles of shampoo and leaves the store. The officer that stopped the SUV reviewed the footage and was able to verify that suspect was in the vehicle he stopped earlier. The vehicle and suspect information was put out over the radio.  At approximately 3:24 AM officers located the suspect vehicle in the area of 25th and Buford. Officers contacted, identified and arrested Sedric Luckerson (11-29-1978). Officers located shampoo in the SUV as well as pieces of broken glass in the floorboard of the vehicle. The vehicle was impounded and Sedric was transported to the City Detention Center.

Offense: Assault Causing Bodily Injury

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to the 11800 Chamizal St. in reference to a disturbance in progress. As officers were en route, the call was upgraded to an assault. Officers arrived and contacted the 48 year old female victim who was visibly upset and scared. The 48 year old male suspect was present and watching the victim load her property into her car. Officers spoke with the victim who advised that she and the suspect recently separated after living together for 7 months. She advised that they had an agreement for her to pick up her property but she rushed over to the residence when she saw a Facebook post stating that her belongings were up for sale. The victim stated she was in the process of loading her property when the suspect slapped her in the back of the head and on the left side of her neck. Officers observed red marks on her neck. Officers arrested David M. Hess (04-03-1969) and transported him to the City Detention Center.

Offense: Driving While Intoxicated

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to the area of SPID and Weber in reference to a wrong way driver. As officers were en route an off duty CCPD officer called in a single vehicle accident at 3300 SPID that matched the description of the wrong way driver. Officers arrived and observed the suspect vehicle (2017 silver Toyota Tundra) disabled in the middle of the access road. The 45 year old male suspect was contacted by officers. The officers observed that the suspect had urinated on himself, was swaying back and forth, his speech was slurred and officers detected an odor of alcohol on his breath. Officers performed sobriety tests and developed enough probable cause to arrest Rodney Crisp (08-24-1972) for DWI. Rodney was transported to the City Detention Center.

Corpus Christi Police Department detectives need your help identifying this aggravated robbery suspect. The suspect was seen entering and going to the rear of the store. He appears to wait for other customers to leave and then goes to the counter. The suspect pulls a pistol and demands the money in the register. The suspect takes the cash and exits the store heading towards SH 286. The suspect is described as a 20-29 year old male wearing a black Jordan Hoodie, black Jordan shorts, a black ball cap and black and white Jordan shoes. He also had tear drop tattoos near both his left and right eyes.

City to Host Auction This Saturday

The City of Corpus Christi will auction 108 cars, trucks, and motorcycles at the Police Vehicle Impound Lot, located at 5485 Greenwood Drive, on Saturday, September 9, 2017.  The auction will start at 10:00 a.m.

The general public is encouraged to register and view the vehicles for auction from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Friday, September 8, 2017. The general public can continue to view the vehicles from 8:00 am to 10:00 am on the day of the auction.

The vehicles for auction may be viewed online and an auction list may be downloaded from www.amtauctions.com.

Corpus Christi Police Detectives need your help identifying this alleged burglar. Officers were called to the scene when the reporting party found a broken window. Officers cleared the building and observed a room with drawers open and items stacked on the floor. Video was provided and shows a male entering the property. The video then shows the suspect leaving the property through a rear door.

Disturbance at a local bar leads to city’s latest homicide, Suspect Arrested

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to the 2300 Block of Horne Rd. in reference to a disturbance with a gun. Moments later the call was upgraded to a shooting. Officers arrived and observed the 38 year old male victim face down in the parking lot and was deceased. Officers contacted witness and checked the scene and were able to get a basic description of the suspect and the vehicle that he left in.

Officers learned that a disturbance began in the bar. The suspect and the victim went outside into the parking lot and that is when the suspect shot the victim. The suspect left the scene in a dark colored car. While officers were actively working the scene a subject entered the crime scene and was contacted by officers. The subject told officers that he was the one who shot the victim. The suspect was detained and a weapon was recovered. Officers arrested Jehova Gonzalez (05/23/1988) and transported him to the City Detention Center.
