Patrol Report 11/04/2014

The Corpus Christi Police Department generated 212 reports for formal criminal complaints from midnight November 3 to 7:00 a.m. on November 4, 2014. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

Case Number: 1411040008
Corpus Christi Police responded to a burglary in progress of a vehicle at a motel located at 10446 Interstate Highway 37. Officers arrived and found Patrick Wade (05/01/1986) in the bed of a 2011 Chevrolet truck that was parked in the parking lot.

The suspect was seen by officers trying to pry open the tool box of the truck. When officers attempted to identify the suspect, he gave a false name. The 54 year old owner of the truck was located and said that nothing had been taken.

The suspect was finally positively identified and found to have a parole warrant for robbery. He was arrested for the outstanding warrant, and additionally charged with burglary of a vehicle and fail to identify, both Class A misdemeanors.

Patrol Report 10/22/2014

The Corpus Christi Police Department generated 198 reports for formal criminal complaints from midnight October 21 to 7:00 a.m. on October 22, 2014. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a bomb threat at the state parole office located at 5233 Interstate Highway 37. When officers arrived a female who works in the office told police that she answered the phone and a female caller stated she had exited the building and had overheard two males say there was a bomb in the building. The female caller would not give any more information. The number which the female suspect called from returned to a payphone at 5175 Interstate Highway 37, the Exxon gas station, which is located nearby. The office building was evacuated for a short time while officers searched for any suspicious items.  Workers were allowed to return a short time later.

Patrol Report October 21, 2014

Corpus Christi Police responded to the Wal-Mart Store located at 3829 Highway 77 to assist store employees regarding a theft. When they arrived officers saw Melissa Gutierrez (08/22/1971) struggling with a loss prevention employee in the parking lot. Store employees had seen the female putting items in her purse and then leave the store without paying. When officers approached, the female broke off the struggle with the employee and took off running through the parking lot. Officers were able to catch up with the female and she began to resist. After a short struggle she was arrested, and charged with theft, a Class B misdemeanor, evading arrest on foot and resisting arrest both Class A misdemeanors.

Patrol Report October 17, 2014

A 47 year old male called Corpus Christi Police after he said an ex-boyfriend tried to hit him with a car while he was in the front yard of his home located in the 4100 block of Teresa St. The man said he had to jump out of the way so the vehicle would not hit him. The suspect had driven by the victim’s house a couple of times before that yelling and swearing at the man while he was outside doing yard work. Other officers responding to the call, found the suspect, Clifford Courville (11/14/1966) in his 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt near the location and arrested him for aggravated assault, a first degree felony.  His vehicle was impounded.

A 26 year old female victim called Corpus Christi Police and reported that a 9mm Glock handgun that she placed in the center console of her 2013 Ford F150 truck was stolen. The victim said she is not sure when the gun was taken and that she only noticed it was missing earlier in the day. No forced entry to the truck was observed and the victim believes she may have left her truck doors unlocked.

Patrol Report October 14, 2014

Offense: Assault on a Public Servant

Case Number: 1410130076
Corpus Christi Police were dispatched to the 900 block of Parkwood Place for a burglary to a vehicle that had just occurred. When officers arrived on Parkwood Place, witnesses there told them that the suspect who had broken into the car was at a home located in the 6000 block of Skyline Drive. When two officers approached the male suspect who was hiding outside of the home between two cars, they were attacked by the suspect. Both officers were hit in the face a couple of times by the suspect, and they all fell into a wooden fence, breaking several planks of wood. Officers were finally able to gain control of the suspect and arrest him.  Both officers received bumps, scrapes and bruises, and one officer was taken to Spohn Memorial for an injury to his knee and an elevated heart rate and blood pressure. The 25 year old male suspect was arrested and he also was admitted to the hospital for injuries. The suspect is facing two counts of assault on a peace officer, a third degree felony once he is medically cleared from the hospital. Officers are also investigating his involvement into the burglary to the vehicle that was parked on Parkwood Place.

Suspects Break Into Business And Take Tools

Offense: Burglary of a Building           (PC 30.02 State Jail Felony)

An employee of the 4 Season’s Equipment located at 430 South Padre Island Drive reported that the front doors of the business had been pried open.

Camera surveillance from the property shows two males driving a dark full size Dodge 4 door truck, pull into the parking lot, get out and look inside the front door with flashlights. They are then scene going to the side of the building and one of the men takes a rock and throws it at the camera that is recording them until it breaks. The suspects then pry the front doors of the business open and enter the showroom area. While inside the suspects steal grass trimmers, chain saws and a laptop computer. The estimated total dollar amount stolen was over $2,700 worth of property.

Both suspects appear to between twenty to thirty years old. One of the males is about 5’8” to 5’10” tall and weighs about 180 pounds wearing a button down shirt, cap, and cargo shorts. The second suspect appears to be 5’6” to 5’8” tall weighing about 170 pounds.  He is wearing a cap, black t-shirt and cargo shorts.

Patrol Report October 13, 2014

Offense: Theft of a Motor Vehicle                                      (PC 31.07       State Jail Felony)
Case Number: 141013002
A 63 year old man called Corpus Christi Police after he pulled into a gas station to fill up and his truck was stolen.
The victim stated he was low on gas and parked his 1992 Ford F150 truck at the gas pump and walked into the Snappy Food Store located at 5626 Leopard St. to pay and when he walked out his truck was gone.  The man said his truck was turned off, and that he had the keys in his pocket.
About twenty minutes later officers found the stolen truck parked at the gas pumps of a Stripes Store located at 3238 Buddy Lawrence.  A witness at that store told officers that he had helped the driver push the truck to the gas pumps because it had run out of gas.
The suspect is described by the witness as a young Hispanic male in his twenties about 5` 7″ tall with tattoos on both arms and near his right eye.  He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and red shorts.
The truck was returned to the owner, and officers are still investigating this case.

Patrol Report October 8, 2014

Corpus Christi Police responded to a call about a vehicle that had driven off the boat ramp at Labonte Park and into the Nueces River. A 24 year old male told officers he was attempting to harm himself when he drove his 1983 Ford truck into the river.  When the truck began to submerge the man got out. Officers were unable to see the truck after it sank in the river.  The Corpus Christi Police Dive team will attempt to remove the vehicle sometime later today. The man was taken to a hospital for an evaluation.

Corpus Christi Police are investigating a burglary to the Bill Bode County Building located at 11408 Leopard St. Office workers arrived to find several doors that had been pried open and office desks ransacked. A safe was removed from a locked closet and taken to another office and pried open. It appears as though suspects made entry into the build through the front door.  At this time officers are still investigating this case and no suspects have been arrested.
