(PC 22.02 First Degree Felony) Case Number: 1410160068 A 47 year old male called Corpus Christi Police after he said an ex-boyfriend tried to hit him with a car while he was in the front yard of his home located in the 4100 block of Teresa St. The man said he had to jump out of the way so the vehicle would not hit him. The suspect had driven by the victim’s house a couple of times before that yelling and swearing at the man while he was outside doing yard work. Other officers responding to the call, found the suspect, Clifford Courville (11/14/1966) in his 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt near the location and arrested him for aggravated assault, a first degree felony. His vehicle was impounded.

Offense: Aggravated Assault
(PC22.02 Second Degree Felony) Case Number: 1410160009 Corpus Christi Police responded to the report of a stabbing in the parking lot of Zero’s Bar located at 6327 McArdle Rd. Officers arrived and did not find a victim or an offender but did locate a crime scene consisting of blood splatter on the gravel parking lot in front of the bar. While officers were still investigating this, a call came in from a 42 year old man who said he had been involved in a fight at Zero’s Bar and that he had stabbed someone in the leg. The man was now at his home located in the 1200 block of Mendoza St. Officers responded to his home and gathered his information and collected the knife that was used. At this time there has been no victim come forward or show up at any of the hospitals reporting a stabbing. The man was identified and released and officers will continue to investigate this case.

(PC 30.04 Class A Misdemeanor) Case Number: 1410140088 A 26 year old female victim called Corpus Christi Police and reported that a 9mm Glock handgun that she placed in the center console of her 2013 Ford F150 truck was stolen. The victim said she is not sure when the gun was taken and that she only noticed it was missing earlier in the day. No forced entry to the truck was observed and the victim believes she may have left her truck doors unlocked.

Offense: Assault on a Public Servant
(PC 22.01 Third Degree Felony) Case Number: 1410130076 Corpus Christi Police were dispatched to the 900 block of Parkwood Place for a burglary to a vehicle that had just occurred. When officers arrived on Parkwood Place, witnesses there told them that the suspect who had broken into the car was at a home located in the 6000 block of Skyline Drive. When two officers approached the male suspect who was hiding outside of the home between two cars, they were attacked by the suspect. Both officers were hit in the face a couple of times by the suspect, and they all fell into a wooden fence, breaking several planks of wood. Officers were finally able to gain control of the suspect and arrest him. Both officers received bumps, scrapes and bruises, and one officer was taken to Spohn Memorial for an injury to his knee and an elevated heart rate and blood pressure. The 25 year old male suspect was arrested and he also was admitted to the hospital for injuries. The suspect is facing two counts of assault on a peace officer, a third degree felony once he is medically cleared from the hospital. Officers are also investigating his involvement into the burglary to the vehicle that was parked on Parkwood Place.

“Bravo” District Date: 10/08/2014 8:40 PM Location: 1100 Barton Street
Offense: Aggravated Assault (PC 22.02 Second Degree Felony) Case Number: 1410080137 Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to a stabbing at a home located in the 1100 block of Barton St. A 42 year old male victim told officers that he was upset with another man for shining a flashlight in his face. The victim said that the man then stabbed his truck tire causing it to go flat. After this occurred the victim confronted the man and a fight ensued in the grass near the street. During the fight the man pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim once in his left leg. The victim was transported to Spohn Memorial Medical Center by CCFD EMS. Officers were able to recover the knife, and arrested Joshua Chambless (10/19/1983), for aggravated assault, a second degree felony.

Offense: Vehicle in the River Case Number: 1410070153 Corpus Christi Police responded to a call about a vehicle that had driven off the boat ramp at Labonte Park and into the Nueces River. A 24 year old male told officers he was attempting to harm himself when he drove his 1983 Ford truck into the river. When the truck began to submerge the man got out. Officers were unable to see the truck after it sank in the river. The Corpus Christi Police Dive team will attempt to remove the vehicle sometime later today. The man was taken to a hospital for an evaluation.

Offense: Burglary (PC 30.02 State Jail Felony) Case Number: 1410060042 Corpus Christi Police are investigating a burglary to the Bill Bode County Building located at 11408 Leopard St. Office workers arrived to find several doors that had been pried open and office desks ransacked. A safe was removed from a locked closet and taken to another office and pried open. It appears as though suspects made entry into the build through the front door. At this time officers are still investigating this case and no suspects have been arrested.

Offense: Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle (PC 31.07 Third Degree Felony) Case Number: 1410060008 A 26 year old female called Corpus Christi Police from a convenience store on North Beach and said that she was giving a ride to a male friend of a friend from the downtown area across the bridge. She said when they arrived at the store she went inside to buy something and when she returned her 2007 Ford Focus was gone. She said she went inside and had left the keys in the ignition with the vehicle running and the male inside. The suspect is described as a white male with two triangle tattoos on his face and he was last seen wearing a red shirt and black shorts. The female was given a ride home by officers. A little while later, officers found her car parked and abandoned in front of an apartment complex in the 3000 block of Antelope St. Officers are still looking for the male who took the car for a joy ride.

“Adam” District Date: 10/01/2014 10:15 PM Location: 14300 Interstate 37 Offense: Vehicle in River Case Number: 1410010199 A 44 year old man called Corpus Christi Police after his car rolled into the Nueces River at Labonte Park. The man said he was attempting to turn around at the boat ramp and had stopped at the edge near the water. As he tried to back up, his white 2013 Dodge Challenger sedan began to slide into the river. The man was able to get out of the car and watched as it sank into the murky water about 30 feet from the shore. The Corpus Christi Police Dive team is expected to try and recover the car on Thursday morning.

“Bravo” District Date: 09/30/2014 5:45 AM Location: 7100 Southahven Drive
Offense: Hit and Run Investigation Case Number: 1409300024 Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to the 7100 block of Southhaven Dr. for a hit and run crash with an AEP Power pole. Officers found a wooden electrical pole on the north side of the road had been broken off a few feet above the ground. The remaining pole was standing upright in the street being held up by some wires. Several other wires had snapped and were on the sidewalk. A witness told officers she saw a white truck with a short bed in the roadway shortly after she heard the crash, and then saw the truck leaving the scene on Rodd Field Road. Officers determined that a vehicle traveling east on Southhaven Dr. jumped the north curb, and struck the wooden electrical pole and then fled the scene. Damage to the pole was estimated to be about $3,500. Corpus Christi Police Hit and Run Investigators will be looking into this case to see if they can identify a vehicle and driver involved.
