Drugs, Money Seized in Friday Raid

On July 19, 2013, at approximately 4:05pm, the Corpus Christi Narcotics/Vice  Investigation Division Officers with the assistance of the S.W.A.T. Team and  Gang Unit served a search warrant at 3630 Dalraida.  A search of the residence lead to the seizure of the following:

  • 29.89  grams of Crack Cocaine with a street value of $950
  • 192.11  grams of powder Cocaine with a street value of $5,500
  • 6.41  grams of Methamphetamine (ICE)with a street value of $650
  • 2.04  grams of Heroin with a street value of $145
  • 1033.05  grams of Marijuana with a street value of  $1,300
  • $1,535 in U.S. currency
  • A loaded firearm

John Henry Jimenez (06/10/85) and Rick Manolo Benavides (08/24/82) were both arrested and booked at the City Detention Center.  Both Jimenez and Benavides were charged with two counts of Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance, and one count of Possession of Marijuana.  Jimenez was additionally charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.

AshleyNicoleGlorfieldAn Officer pulled over a Mazda Protégé for a traffic violation and contacted the occupants in the vehicle.  A passenger Ashley Nicole Glorfield (11/07/84) was observed to have to a couple of “rocks” of Crack Cocaine in her mouth and made an attempt to swallow them.  The drugs were recovered from Glorfield’s mouth.

Glorfield was arrested and charged with an outstanding Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $452.70, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Tampering with Evidence.

A 57-year-old man reported to Police he was robbed at knifepoint as he sat in his car.  The man told Officers, the suspect put a knife against his neck and demanded his wallet.  When the victim refused to hand over the wallet, the suspect forcefully took his cell phone and wallet.

The victim chased after the suspects with a wrench as they ran across a field. He was able to catch up to the male suspect and began hitting him with the wrench.  The suspect was able to disarm the victim and assaulted him with wrench.  The victim sustained a couple of lacerations to his face and head, but refused to be taken to the hospital.

The victim described the suspects as a stocky Hispanic man accompanied by a heavyset Hispanic woman, both with short men’s hairstyles.  Both fled in a white SUV, either a Chevrolet Tahoe or Ford Expedition.

Directed Patrol Officers assisted  Code Enforcement with an inspection at 3930 Baldwin Boulevard.  Officers arrested Jose Garcia Romero (05/20/68) who had an outstanding Nueces County warrant for Contempt of Court and booked at the City Detention Center.

Several individuals at the location were found to be in the country illegally and turned over to United States Customs and Border Patrol Agents.

The Corpus Christi Police Department is asking the public’s help in locating three wanted individuals  who have outstanding warrants for their arrest.  If you see any of these people, do not approach them.

LeeRoy Villalobos (12/30/72) is wanted for Fraud (Third Degree Felony~$10,000 Bond). He is an Asian male,  with black hair and brown eyes, is 5’5″ feet tall,  and weighs 185 lbs.

Armando Delmoral (04/07/68) is wanted for a Parole Violation warrant for Failure to Appear on a Larceny charge. No Bond.  He is a White male, with brown hair and brown eyes, is 5’9″ feet tall, and weighs 175 lbs.

Emmitt Moraida (10/01/95) is wanted for a Nueces County warrant for Failure to Comply for an Evading Arrest charge. No Bond.  No photo available at this time.

Corpus Christi Animal Care Services Has New Program Manager

The Corpus Christi Animal Care Services has a new program manager, Heather Hedrick.

Mrs. Hedrick completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s of Business Administration. She holds a Master Peace Officer license from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education and is a certified High School Teacher from the State Board of Education.

Mrs. Hedrick taught Criminal Justice and Firefighting in public schools for the past four years. Mrs. Hedrick was the Animal Services Director for the city of Coppell in Dallas County prior to her teaching.

Mrs. Hedrick chose to move to Corpus Christi after her husband retired from firefighting. Mrs. Hedrick said she couldn’t sit still and she felt compelled to do something constructive. Mrs. Hedrick was attentive to the Animal Care Services because of her passion for animals and applied to be the program manager once the position became available.

Mrs. Hedrick brings her experience to accomplish several goals for the Animal Care Services in Corpus Christi. Mrs. Hedrick said she wants the Animal Care Facility to be a pleasant place for the public. “I want everyone to see this place, not as a pound or someplace negative,” Hedrick explained, “this is a positive place to rescue animals.”

Mrs. Hedrick provided a list of goals for the Animal Care Services staff, for volunteers, and for the building maintenance. Mrs. Hedrick shows her passion for animals and invites the community to visit the Corpus Christi Animal Care Services at 2626 Holly Road in Corpus Christi. Police Looking for Wanted Man

DwaineCowleyThe Corpus Christi Police Department is asking the public’s help in locating Dwaine Steven Cowley (03/03/76) who has an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Cowley is wanted on a Motion to Revoke Probation for an  Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon charge (No Bond).  He is also wanted for a Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $417.25.

Cowley is a White male with blonde hair and blue eyes, standing six feet tall, and weighing 160 pounds.

Animal Care Services In The Running

Corpus Christi Animal Care Services is proud to announce their current standing in the Rachael Ray Challenge.

The Rachael Ray Challenge started June 1, 2013 and will continue through August 31. The totals have been posted on the ASPCA Rachael Ray Challenge leader board. They are ranked 9th overall, and 2nd in division 4. The ranking is based on increase in live release of animals compared to June – Aug of 2012.

Drugs and Weapon Seized by Narcotics Officers

Officers with the Corpus Christi Police Department Narcotics Vice Investigations Unit along with the assistance of the S.W.A.T. Team served a search warrant at 6402 Weber Road.  The warrant was served as a result of an ongoing investigation into drug dealing from one of the apartment’s in the complex.  Investigators recovered approximately 5.4 grams of Crack Cocaine and a stolen firearm.

Eric Richard Garza (01/26/80) and Jimmy Rafael Alvarado (09/15/75) were both arrested and booked at the City Detention Center.  Garza and Alvarado were both charged with Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a Second Degree Felony.  Garza was additionally charged with Theft of a Firearm (State Jail Felony) and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon (Third Degree Felony).

A Walgreen’s pharmacy technician reported a man armed with a knife demanded two specific narcotics.  The man left when the technician informed the man the named narcotics were not kept at the store.

The suspect is described at Hispanic male, standing 5’2” to 5’5” feet tall, and weighing 150 to 165 lbs.  He was last seen wearing an off white shirt and blue jeans.

Police were called to La Palmera Mall for two women who were trying to use checks and cards at several stores with their identification.  Officers located the two women  at the Radio Shack and arrested the two women.

Serenity Lynn McCracken (09/15/77) lied about her identity and found to be wanted.  McCracken was charged with an outstanding Nueces County Burglary warrant (No Bond) and Failure to Identify as a Fugitive from Justice.

Alicia Maria Deleon (12/05/88) was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance when an assorted collection of pills were found in her possession.

AlfonsoArnulfoLongoriaPolice were dispatched to 4834 Hamlett Drive for a wanted subject at the residence. As Officers were en route they were advised that the wanted suspect Alfonso Longoria (02/20/90) had left in a black Ford Explorer.  The SUV was observed in the 2400 block of Sunnybrook and Officers attempted to pull it over.

Longoria refused to pull over and continued to the 4800 block of Ingram where he was blocked in by Officers.  He was arrested and booked at the City Detention Center.  Longoria was charged with ten outstanding warrants. He had seven outstanding Nueces County warrants and three outstanding Municipal Court warrants:
