Firearms Stolen In Auto Burglaries

The Corpus Christi Police Department wants to inform citizens about auto burglaries occurring in the city and victims  having their  firearms stolen from inside their vehicle.

From January  through the end of May this year, the police department has investigated 68 reports of burglaries that involved a firearm being stolen from inside of the vehicle.  Only 14 of those 68 guns have been recovered.

While there was a sharp decrease in the number of cases from April to May, the Corpus Christi Police Department wants to warn our citizens that these types of crimes are occurring in our city and remind them to  protect their weapons and keep them out of the hands of criminals.
