Corpus Christi Police Detectives need your help catching this burglar. The male suspect is seen entering the laundry mat. He is seen carrying a bag and then setting it down near a vending machine. The suspect is seen forcing his way into the machine, take the change and then leave the business.

Patrol Report January 23, 2017

Date: Saturday, January 21, 2017, 4:00 AM

Offense: Assault Family Violence, Interfering with 911 Call

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to the area of 4400 Cedar Pass in reference to a disturbance in progress. Officers were flagged down by a neighbor who advised them they witnessed a male dragging a screaming female into an apartment. Officers went to the apartment and observed a purse and a cellphone on the ground in front of the door. Officers knocked and heard something hitting the floor followed by silence. Officers knocked again and heard something hit the floor and again it was followed by silence. Due to the totality of the circumstances officers forced their way into the apartment.

Officers were met by the 21 year old male suspect who was quickly detained. Offices located the 22 year old female victim in the back bedroom. The victim was visibly shaken and covering her face with a blanket. When officers moved the blanket from her face they observed severe bruising to her face, her left eye was swollen shut and she had redness to her neck. The victim advised they were coming from a friends house when they began arguing. The victim at some point tried to leave. The suspect pulled the victim from the car catching her jacket I the door. The victim became upset and started hitting the car. The suspect grabbed the victim and threw her to the ground and began choking her in an effort to keep her from screaming. The victim is not sure when it happened but she was struck several times in the face. The victim advised that she tried to call 911 in an effort to calm the suspect. The suspect took her phone and did not allow her to call for help.

The victim advised that this is not the first time she has been assaulted but it was the worst. The victim was treated at the scene for her injuries. Officers arrested Kameron William Handy (02-03-1995) for assault family violence and interfering with a 911 call. Kameron was transported to the City Detention Center.

Corpus Christi Police were dispatched to The Harbor Bridge Northbound in reference to a accident involving a pedestrian. Officers arrived and found 89 year old Evan McDonald deceased in the right lane of the roadway. It appeared that Evan had been ran over. A 24 year old female driver stopped at the Exxon at Burleson and stated she ran over the victim. Officers are trying to determine if the victim collapsed or fell over the barricade. It is still an ongoing investigation. This is the 3rd fatality accident for the year.

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to the area of Cimarron and Lipes in reference to a back up for an officer. The officer advised that a silver Dodge Ram pickup was trying to ram the patrol unit. Back up officers arrived and observed the suspect vehicle driving erratically and trying to ram the patrol unit. Officers activated the emergency lights and siren in an effort to stop the truck. The officer had to accelerate numerous times in order to not be rammed or sideswiped by the suspect vehicle. The officers continued to chase the suspect vehicle until it ran off the road and onto the sidewalk at Staples and Williams. Officers contacted and arrested Armand L. Boyd (09-06-1981).  The victim officer was ok but was in fear of being injured by the suspect due to his actions. The suspect was transported to the City Detention Center.

 

 

Yeti Cooler Thieves

The suspects tried to exit through a back door of the business. The suspects set off a door alarm and were confronted by an employee. The suspects dropped the coolers and fled on foot.

Police Need Your Help Identifying These Lotto Thieves

Corpus Christi Police Detectives need your help identifying these suspects. The four suspects, 2 male and 2 female, came into the Stripes Convenience store. The 2 females are seen talking with the clerk in an effort to distract him. The 2 males distract and draw the clerk outside. As the clerk is outside, one female acts as a lookout and the other goes behind the counter and steals some lottery tickets. The females take a second trip behind the counter and steal some more lotto tickets.

Woman Surprised When Police Find A Stolen Van In Her Back Yard

Corpus Christi Police recovered a stolen van in the back yard of a home located on the 13300 block of Hearn Road after a neighbor saw the van on the news and called Police.

Corpus Christi Police received a call at 10:23pm from a person who said they saw the van presented on the news as a Corpus Christi Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week which the person recognized as in the back yard of their neighbor’s house. Officers met a 30 year old woman at the home and found a van in the back yard which was the stolen vehicle reported on the news. Officers saw the ignition to the van was broken and the van was empty of the contents.

The van was the property of an electric repair company which was reported stolen from an apartment complex located at 5445 Alameda on January 11th. Corpus Christi Crime Stoppers featured the van as a Crime of the Week because of its unique, identifying marks and the contents of tools housed in the van at the time the vehicle was stolen.

Officers impounded the van and identified the residents of the home in which the vehicle was found. No arrests were made as Detectives gather more information to specifically identify a person responsible for the theft.

Operation Stickman

In October of 2016, the CCPD Narcotics Vice Investigations Division initiated a long term undercover operation targeting street level synthetic cannabinoid dealers, primarily focusing on dealers in the downtown area surrounding City Hall.

NVID recognized that synthetic cannabinoid abusers were causing serious quality of life issues with business owners and residents of this neighborhood. Approximately 50% of all drug related arrests and drug seizures by CCPD in 2016 were synthetic cannabinoid related.

The goals of this operation were to:

    • identify dealers
    • conduct undercover narcotics buys from dealers
    • Identify locations where being sold and follow up with search warrants.
    • Obtain arrest warrants for suspects dealing.

The operation consisted of weekly joint operations between NVID and the Operations Division Crime Reduction Unit.

    • Bikes
    • Enduros
    • Downtown “Gator Units”
  • Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) were very familiar with most suspects
    • Contacted them on a daily basis.

The Operation, dubbed “Operation Stick Man” culminated today when over 30 over     Officers from NVID, CRU, Gang, US Marshal’s Task Force set out to arrest 24 suspects who had sold synthetic cannabinoid to undercover officers.

All suspects were charged with Felony Manufacture and delivery of controlled substance in Penalty Group 2A, with penalties ranging from 2 to 99 years in prison. Corpus Christi Police Officers will continue to search for the remaining eight suspects. Great job by everyone involved.

Man Steals Paint Sprayer From Home Improvement Store

A 49 year old man reported a theft from a home improvement store to Corpus Christi Police.

The 49 year old man provided Officers with images of a man who stole a paint sprayer valued at ($489.00). The unknown man is described as an adult male who wore a red shirt, baseball cap, tan pants and shoes at the time of the theft.

Police Search for Bank Robber at Kostoryz and Holly

Corpus Christi Police are searching for a man accused of robbing the bank at the corner of Holly and Kostoryz Friday afternoon.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a call for the bank robbery at 2pm Friday in which a man took money by force. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Bank employees told Officers that an unknown man walked into the bank with black pants, a red hoodie, and a black ski mask on his head. Employees told Officers that the man went to the teller and demanded cash. Employees told Officers the man did not see a weapon, but the man made them believe he had a weapon. Employees told Officers the man took the money and ran out the door and left the area in an unknown direction. There were several customers in the bank at the time of the robbery, but no injuries were reported.

Police are now searching the area to locate the man and would like help from the public to identify and locate the man responsible for this robbery.

Police Search for Failed Bank Robbers

Corpus Christi Police are searching for two men who tried to rob a bank at Alameda and Everhart Thursday morning, but were stopped by a security guard on duty at the bank.

Corpus Christi Police responded to the bank at 11:14am Thursday morning and met the security guard who explained that two men in hoodies went to the bank front door but were stopped right away because the hooded men wore masks. The security guard saw that one of the hooded men had a pistol in his hand which was dropped as the two men were confronted by the security guard. The security guard told Officers that the masked men ran around the exterior of the bank and escaped. Corpus Christi Police Robbery/Homicide Detectives are now searching for the two men.

Corpus Christi Police Detectives Confirm Breanna Wood Has Been Found

Corpus Christi Police Robbery and Homicide supervisor, Lieutenant Mark Tuley, was sad to say the remains of Breanna Wood were found today outside of the Corpus Christi city limits along FM 1833.

Lieutenant Tuley said the Corpus Christi Police Detectives worked yesterday on the case and developed information to possibly locate Breanna Wood. Lieutenant Tuley said the Detectives went to the location at about 10am this morning and found human remains which have been positively identified as Breanna Wood. The remains were taken to the Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death. The cause of death must be determined first in order to establish the direction of the investigation as a homicide, accidental death, medical condition or other type of investigation.

Update January 4, 2016- 

The Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Breanna Wood died from gunfire. The Breanna Wood missing person case is closed and is now a homicide investigation.

Corpus Christi Police Detectives would like help from the public to locate a 21 year old woman reported by her mother as a missing person.

A 45 year old woman reported her daughter, 21 year old Breanna Wood (3/8/1995) missing on Tuesday to the Corpus Christi Police. The 45 year old woman told Officers she last saw Breanna on October 11, at 950 Stone Street. The 45 year old woman told Officers Breanna speaks with her daily until October 11 and Breanna left her cat unattended; both characteristics that are unlike Breanna’s normal behavior. Corpus Christi Police believe Breanna was seen at the PMI on Tancuhua Street with a 25 year old man. The 45 year old woman is concerned and would like help to reconnect with Breanna.

Breanna is described as a 21 year old woman who stands 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighs about 100 pounds, and has black hair and hazel eyes.
