Sex Offender Sentenced to Over 50 years for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender

The Corpus Christi Police Department Sex Offender Unit investigated allegations that sex offender Mickey Boswell (07/10/62) had failed to register every 90 days as required by state law. Boswell failed to return to the police department to update his registration.

Boswell was found guilty of failing to register as a sex offender and sentenced to 50 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for a Motion to Revoke for Theft (Enhanced), a 20 year sentence for Failure to Register as Sex Offender in addition to four 20 year sentences each on the remaining four charges.

The Sex Offender Unit routinely monitors sex offenders to ensure that they are in compliance with their registration.

The Corpus Christi Police Department Property Crimes Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the suspect involved in a theft.

Wal-Mart Asset Protection Coordinator reported a black Female purchased several items and in the process stole $300 from the register.  The theft was not discovered until the nightly audit was complete and the shortage was discovered.

The suspect is described as a heavyset Black female, 5’6″ to 5’7″ feet tall and weighing 230 to 240 lbs.   She was last seen wearing lime green fitted shirt and dark-colored leggings.  She was accompanied by a Black male wearing a white t-shirt and black shorts.

Two More Victims Come Forward In Two George’s Restaurant Fraud Investigation

The Corpus Christi Police Department is investigating multiple complaints from the public that their credit cards have been billed extra charges by Two George’s Restaurant.  A total of sixteen victim’s have come forward to report these fraudulent charges with an estimated $20,000 charged on the victim’s charge cards.

Investigators with the Forgery Unit ask citizens, who have dined at Two George’s Restaurant in the past, to look at their credit card statements to ensure there are no erroneous charges from this or any other location.

If fraudulent charges are found, please contact the police department at (361) 886-2600 to file a report.  This report can be filed with the Corpus Christi Police Department’s Telephone Reporting Unit.

Update:

Over the weekend Officers contacted two victims who reported fraudulent charges were also billed to their credit cards by Two George’s Restaurant.

One victim reported approximately $14,000 was charged to his credit card when he and his wife invited several friends to join them for a dinner party at the restaurant.  The other victim told Officers over $1,700 in unauthorized charges were also added to her credit card.

The investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by the Corpus Christi Police Department’s Forgery Division.

Again we ask that diners who have eaten at Two George’s Restaurant to check their bank and credit card statements for any fraudulent charges.  Please file a police report with our Telephone Reporting Unit at 361-886-2600.

Detectives Arrest Suspect Involved In Rash Of Robberies

On 9/21/11, Detectives with the Corpus Christi Police Department Homicide/Robbery Bureau arrested Jerry Jerome Anderson (10/24/62) for robbery.   Detectives discovered Anderson was responsible for the robberies at the Family Dollar Store (5815 Weber Road), the Valero Corner Store (5646 Kostoryz), and the Dollar General Store (6726 Saratoga Boulevard).

The Auto Theft Task Force needs assistance in identifying the Hispanic male and Hispanic female wanted in connection with an auto burglary that occurred on 9-11-11 at a local nightclub parking lot, 5800 S. Staples St.  The offenders are shown here using a Lone Star card stolen in the auto burglary.

The hispanic male is medium build dark complected wearing a dark t-shirt, black shorts and white tennis shoes.

The female is wearing a green t-shirt, jeans and white tennis shoes.

Police are looking to identify two subjects, who went on theft spree at Sears Dept. store on September 1st at 6:45 p.m. As you can see in the video the first subject goes throughout the store and loads up the cart with several appliances and male grooming items. He then places the cart right by the main entrance of the store and leaves. A few seconds later the second subject walks into the store and rolls the cart right out into the mall without paying for the items. Both subjects leave the mall and are seen by store employees loading up the loot into a truck. They then fled the area.

The first subject is described as a heavy-set Hispanic male with a short hair cut and a mustache. At the time of the theft he was wearing a dark-colored striped polo shirt, shorts and sandals.

The second individual is described as a black male who appears to be bald at the time of the theft. He was wearing a green polo shirt, jeans and white tennis shoes.

Investigators with the Auto Theft Task Force are looking to identify the two subjects that stole an individual’s truck, and also used the same individuals Credit Card at a local gaming store.

The incident occurred on August 21st , when the two subjects seen in the video stole a vehicle, which was later recovered stripped. However, it appears they located the victims’ credit card, in the vehicle, and went on a shopping spree where they were caught on video. The first suspect is a Hispanic male, wearing a red shirt and jeans. The second suspect is wearing a white cap,  a dark-colored striped shirt and jeans.

Sometime between the late night hours of September 11th & the early morning hours of September the 12th, three unknown individuals, driving a blue 4 door sedan, drove into the Progressive Car wash at 6821 Everhart with the sole intention of breaking into the vacuum machines.

The Corpus Christi Police Dept. needs help in identifying the three individuals seen in the videos;

The first subject is white female wearing a black top, jeans and white tennis shoes.

The second subject is a male wearing a Green T-Shirt, khaki shorts and white tennis shoes.

The third subject is male wearing all dark clothing.

In Custody Death, Officers Names Released

The Corpus Christi Police Department’s Criminal Investigation and Professional Standards Divisions are continuing its dual investigation into the “in custody” death of a 32-year-old male.  

As reported Sunday evening, Officers responded to the Waterford Apartments after the police department’s Dispatch Center received several calls reporting a disturbance. 

During their investigation, Officers became involved in a scuffle with the male as they attempted to arrest him.  During the struggle, Officers deployed their “Taser” in addition with OC “Pepper” Spray.  Both tools had little to no effect on the suspect. 

Once the suspect was finally handcuffed, he collapsed.  Officers immediately rendered aid and applied CPR until Corpus Christi Fire Department Medic Units arrived.  The suspect was transported to Doctor’s Regional Hospital where he expired.  

The four Officers involved in the incident are Javier Cantu, 13 years of service; Ismael Ybarra, 13 years of service; Daryl Anderson, six years of service; and Lou Villagomez Jr., six years of service with the police department.  

As per department protocol, all four Officers have been placed on administrative leave pending the conclusion of the investigation.

Suspect Arrested in the Murder of Michael Olivarez

At 4:35 a.m. on August 30th, 2011, Corpus Christi Police Department Officers responded to the 5800 block of Crestmore for a man down call. Upon their arrival, Officers found Michael Olivarez, 40, lying in the roadway dead from multiple gunshot wounds.

At 10:24 a.m., Officers responded to the 7200 S. Padre Island Drive for reports of a disturbance, which turned into a report of a stolen vehicle.  During the investigation Officers discovered the stolen vehicle was connected to the murder of Olivarez.

Later the same day, Homicide/Robbery Detectives recovered the stolen vehicle at an apartment complex on the South side of Corpus Christi.

Through further investigation, Corpus Christi Police Department Homicide/Robbery Detectives were able to identify two suspects and obtained warrants for their arrest on August 31, 2011.

A Murder warrant was issued for Miguel Del Toro Jr. (02/15/86), while an Aggravated Sexual Assault warrant was issued for Christina Turner (12/12/83).

On September 2, 2011, at approximately 1:40 pm, Del Toro and Turner were arrested in the 4900 block of Curtis Clark by the Corpus Christi Police Department S.W.A.T. Team and the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders & Fugitive Task Force without incident.  They were both taken to the Corpus Christi Police Department Criminal Investigation Division for questioning.  They were then transported and booked at the CDC.

Del Toro was charged with the outstanding warrant for Murder.  His bond is set at $500,000.  Homicide/Robbery Detectives are still investigating Aggravated Kidnapping, Aggravated Sexual Assault, and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle (Stolen Vehicle).

Turner was charged with the outstanding warrant for Aggravated Sexual Assault.  Her bond is set at $250,000.
