Robbery Suspect Wanted

Corpus Christi Police Detectives have secured a warrant for the arrest of a suspect they believe is involved in a robbery that occurred at 4038 S. Port Avenue, The Home Depot on January 26.

A shoplifting call was upgraded to a robbery after a male suspect assaulted a store employee to help a female friend escape.

A 50 year old store employee told officers that he observed two males and a female come into the store together and split up.  The employee was watching the female put several items from the store into her purse and then watched as she walked out without paying.

When he confronted her in the parking lot, he was attempting to escort her back to the store, when the two males she had walked into the store with came up to him and began yelling to let her go.

One of the males hit the employee in the throat with his fist and forced him to let her go.  All three suspects got into a gray Toyota Tacoma truck and left toward Port Avenue.

The arrest warrant for robbery was issued on March 17 for the man that assaulted the employee, Lloyd Allison Turner (12/02/1972), and  has a $30,000 bond amount.

Stabbing Suspect Wanted

Corpus Christi Police Detectives have secured a warrant for the arrest of a suspect they believe is involved in a stabbing that occurred at 4650 Kostoryz Road, The Meet Me Midway Club on March 13.

A 39 year old male victim had six stab wounds to the upper torso and  he was taken to Spohn MMC by CCFD EMS.   He is still there in the Intensive Care Unit.

The arrest warrant for aggravated assault was issued on March 18 for Ricco Davis (11/02/1977)  and has a $50,000 bond amount.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a vehicle that had spun out in the road and was facing the wrong direction.

Officers arrived and found the black 2003 Ford F150 truck with damage to its back driver side tire. The truck was stalled and facing north in the southbound lanes of 1800 Ennis Joslin Road.

The driver was located and he said that he was traveling south on Ennis Joslin Road when he lost control of his truck and it struck the center median.

The damage to the back tire caused the vehicle to become inoperable and caused him to veer into the oncoming lanes.

After an investigation, officers determined that the driver, Josue Zamarripa (06/17/1993) was intoxicated and he was arrested.  The driver was charged with driving while intoxicated, a Class B misdemeanor, and his truck was impounded.

Suspect Removes Landscaping Materials

Corpus Christi Police Detectives have released camera surveillance images of a suspect they believe is involved in a burglary to the Gill’s Landscape and Nursery located at 4441 South Alameda Street on March 15.

Officers believe that the suspect made entry onto the property by cutting the chain on the front gate.  Once inside, the suspect cut a lock off a shed and removed tools.  He then entered a greenhouse and took pots, plants, trees and fountains. In all, the suspect stole over $2600 worth of merchandise.

Detectives were able to obtain camera images from the stores security system that shows a male, with dark hair, and a mustache.  He also has a distinct tattoo on the left side of his neck. He was last seen wearing dark pants, black and white shoes, and a dark printed hoodie, and gray pants.

The suspect in this case was not located and Detectives need your help in identifying this individual.  Anyone with information about this case should call the Corpus Christi Police Property Crimes Detectives at 886-2840. Corpus Christi Police responded to a person that fell off a horse while riding on the beach.

Officers arrived and found a group of riders from a private company at Beach Marker 234.  One of the riders, a 34 year old female, told officers that while she was riding she fell off a horse that was spooked by a vehicle that was attempting to get free from being stuck in the sand.

The female was transported to Bay Area Hospital by CCFD EMS as a precaution with non-life threatening injuries.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer on patrol through a neighborhood alley found a man wanted by the United State Marshall Service.

The officer was driving through an alley behind the 300 block of Meldo Park when he saw a man attempt to hide himself behind some vehicles.  When the officer went to talk to the man, he lied about his name.  When the officer finally got the man’s true name, it was determined that he was wanted by the U.S. Marshalls for fraud.

Once in custody, the officer found the suspect to be in possession of checks that belonged to another person, and an identification card belonging to another person.  A plastic bag with methamphetamine was also found in his pants pocket.

The suspect, Paul Dye (07/15/1966) was arrested for the outstanding warrant, forgery, fraud, and possession of a controlled substance.  All of these are felony crimes.

Corpus Christi Spring Break Law Enforcement by the Numbers 2015 #SB2K15

The Corpus Christi Police released statistical information Monday morning about the Spring Break weekend from March 13-15, 2015. The Corpus Christi Police compiled the information about action on the beach from Officers assigned to Beach Units, Gang Units, and Traffic Units.

Officers issued 227 traffic citations for violations on the beach. There were 82 warnings provided to individuals with dogs on the beach. There were 8 citations issued for minors in possession of alcohol, 7 vehicles impounded for no insurance, 6 warnings for glass containers on the beach, 4 Intoxicated Drivers arrested, 3 people arrested for public intoxication, 2 people arrested for possession of marijuana, 2 people arrested for felony warrants for their arrest, 2 people arrested for misdemeanor warrants for their arrest, 2 citations for open alcoholic beverage container while vehicle in operation, 2 warnings for driving in the dunes, 1 arrest for reckless driving, 1 citation for driving while license invalid, and there was 1 vehicle crash with no injuries.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a fatal crash involving a small car and a semi-truck at the intersection of Up River Road and Suntide Road.

The crash investigation revealed that a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze was traveling east on Up River Road when it ran a red light and struck a semi-tractor trailer that was traveling north on Suntide Road. The car struck near the rear  of the trailer on the drivers side and was drug several feet from the intersection.

A 69 year old female passenger in the car was killed.

The 57 year old male driver was transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital by CCFD EMS for injuries not believed to be life threatening.

The 56 year old driver of the semi-truck was not injured.  At this time

Corpus Christi Police Traffic Officers are still investigating this crash and no citations have been issued

Police Seek Theft Suspect

Corpus Christi Police Detectives are looking for a man that pushed a shopping cart full of property out the front door of a Wal-Mart Store without paying.  This crime occurred at the Wal-Mart located at 1250 Flour Bluff Drive at about 4:30 PM on March 7.

The suspect stole nearly $250 in merchandise.  He is described as a Hispanic male, 20 to 30 years old, with a mustache.  He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a dark jacket and a gray cap.   Store surveillance cameras caught images of the suspect as he left the store.

Stabbing at Local Club

Date: March 13, 2015       10:55 P.M.
Location: 4650 Kostoryz
Offense: Aggravated Assault
Case Number: 1503130180

Corpus Christi Police responded to a walk in stabbing victim at Spohn Memorial Hospital. The 39 year old male victim had several stab wounds to the upper torso and was taken to surgery and listed in serious condition.

Witnesses advised that earlier there was a disturbance at McCaws on Weber and the victim left the scene and went to 4650 Kostoryz at the Meet Me Midway Club. Two suspects followed the victim to the club on Kostoryz. The victim and the suspects went into the parking lot where a fight started and at this point the victim was stabbed several times. The suspects then fled the scene in a white pickup truck on Kostoryz towards Gollihar.

One suspect is described as a stocky male, bald headed with a goatee and wearing a dark t-shirt. The other suspect is a thin male, with short bushy hair, possible facial hair and wearing a white t-shirt.
