Police need your help in locating a missing person

Missing Person Martin Rich

The Corpus Christi Police Department Homicide/Robbery Bureau is asking the public’s assistance in locating 34 year old Martin Rich who was reported missing on November 17, 2014.  Rich was last seen at 902 Airport Road and is in need of his medication.

He is 5′ 1″ tall and weighs 119 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes and is non-aggressive.

Corpus Christi Police officers looking for a wanted man out of New Mexico found him and more. Officers went to an apartment in the 500 block of Lakeside Dr. after learning the wanted person may be living there.

Officers found Harley Skeen (01/08/1989) walking out of the apartment with two other males. When they approached, the suspect dropped a clear plastic bag that had crystal methamphetamine inside.

The wanted man gave officers a false name, but after an investigation they determined he was the man they were looking for. The other two men were released.

The suspect was placed under arrest for the methamphetamine that he dropped and while searching the man, officers found another bag of methamphetamine in his possession. Officers confirmed the outstanding arrest warrants from the state of New Mexico for parole violation and burglary.

Thieves Strike Northwest Business

Corpus Christi Police Detectives need your help identifying two suspects that removed property and equipment valued at over $4,100 from a business located at 202 Corn Products Road on October 12.

Video surveillance shows a late model Chevrolet truck pulling into the front parking lot of the business facing Hopkins Road.   A short time later two males are seen in the yard and one is holding a battery operated saw.   The second suspect has on a bandanna to cover his nose and mouth area. He is also wearing a pair of safety glasses and carrying a backpack.

Officers discovered the fence facing Corn Products Road was pushed down at the top near the barbed wire where it appears the suspects made access into the yard from the parking lot.

Anyone with information about this case should call the Corpus Christi Police Criminal Investigations Division at 886-2840. A 25 year old female called Corpus Christi Police after she witnessed a stabbing outside her apartment located at 6717 Everhart Rd.  The female told officers she called her father to come pick her up because she did not want to live with her boyfriend anymore.

When the 52 year old male arrived at the apartment to pick up his daughter he called her to come outside.  Her 20 year old boyfriend came out instead and started approaching the vehicle.   The male exited the vehicle and was confronted by the boyfriend.  The boyfriend attempted to hit the male but he dodged the punch. The father then slashed the boyfriend on the left side of his neck with a pocket knife.

The victim was transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital by CCFD EMS with minor injuries.  Oscar Escalante (03/24/1962) was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second degree felony.

A 60 year old grandmother called Corpus Christi Police after her grandson assaulted her over an argument about toast.  Officers arrived at the home located in the 1400 block of West Point Rd. and were told that the grandmother got mad at her 24 year old grandson because he did not use a knife or spoon to spread butter on his toast.

The argument got more heated and the man pushed his grandmother up against a cabinet. The grandmother then grabbed a knife and told him to get away.  The male grabbed a kitchen pan and threatened to hit her before being separated by the grandfather.

The female told officers that the assault had injured her back but she declined medical assistance. Officers arrested Billy Angel Gutierrez (12/13/1989) for assault, a Class A misdemeanor.

Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to a call about an unconscious female at a motel located at 11217 Interstate Highway 37 and found a 28 year old female on a bed in a room with a weak pulse and not breathing.   One of the officers began chest compressions on the female and she started breathing on her own.

The male staying in the room with the female said she had taken heroin. CCFD EMS arrived and transported the female to Spohn MMC.

A 27 year old female owner of a business located at 5601 S Padre Island Drive called Corpus Christi Police after one of her employees took in a counterfeit fifty dollar bill.  The female told officers she discovered the fake bill while counting cash proceeds from her business. The counterfeit bill appeared to have been altered from a five dollar bill and made to look like a fifty dollar bill.

The owner is in the process of looking at store video surveillance to see which customer passed the bill. Corpus Christi Police Financial Crimes Detectives continue to investigate this case and no arrests have been made.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a business located in the 10700 block of Leopard St. for a burglary to a vehicle and witnesses following the suspect on foot. Officers contacted a FedEx driver who said he was making a delivery at an apartment complex when a male in a leather jacket ran up to him yelling that two males were chasing him. The two males approached and told the driver to hold onto the male because he had just burglarized a vehicle.  The suspect male then tried to press on the gas pedal on the Fed Ex truck, and that is when the driver took the offender to the ground and held him until officers arrived.

Upon investigation officers found that the suspect male had entered a 2008 Dodge Ram truck that was parked at a business located at 11020 Leopard St. through the passenger side door.  A witness and the owner of the truck then chased the suspect until he was caught by the Fed Ex driver.

Officers arrested Randall McBurnett (07/04/1989) for burglary to a vehicle, and also found him to have several outstanding arrest warrants. The warrants were for obstructing police, taking a weapon from an officer, and two warrants for assault on public servant. The 55 year old male victim reported that the suspect did not have time to take anything from his truck but he did leave the front interior area in disarray as he rifled through the center console.

Police Investigate Two Violent Attacks On Waldron In Two Consecutive Days

A 30-year-old woman reported an aggravated robbery to Corpus Christi Police on the 2400 block of Waldron Road Thursday night. The 30-year-old woman told Officers she was approached by an unknown man at 2:39am Thursday morning. The 30-year-old woman told Officers the man placed the blade of a knife against her neck and took money from the woman and walked away. The 30-year-old woman described the man to Officers as a 25-35 year old male about six feet tall, about 185 pounds and wore a red hoodie with the hood pulled over his head, black muddy tennis shoes and smelled of alcohol. The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries related to the attack.

A 32-year-old man reported an assault to Corpus Christi Police that happened on the 1800 block of Waldron Road Friday night to his 16-year-old son. The 32-year-old man told Corpus Christi Police Officers that his 16-year-old son rode his bike on the 1800 block of Waldron Road when the 16-year-old boy was approached by an unknown man. The 32-year-old man told Officers the man pushed the 16-year-old boy off the bike and pulled the 16-year-old boy toward a house. The 32-year-old man told Officers his 16-year-old son said he (the 16-year-old boy) punched the man and escaped uninjured. The 32-year-old man told Officers his 16-year-old son described the man as a 18-32 year old male, about 180 pounds, with bleached white hair and a thick Spanish accent.

Two Men Steal Register And Discharge Firearm At Restaurant On Weber

A 25-year-old man reported an aggravated robbery Monday morning at a restaurant located at 5212 Weber Road. The 25-year-old man told Officers that two men who wore masks and blue hoodie shirts with the hoods up entered the restaurant at 10:12am Monday morning, displayed a handgun and stole the cash register. The 25-year-old man told Officers there were about ten people in the restaurant at the time of the robbery and no injuries were reported. The 25-year-old man told Officers the two men left the restaurant and ran to the apartment complex east of the restaurant. The 25-year-old man told Officers that the men discharged the firearm outside the restaurant as they made their escape, but no injuries or property damage related to the gunshots were reported.

Corpus Christi Independent School District told Officers that Carroll High School, Kostoryz Elementary and Yeager Elementary Schools were locked down while Police searched for the suspects in this case. The suspects were not located and Detectives continue to investigate this aggravated robbery.
