Corpus Christi Police Investigators would like help from the public to locate a missing person.

Clara Ayala was reported missing by her family on October 15, 2020.  Clara was last seen in Corpus Christi on approximately July 31, 2020.  She was last active on social media on August 16, 2020 and was last known to be in the San Antonio area.  

Clara is described as a 48-year-old female who stands 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighs approximately 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

2020 RED RIBBON WEEK

Did you know that this week is Red Ribbon Week?  

The Corpus Christi Police Department has partnered with several local Law Enforcement Agencies to participate in the National Red Ribbon Campaign.  Officers will be participating in Red Ribbon Parade Routes at several local elementary schools throughout the week.    

What Is Red Ribbon Week? 

The Red Ribbon Campaign® is the oldest and largest drug prevention program in the nation, reaching millions of young people during Red Ribbon Week®, which is October 23rd – October 31st, each year.  The mission of the Red Ribbon Campaign® is to present a unified and visible commitment towards the creation of a DRUG- FREE AMERICA. 

Red Ribbon Week started after the murder of Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena in 1985.  After his death, communities across the country began wearing red ribbons as a symbol of their commitment to raise awareness of the killing and destruction caused by drugs in America and to honor Kiki’s sacrifice.  

This year’s theme, “Be Happy, Be Brave, Be Drug Free”.  

WANTED FUGITIVE

Nueces County Sheriff’s Office is asking for your help to  locate 45-year-old Abel Lucio who has an outstanding warrant for Violation of Protective Order (No Bond) as well as an outstanding warrant for Terroristic Threat to Family Member.  

Lucio is described as a 45-year-old male, who stands 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighs approximately 146 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Homicide Suspect Arrested

The Corpus Christi Police Department Criminal Investigation Division were able to identify 21-year-old Joseph Perez as the offender in the homicide that occurred on October 16, 2020 at the 200 block of Port Avenue.

Detectives secured a warrant for Capital Murder with a bond of $1,000.000.00 and Joseph was located by the Corpus Christi Police Department Gang Unit on October 18, 2020 at 11:30 pm on Elesa & Mary.

We would like to thank our community for their assistance in locating this wanted offender.

Racing Operation 10-17-20

The Corpus Christi Police Department continues to work to address the racing on Shoreline and Ocean Drive. On October 17th there were two separate traffic stops that resulted in arrests.

At 10:31 pm officers stopped a vehicle for running a stop sign at Shoreline and Resaca then drove left of center. The 21 year-old driver was arrested for Reckless Driving and Child Endangerment due to a small child being in the vehicle during the reckless driving. During the arrest the officers found a handgun and the driver was additionally charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Firearm.

At 1:15 am officers attempted to stop a vehicle that was traveling at a high rate of speed on the 700 block of Shoreline. The 34 year-old driver initially failed to stop for the officers after they activated the emergency lights. Upon stopping the driver was arrested for Eluding Police and Reckless Driving.

Corpus Christi Police Department Investigators need your help identifying a suspect believed to be involved in the city’s latest homicide.

Officers were dispatched to 200 N. Port in reference to a man down. When they arrived they found a woman on the side of the road and appeared to have multiple stab wounds. The responding officers began first aid until the medics arrived and transported her to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Officers and detectives investigated the scene and were able to locate video of the possible suspect.

The suspect appears to be either a white or Hispanic male wearing a ball cap, short sleeve shirt and pants. MISSING PERSON

Corpus Christi Police Investigators would like help from the public to locate a missing person.

Susan Rivera was reported missing by her family on September 21, 2020.  Susan was last seen in Corpus Christi on September 16, 2020.   

She was last seen by a family member in Laredo, Texas on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 but has not been seen or heard from since.    

Susan is described as a 51-year-old female who stands 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighs approximately 135 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

KIDNAPPING UPDATE

Date: October 10, 2020 5:00 P.M. 

Location: 4100 block of S Staples  

Offense: Kidnapping

Case Number: 2010100095

At approximately 6:05 pm on Saturday, October 10, 2020 officers were dispatched to the 4100 block of S Staples for a report of 3 missing children.  

Upon arrival, officers were advised that an acquaintance of the Mother left the location with 3 of her children, without the Mother’s consent.  The Mother advised that they were at the location and the acquaintance offered to assist the Mother with watching her three youngest children as she was finalizing her purchase.  The Mother advised that when she was done,  she realized the suspect and children were gone.  After the Mother exhausted a search of the location, both inside and out, the Mother contacted police.  

It was noted that the children were last seen on foot at approximately 5:00 pm near the area of Staples/Carmel Parkway.

Officers immediately began canvassing the area and reviewing surveillance footage in the area.  Officers also followed up on several possible sightings.  

At approximately 9:15 pm, a CCPD patrol officer spotted the female and three children walking near SPID and Ennis Joslin.  They were contacted and properly identified.

The female and children were transported to the main station, where the children were reunited with their Mother.  

After being interviewed by Detectives, 19-year-old Helen Alvarez was arrested and charged with Kidnapping.  

Alvarez was transported to the City Detention Center for processing.

Missing children

Corpus Christi Police Department needs your help to locate the whereabouts of 3 missing children. A 2-year-old male, 2-year-old female and 4-year-old female were reported missing at approximately 6:05 pm. The children were last seen with a 19-year-old female at approximately 5:00 pm leaving the Walmart at Staples/Carmel Parkway on foot.

The attached picture is of the female and children with what they were last seen wearing.

If anyone has seen this female or the children, please call 911 immediately.

Neighbors in the area are asked to please check their doorbell or surveillance cameras for any sightings of the female and children.

The female is described as a 19-year-old, who stands 5’02”, weighs approximately 115 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing an orange halter shirt and blue jeans.

Edit: This is not a custodial issue. There is no familial relationship between the female and the children.

Edit: The female has been identified as 19-year-old Helen Alvarez. Images of her Identification Card and a more updated picture of her have been added to the post.

The female was last seen by a citizen on foot pushing the children in a shopping cart; traveling northbound on Staples, approaching Weber.

SUSPECT ARRESTED FROM BEAR LANE SHOOTING

Date: October 04, 2020 5:12 P.M.
Location: Bear Ln / S Padre Island Drive
Offense: Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon
Case Number: 2010040103

On October 04, 2020 at approximately 5:12 pm Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to the area of Bear Lane and S Padre Island Drive, reference a man down call.  Officers arrived on scene and located a 19-year-old male with serious injuries from multiple gunshot wounds.

Through their investigation, detectives identified a suspect, 17-year-old Robert Flores.  Officers from our Gang Unit located, and arrested Flores on October 07, 2020 for an outstanding warrant for Theft of a Firearm. Flores was found to be in possession of drugs and was additionally charged with Possession of Controlled Substance PG 3.

Flores was transported to our main Police Station to speak with detectives.   An additional warrant for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon ($100,000 Bond) related to the October 4th shooting was secured.   Flores was later transported to the City Detention Center on all three charges.
