Corpus Christi Detectives have confirmed that 62-year-old Marcus Allen Brown (01/15/1956) has been found deceased in Pleasanton, Texas.  Marcus Brown had an outstanding warrant for the recent bank robbery that took place on June 22, 2018.

There is no additional information to be released at this time, as this case is still considered an open investigation.

At approximately 3:39 PM on June 22, 2018 Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to a Robbery at a Credit Union located on the 2600 block of Rodd Field Rd.

Upon arrival officers determined that a robbery had occurred and that during the commission of the robbery a suspicious item was purposely left behind.  In response to the unidentified item being left behind by the suspect, officers ensured that all parties inside of the credit union were evacuated.  

As a precautionary measure, members of the Corpus Christi Bomb Squad were dispatched to the scene in an effort to determine whether the suspicious item presented a threat.

Once the item was deemed to be safe and there was no verified threat to the location, Detectives began their investigation into the robbery.

The suspect was described as between 55-60 years of age, standing 5’08-6’00, weighing between 180-210 pounds, with white facial hair, wearing a long sleeve blue in color button down shirt, blue jeans, brown cowboy boots, eyeglasses with black rims and a light brown or beige cowboy hat.  

The suspect left the scene with an undisclosed amount of money and in an unknown direction.

An anti-prostitution sting conducted by the Corpus Christi Police Department’s Narcotics and Vice Investigations Division Thursday afternoon resulted in the arrest of seven men on charges of prostitution, a class B misdemeanor punishable by up to six months in jail and fines up to $2,000.  The men were arrested after they solicited an undercover CCPD Officer, posing as a prostitute, for sex acts in exchange for money.  The operation targeted several north and west side neighborhoods frequented by prostitutes.

NVID Detectives were assisted in the operation by Directed Patrol and Uniform Division Officers, as well as civilians with the Red Cord Program.  The Red Cord Program is a prostitution diversion program aimed to provide practical and emotional support for those involved in prostitution. The program is successful due to the collaboration between Coastal Bend Wellness Foundation, social service organizations, Nueces County District Attorney Office, and Corpus Christi Police Department.  The program affords those involved with sex work an opportunity to address the myriad of behavioral, social, and psychological problems they have faced throughout their lifetime. Since 2013, Red Cord has provided case management, health services, job training, substance abuse treatment, clothing, housing, counseling, and other social services needed to address the circumstances related to their involvement in prostitution.  Participants who successfully complete the program have their cases dismissed by the District Attorney’s Office.

Six of the seven men arrested during Thursday’s operation agreed to attend a voluntary prostitution diversion education program at their expense.  This program educates men about the negative consequences of prostitution, circumstances that may lead someone to purchase sex, and the impact they have on the individual they attempt to solicit sex in exchange for money.  The fees raised from this program are then used to provide some of the resources mentioned above, to assist women seeking to escape the bondage of prostitution.

Although often inaccurately referred to as a “victimless” crime, prostitution is inextricably linked to multiple other crimes including assault, human trafficking, sexual abuse, drug abuse, and the spread of sexually transmitted infectious disease.  Neighborhoods where prostitution is prevalent experience a drastic degradation of the quality of life that citizens expect and deserve.  The Corpus Christi Police Department will continue to collaborate with all government and private entities to combat prostitution and help accomplish our mission of working with the community to reduce crime, reduce the fear of crime and enhance public safety.

Corpus Christi Police Department Investigators need your help identifying this aggravated robbery suspect.  A suspect entered a business located on the 1500 block of Airline.  The suspect grabbed a tool and walked out of the store with the item inside of a shopping cart, with no attempt to pay for the item.  When an employee attempted to stop the male, the suspect lifted his shirt, displaying a handgun to the employee and proceeded to exit the store.   The suspect was last seen exiting the establishment through the front entrance.

The suspect is described as a white male, slim build, wearing a white shirt, gray sweat pants, black shoes and a white ball cap.

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1700 block of Robin Dr. in reference to an unconscious child with CPR in progress. The Officers arrived and were informed by CCFD Medics that the 4-year-old male was deceased. Officers observed the child inside the house and saw bruising on his body. Officers immediately secured the scene and detained a 26-year-old female and a 28-year-old male. Detectives were called to the scene and transported the two suspects to the main station to be interviewed. Detectives developed enough probable cause to arrest Amanda Rose Pinon (07-02-1991) and Michael Duty (12-12-1989) for capital murder. Michael Duty was also found to have 2 warrants for his arrest. Both suspects were transported to the City Detention Center and booked on the charges. Two other children that were inside the residence were placed in temporary custody of Child Protective Services.
