38 Year Old Man Dies In What Appears To Be A Case Of Excited Delirium

CCPD Officers responded to several calls of a disturbance with destruction inside an apartment unit at the Costa Tarragona Apartment Complex.  The first arriving Officers reported that a 38 year old male was behaving violently and irrationally.   They suspected he was suffering from drug intoxication or drug induced excited delirium.  Officers immediately requested CCFD EMS and attempted to calm the person.  Paramedics arrived and transported the individual to Spohn Shoreline Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Four CCPD Officers have been placed on administrative leave as per department policy.  This leave requirement is not punitive in nature.   Policy requires that the Officers be interviewed by a staff psychologist prior to returning to work.

This death is being investigated by CCPD, The Nueces County District Attorneys Office, and The Nueces County Medical Examiners Office.

Corpus Christi Police Officers would like help from the public to locate a missing, disabled teen.

Eric Matthew Hernandez was reported missing on March 15, 2018 and was last seen approximately one hour ago.  Eric is a special needs child and is non-verbal.

Eric was last seen on the 300 block of Bartlett Drive. Eric is described as a 13-year-old male who stands 5 feet 2 inches tall, approximately 92 pounds, with dark brown hair and brown eyes.  Eric was last seen wearing a gray shirt and white shorts.

NUECES COUNTY WANTED PERSON

Nueces County Sheriffs Office is asking for your help to locate 30-year-old Armando Deanda (07/16/1987) who has an outstanding warrant out of Nueces County for Motion to Revoke/ Possession of controlled Substance/No Bond.  Deanda is also wanted on a Felony Warrant for Smuggling of Aliens.

Deanda is described as a 30-year-old male who stands 5′ 07″, weighs approximately 165 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes and a goatee. Deanda has a tattoo which reads “NUNE” on the right side of his neck and a tattoo which reads “BOY” on his right leg.

Corpus Christi Police Department Investigators need your help identifying this aggravated robbery suspect. A suspect entered an establishment located on the 2000 block of Airline.  The suspect initially advised the clerk that he forget his wallet and would be back shortly.  The suspect returned about five minutes later, approached the register, displayed a handgun to the cashier and demanded money.  The employee complied with the demands and handed over the entire cash drawer.  The suspect removed the cash and was last seen exiting the establishment through the rear exit. The suspect is described as a 17-20 year old male, wearing a beanie which appeared to have an American flag design, blue jacket, and blue jogging pants with a white line down the side.

CCPD Is Investigating A Shooting In The 2700 Block Of Waldron Road

At about 10:20 a.m. this morning, CCPD officers were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 2700 block of Waldron Road.  A 17 year old male reported that he had been shot in the hand.

The initial report to police was that this injury occurred as part of a robbery near  Caribbean and Laguna Shores Drive.   Investigators now believe that the shooting might have been accidental in nature and might have occurred at the apartment complex.  This investigation is ongoing.

FBISD was notified about this incident.  The apartment complex is one block away from the FBISD  School Campus.

Patrol Report February 26, 2018

Location: 1400 Corban Dr.
Offense: Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon
Case Number: 1802250023

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Corban Dr. in reference to a disturbance with injuries. Officers were advised by dispatch that the male involved possibly had a gun and the female involved had a knife. Officers arrived and contacted the 27 year old male outside of the apartment. Officers detained the male and made contact with the 31 year old female victim. The victim advised that the suspect became upset after she disciplined her son. She advised that the suspect pushed her down to the ground. The victim advised that she got up and pushed the suspect out the front door. The victim advised that the male pulled a handgun from his waistband and pointed it at her. The suspect then re-entered the apartment, pushed her down to the ground and began choking her. The victim stated that she had a hard time breathing but was able to brandish a knife and get free of the suspects grip. Officers spoke to a 12 year old female that was inside the residence and verified the victims story. Officers located the gun under some household items inside the residence. Officers arrested Michael Joel Hull (06-12-1990) for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. A search incident was conducted and officers found a pill bottle not belonging to the suspect with a mixture of pills in it. He was additionally charged and transported to the City Detention Center.

Offense: UUMV, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Fraudulent use and Possession of Identifying Information

Corpus Christi Police Officers were following up on information in the 10900 block of Mayfield Dr. The information was in reference to a suspect that had been stealing cars and committing theft in the area. The suspect was also suppose to be in a white stolen Ford pick up. Officers arrived and observed a white Ford pick up in the driveway. As officers approached they observed a suspect asleep in the drivers seat. Officers gave several commands for the suspect to open the door. The suspect refused and the officers broke a window and unlocked the door. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. Officers investigated and found the LP on the truck did not belong to it and the truck had been reported stolen. Officers located what they believed to be methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Officers arrested Kurt Clyde Solis (01-05-1990) and during a search incident to arrest found various ID cards and a debit card that did not belong to him in his back pocket. Officers transported Kurt Solis to the City Detention Center.

Offense: Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to 9800 SPID in reference to a stabbing. Upon arrival officers contacted the 57 year old male victim. The victim was bleeding from his back and handed the officers a large kitchen knife. The victim told officers that the 64 year old female suspect became upset during an argument and stabbed him. The victim stated that he arrived home about 30 minutes prior to the call and began drinking with the suspect. He stated that the suspect began arguing for no reason and confronted him in the living room. The argument escalated and the suspect went to the kitchen, got a knife and stabbed the victim. The victim was able to get the knife from the suspect. Officers made contact with the suspect and arrested her without incident. Officers transported Lucinda Finley (09-16-1953) to the City Detention Center. The victim was treated at the scene for a non-life threatening injury.
