In December 2024 during the overnight hours, this male set fire to two large excavators in the 1700 block of Brownlee Blvd.

UPDATE: On March 10, 2025, CCPD officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1900 block of Melissa Ln. CCFD along with CCPD located a male deceased inside of the residence.
On March 11, 2025, the medical examiner confirmed the identity of the male to be Abel Sanchez. Currently there are no indications of foul play.

Abel was reported missing last month by his family. Abel suffers from seizures and needs his medication.
Abel is described as 54-year-old Hispanic male who stands 5’6” tall, weighs approximately 200 lbs., has black hair and brown eyes.

On March 3, 2025, this suspect stole jewelry from a store located in the 5400 block SPID.
The suspect is described to be a young Hispanic male about 5’10” tall. He was wearing a white sweater and black jeans at the time.

On March 9, 2025, at approximately 12:43 pm offender Alexander Falke was medically cleared and released from the hospital. He was transported to the city detention center for booking where he was charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer and evading arrest in a vehicle.
ORIGINAL POST: On Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 10:45 pm, officers with the Corpus Christi Police Department initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on the 5500 block of Saratoga.
The vehicle evaded from officers, going through various business parking lots, and ultimately entered an apartment complex. The vehicle came to a dead-end point in the complex, and while officers were exiting the marked unit to initiate a high-risk traffic stop, the vehicle intentionally struck the police unit. One officer discharged his duty weapon multiple times, striking the offender.
The male was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and upon release will be charged with 2 counts of aggravated assault on a peace officer and evading in a motor vehicle. The two officers involved, operating in a two-man unit capacity, were not injured. As per department policy, both officers will be placed on administrative leave.

On March 8, 2025, at about 12:45 am officers were dispatched to the 6500 block of Yorktown Blvd in reference to a shooting. Updates stated the offender left the location in a vehicle south on Cimarron Blvd. Multiple witnesses on scene were able to give a description of the fleeing vehicle along with the identity of the shooter.
As multiple officers arrived in the area, they contacted one victim at Staples and Yorktown. The 21-year-old male had non-life-threatening injuries. He was treated on scene.
The male victim told officers he arrived at the establishment to pick someone up when he was confronted in the parking lot. The offender attempted to take property from the victim. As the victim began to run away, he was shot. The offender left the scene in his vehicle as he continued to fire several more shots towards the business.
During this time officers were able to locate the offender who came to a dead end near Samba Dr.
Officers gave commands to the offender who attempted to evade. The offender was tazed then taken into custody. A firearm was recovered from the offender. His vehicle was also impounded.
27-year-old Isaac Rene Martinez was transported to a local hospital for medical clearance then taken to the city detention center for booking. He was charged with aggravated robbery, deadly conduct-discharge firearm, and evading arrest.
With Spring Break upon us, the Corpus Christi Police Department has a few reminders for the residents and visitors to our wonderful city.
Please be patient. Traffic may be congested as you make your way to the beach. The Corpus Christi Police Department will have additional officers patrolling the beach and roadways.
Don’t drink and drive. Know the Beach Rules:
On ALL beaches:
No glass bottles or glass containers
Must be 21 years old to consume alcohol
Dispose of litter in trash receptacles
No canopies left overnight
On Gulf beaches – Additional Rules:
Speed limit is 15 mph. All traffic laws apply including Driving While Intoxicated
Beach Parking Permits (valid/current) are required
No Campfires or Bonfires Allowed due to a Burn Ban in effect for Nueces County
No dogs are allowed on the beach (leashed or unleased) from Access Rd 3 to Zahn Rd including the north side of the Packery Channel (city ordinance 10-59).
Dogs must be on a leash or under/obey verbal commands on the beach from the south side of Packery Channel (BM 210) to Beach Access Rd 6 (BM 137) (includes Ellis Beach, Whitecap Beach, Padre Balli Park and Bob Hall Pier).
No Golf Carts or Off-Highway Vehicles (OHVs) allowed on Park Rd 22, SH361, or any road with a speed limit of more than 35 mph.
Camping:
Prohibited in front of condos and hotels
Allowed for 3 days & nights consecutively, but no more than 6 days within 1 month.
On North Beach and McGee Beach – Additional Rules:
No driving on the beach
No BBQ pits allowed
No moonwalks or other inflatable games
No campfires
Dogs must be on a leash or under verbal command

The Auto Theft Task Force at the Corpus Christi Police Department is urging gun owners to keep their firearms secure. Too often, guns left in unlocked vehicles are stolen, putting our community at risk.
🚫 Leaving a firearm in your car, especially unsecured, makes it an easy target for thieves. Take the extra step to protect your gun, yourself, and our community.
Remember: 🔹 Always remove your gun from your car if possible. 🔹 If you must leave it in your vehicle, secure it in a locked compartment. 🔹 Never leave firearms in plain sight.
Gun safety starts with all of us. If you like it, *lock it*. Let’s keep Corpus Christi safe!
