Directed Patrol Officers assisted  Code Enforcement with an inspection at 3930 Baldwin Boulevard.  Officers arrested Jose Garcia Romero (05/20/68) who had an outstanding Nueces County warrant for Contempt of Court and booked at the City Detention Center.

Several individuals at the location were found to be in the country illegally and turned over to United States Customs and Border Patrol Agents.

Offense: Burglary of a Motor Vehicle

The Corpus Christi Police Auto Theft Task Force would like help from the public to identify and locate two men responsible for a burglary to a motor vehicle that happened at 2833 South Padre Island Drive on June 7, 2013.

A man reported to the Corpus Christi Police that someone broke the passenger rear door window to his silver 2007 Chevy Avalanche and took his radio. The man explained that he went out of the store at about 4:20pm on June 7, 2013 and walked to his vehicle and discovered his door window broken and his radio on the ground. The man said there were two men who stood next to the vehicle. The man said he confronted the two men and the two men walked away.

Police Investigators now have video surveillance images of the two men who may have caused the damage to the vehicle.

One man is described as a Hispanic male about 20 years of age who wore a blue polo shirt, blue and white plaid shorts, white socks and black shoes. The second man is described as a black male about 20 years of age who wore a green shirt with short striped sleeves, green athletic shorts, and black shoes.

The Corpus Christi Police Department is asking the public’s help in locating three wanted individuals  who have outstanding warrants for their arrest.  If you see any of these people, do not approach them.

LeeRoy Villalobos (12/30/72) is wanted for Fraud (Third Degree Felony~$10,000 Bond). He is an Asian male,  with black hair and brown eyes, is 5’5″ feet tall,  and weighs 185 lbs.

Armando Delmoral (04/07/68) is wanted for a Parole Violation warrant for Failure to Appear on a Larceny charge. No Bond.  He is a White male, with brown hair and brown eyes, is 5’9″ feet tall, and weighs 175 lbs.

Emmitt Moraida (10/01/95) is wanted for a Nueces County warrant for Failure to Comply for an Evading Arrest charge. No Bond.  No photo available at this time.

Corpus Christi Animal Care Services Has New Program Manager

The Corpus Christi Animal Care Services has a new program manager, Heather Hedrick.

Mrs. Hedrick completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s of Business Administration. She holds a Master Peace Officer license from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education and is a certified High School Teacher from the State Board of Education.

Mrs. Hedrick taught Criminal Justice and Firefighting in public schools for the past four years. Mrs. Hedrick was the Animal Services Director for the city of Coppell in Dallas County prior to her teaching.

Mrs. Hedrick chose to move to Corpus Christi after her husband retired from firefighting. Mrs. Hedrick said she couldn’t sit still and she felt compelled to do something constructive. Mrs. Hedrick was attentive to the Animal Care Services because of her passion for animals and applied to be the program manager once the position became available.

Mrs. Hedrick brings her experience to accomplish several goals for the Animal Care Services in Corpus Christi. Mrs. Hedrick said she wants the Animal Care Facility to be a pleasant place for the public. “I want everyone to see this place, not as a pound or someplace negative,” Hedrick explained, “this is a positive place to rescue animals.”

Mrs. Hedrick provided a list of goals for the Animal Care Services staff, for volunteers, and for the building maintenance. Mrs. Hedrick shows her passion for animals and invites the community to visit the Corpus Christi Animal Care Services at 2626 Holly Road in Corpus Christi. Police Looking for Wanted Man

DwaineCowleyThe Corpus Christi Police Department is asking the public’s help in locating Dwaine Steven Cowley (03/03/76) who has an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Cowley is wanted on a Motion to Revoke Probation for an  Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon charge (No Bond).  He is also wanted for a Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $417.25.

Cowley is a White male with blonde hair and blue eyes, standing six feet tall, and weighing 160 pounds.

Animal Care Services In The Running

Corpus Christi Animal Care Services is proud to announce their current standing in the Rachael Ray Challenge.

The Rachael Ray Challenge started June 1, 2013 and will continue through August 31. The totals have been posted on the ASPCA Rachael Ray Challenge leader board. They are ranked 9th overall, and 2nd in division 4. The ranking is based on increase in live release of animals compared to June – Aug of 2012.

Police responded to the Anchor Resort Condominiums where two men reported  being robbed at gunpoint.  The men were sitting inside the enclosed foyer area using their computer laptop when the two suspects walked in and demanded the laptop.  The men took the victims laptop and wallet.  Both men received minor injuries during the robbery, but refused medical treatment.

The two suspects are only described as a Hispanic man and a Black man and last seen wearing bandanas over their faces.  Both men fled in a small red vehicle.

At 12:57am, Officers were dispatched to Bay Point Resort Apartments for another armed robbery.  The 17-year-old woman reported her red Mustang being stolen at gunpoint as she entered the gate code.  The victim had stepped out of her car to enter the gate code when a small red vehicle pulled into the entrance.  Two men exited the car and approached her, taking her Mustang at gunpoint.  The woman was uninjured.

Both suspects are described as Hispanic men, 30 to 40 years of age, and standing 5’6″ feet tall.  Both men fled in the Mustang, followed by the small red car.  Both vehicles were last seen northbound on Ennis Joslin Road.

The Mustang was recovered and a 15-year-old juvenile was detained.  For additional information see the following post.

An Officer observed the stolen Mustang being gassed up at the convenience store at Yorktown and Cimmaron.  The suspects observed the Officer and fled.  During the pursuit, the driver of the Mustang made a u-turn, hit a police car, and kept going.  The pursuit ended in Crossgate park where the Mustang and a police unit became stuck in the mud.  Two suspects fled on foot, while a 15-year-old remained in the car.  Officers detained the juvenile, while Officers searched for the other two suspects.

The K9 Unit was called to assist and “Kimbo” and his partner were able to locate a firearm as well as track the suspects to the 5500 block of Crossvalley.  The two suspects were not located.  It is unknown at this time if both robberies are related.  The investigation is ongoing and being conducted by the Police Department’s Homicide/Robbery Bureau.

The 15-year-old was booked at the Nueces County Juvenile Justice Center and charged with Aggravated Robbery and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.

MichaelQuirozPolice pulled over a black GMC Yukon for an expired inspection sticker and contacted the driver Michael Quiroz (07/04/93) who was found to be driving with an expired driver’s license and no proof of insurance.

Quiroz was arrested and charged with Driving While License Invalid, two outstanding Nueces County warrants for Contempt of Court and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.  He was additionally charged with Possession of Marijuana when a small quantity was found in the vehicle.

Patrol Officers received information from Officers with the Gang Unit that Pedro Luis Torres (10/22/85) was wanted for a Nueces County warrant.  Officers pulled over a Pontiac G6 in which Torres was a passenger.  Torres was arrested and charged with the outstanding Nueces County warrant for Motion to Revoke Probation.

Drugs and Weapon Seized by Narcotics Officers

Officers with the Corpus Christi Police Department Narcotics Vice Investigations Unit along with the assistance of the S.W.A.T. Team served a search warrant at 6402 Weber Road.  The warrant was served as a result of an ongoing investigation into drug dealing from one of the apartment’s in the complex.  Investigators recovered approximately 5.4 grams of Crack Cocaine and a stolen firearm.

Eric Richard Garza (01/26/80) and Jimmy Rafael Alvarado (09/15/75) were both arrested and booked at the City Detention Center.  Garza and Alvarado were both charged with Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a Second Degree Felony.  Garza was additionally charged with Theft of a Firearm (State Jail Felony) and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon (Third Degree Felony).
