Man Wanted for Two Home Burglaries

The Corpus Christi Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Noe Oscar Vela (11/16/1992) who is wanted for two counts of Burglary of a Habitation.  One count has a $40,000 bond, while the second count has a $50,000 bond.  Vela is accused of burglarizing two Concord Street homes where approximately $3,300 in televisions, perfumes, and two laptop computers taken.

To kick off the Auto Theft Task Force’s July initiative to reduce auto crimes, Lieutenant Chris White will hold a press conference to provide statistics on auto burglaries and auto thefts.  “Protect it, it’s yours” is the new campaign the ATTF, along with the Texas Auto Burglary and Theft Prevention Authority, will be promoting to remind citizens of the belongings they own and how to protect them.  An opportunity will be provided to obtain footage of vehicles with the potential for criminal activity.

The Corpus Christi Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Patricia Ann Zamora (09/29/1982) who is wanted for Theft (State Jail Felony Enhanced) with two or more prior misdemeanor theft convictions.  Zamora is accused of stealing approximately $250 worth of video games from Target. There is a $20,000 bond on the outstanding warrant.

CCPD and CCFD were called to the residence for a drowning.  A neighbor found the 67-year-old face down in the pool and called 911.  The man was pronounced deceased by emergency personnel.

Police were called to the residence for a robbery and contacted the victim who reported he was at home “drinking and having a good time” when he noticed two of his friends walking away with his lawnmower.  The victim confronted the men and they began assaulting him.  The men left, but were found by Officers as they hid in the bushes at 900 Bobalo Drive.

Christopher Joe Kirkpatrick (11/21/90) and Jonathan Andrew Hargis (05/06/92) were arrested and booked at the City Detention Center.  Both men were charged with Robbery. Hargis was additionally charged with an outstanding Municipal Court warrant.  The lawnmower was found nearby and returned to the victim.

Corpus Christi Homicide/Robbery Detectives are investigating the kidnapping and sexual assault of a 24-year-old woman which occurred in the early morning hours of June 25, 2013.  The woman told police a man approached her as she arrived home and demanded her purse at knifepoint.  He then grabbed her and forced her into a red vehicle.

The man drove them to a parking lot at 3100 block of Ocean where he sexually assaulted the woman.  Detectives are looking for a Hispanic male, 20 to 30 years of age, 5’8 to 5’10” feet tall, and weighing 150 to 185 lbs.

Two men and a woman were arrested after police were called to the residence for a home invasion in progress.  Officers began arriving in the area and detained Adrian Louis Belt (01/15/94) after he began to run from an officer.  A blue Ford Expedition was parked in front of the residence occupied by Crystal Barrera (09/17/87) who was also detained.  Officers were able to recover a firearm from inside the SUV.  An Officer searching the neighborhood located another suspect,Clarence Oritez MIller (09/22/90) hiding next to a home.

The victims told Officers they answered a knock on the door and two Black  men forced their way in at gunpoint; robbing and assaulting them. A 49-year-old woman and her 57-year-old man were taken to Spohn Memorial with non-life threatening injuries.  A 34-year-old man was also treated by CCFD Emergency Personnel.

Belt and Miller were arrested and charged with Aggravated Robbery and Burglary of a Habitation~Intend Other Felony.  Belt was additionally charged with Evading Arrest. Barrera was also arrested and charged with Aggravated Robbery, Unlawful Possession of Firearm by a Felon.  Barrera was additionally charged with Abandon/Endanger a Child with Intent to Return when it was discovered she left her 2,3, and 6-year-old boys home alone.  Officer’s checked on Barrera’s children and found them asleep.  The children’s grandparents arrived to watch over them.

Can You ID Cigarette Thief?

Corpus Christi Property Crimes Detectives are asking the public’s assistance in identifying a man involved in the theft of approximately $700 worth of cigarettes. Store surveillance video shows the man walking in the office area and taking the cigarettes.  He then exits the store and leaves in a SUV with an unidentified woman.

The suspect is described as a bald Black male, 30 to 40 years of age, weighing 230 to 250 lbs and standing 6′ to 6’4″ feet tall.  The man was wearing a blue shirt which he removed, walking out in a black muscle t-shirt.  He was accompanied by a blond White female, 28 to 35 years of age, 5’5″ to 5’8″ feet tall and weighing 200 lbs.  Both the man and the woman fled in a red Ford Explorer Sport.

Officers were dispatched to Ayers Street and Ocean Drive for a traffic accident involving a bicyclist.  As they arrived, Officers observed a CCFD Captain detaining two males, next to a bicycle .  Further investigation revealed Patrick Lee Grant (12/22/94) identified himself as a police officer and tackled the victim in an attempt to handcuff him just prior the Fire Captain’s arrival.

Grant was armed with two pairs of plastic handcuffs when he identified himself as a police officer to the victim.  Officers arrested Grant and charged him with Unlawful Restraint and Impersonating a Public Servant.  Grant’s bicycle was decked out with red and white flashing lights.  The bicycle along with the handcuffs were tagged as evidence.

The 56-year-old victim was uninjured when Grant tackled him to the ground.

A 39-year-old man attempted to run a 33-year-old man with a red 2009 Nissan Sentra.  The victim was able to get out-of-the-way prior to being run over.  It appears a 27-year-old woman, which both men are dating is the cause of the dispute.  The driver has been identified and the investigation will be conducted by the Criminal Investigation Division.

The Police and Fire Departments were called to Evelyn Price Park for a vehicle set on fire.  First responders arrived to find a fully engulfed silver Infiniti.  Due to the extensive fire damage, fire fighters were unable to determine what caused the fire until Arson Investigators conduct their investigation.

Police responding to a theft call were told the suspect had fled to 1800 block of Hudson Street.  Officers checked a storage shed behind the residence and observed two legs covered with a blanket and women’s underclothes. As the 14-year-old teenager was being escorted to the 1900 block of Hudson, Officers could see similar women’s clothing hanging on the clothesline.

Police contacted the homeowner and she positively identified the undergarments valued at $180.  The juvenile was placed in police custody and booked at the Nueces County Juvenile Justice Center.  He was charged with Theft which is a Class “B” Misdemeanor punishable by a $2,000 fine and 180 days in jail.

Police were flagged down by a Stripes clerk who reported a red car being chased by a pickup truck with items falling out of its open trunk.  Officers spotted the red Jetta, driven by Chelsea Breanna Cervantes (12/25/93) travelling at a high rate of speed.  The driver of the truck chasing it, flagged down the Officer and told him she had just broken into his pickup truck.  Officers pulled over Jetta and Cervantes was positively identified as the person burglarizing the victim’s truck.

Cervantes was arrested and booked at the City Detention Center.  She was charged with Burglary of a Vehicle and additionally charged with Fraudulent Use of Possession of identifying Information when several credit cards belonging to different victims were found in her possession.

Officers recovered $5,000 worth of medical gear and returned the items to the auto burglary victim.
