Keep everything off the trigger until on target; 4. Be sure of the target and what is beyond the target.

Discharging a firearm inside the city limits is very dangerous and Police urge everyone not to discharge firearms in the air in a celebratory manner for New Year’s. The violation is a Class A Misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail and up to a $4,000 fine if no one is injured. When the bullet returns to the ground, the projectile may strike a person and is capable of causing serious injury or death. Celebrate responsibly and leave the firearms in a safe place.
