UPDATE: The San Antonio Police advised our detectives that Hough had been arrested.

The Corpus Christi Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in helping them locate a wanted person. Sean Michael Hough (07/23/1982) is wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for a bank robbery that was committed on October 21, 2014 in the 200 block of South Shoreline Blvd. at the International Bank of Commerce. He is 5’8” tall and weighs 135 pounds with blonde hair and green eyes. There is a $50,000 bond set on the warrant. We ask that anyone with any information on his whereabouts to call Corpus Christi Police at 361-886-2600. DWI Numbers, Don’t Be The Next One.

The Corpus Christi Police Traffic Safety Section released statistics related to the offenses associated with driving while intoxicated for the year to date.

The Corpus Christi Police Department  has made 1195 arrests as of October 27, 2014  for Driving While Intoxicated or Driving Under the Influence which is a 20% increase from the same time last year.

The Corpus Christi Police Traffic Safety Section further recorded the following statistics:

405         Suspects consented to give a sample of their breath
284         Suspects consented to give a sample of their blood

Corpus Christi Police Officers were on the scene of a crash involving a vehicle that had rolled over after striking another vehicle and some traffic barrels, when a police unit was struck and destroyed.

A 40 year old man with his 2 year old son were traveling west on State Highway 358 in a 2007 Nissan Altima when the driver made an unsafe lane change and struck a 2002 Chevrolet Impala driven by a 50 year old male. The driver of the Nissan lost control after striking the Impala and it struck some traffic barrels and then flipped over. No one was injured in that crash.

An officer arrived to investigate that crash and positioned his police unit in the far right lane of the freeway. The officer then got out of his unit and walked up to the accident scene when a 2006 Ford Mustang collided into the back of the parked police unit and it was immediately engulfed in flames.

The driver of the Ford Mustang, Jorge Ortiz (07/12/1974), was determined to be intoxicated and was arrested. The west bound lanes of the freeway were shut down for several hours until both accidents were able to be cleared off of the highway. There were no injuries in any of these vehicles.

CCPD Monthly Auto Auction

The City of Corpus Christi will auction over 88 cars, trucks,  vans and  motorcycles at the Corpus Christi Police Vehicle Impound Lot located at 5485 Greenwood Drive on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. The general public is encouraged to register and view the vehicles for auction from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 31. The general public can also  register and view the vehicles again from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on the day of the auction. The vehicles for auction may be viewed online and an auction list may be downloaded from http://www.siskauction.com.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a crash in the 5600 block of Ocean Drive and found a 2007 Volkswagen Golf passenger car had struck a light pole in the center median. The collision caused the light pole to fall over and become wedged underneath the vehicle. The light pole was also partially in the street blocking traffic. After an investigation it was determined that the driver, Simon Aubin (02/21/1990) was intoxicated and he was arrested. No one was in the car with the driver, and no other vehicles were involved in the crash. AEP responded to the scene to cut power to the pole and assess the damage. Damage to the light pole was estimated to be about $1000.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a dispute between two neighbors in the 5800 block of Bonner Dr.  A 46 year old male victim told officers that he was drinking with his neighbor in the front yard of his neighbors home when he threw a beer bottle and it broke in his neighbor’s driveway. The neighbor, Trevor Hicks (02/07/1972), told the victim to clean up the glass and when the victim refused the two began to fight. Once the fight ended, the victim went to get his dog that was running loose so he could leave. The neighbor went inside his home and retrieved a machete. The neighbor threatened the victim by placing the tip against his chest, and he hit him in the back of his legs with the blade. The suspect with the machete was arrested, and charged with aggravated assault, a second degree felony. The victim was treated at the scene by CCFD EMS but refused to be taken to the hospital for minor injuries to the back of his legs.

Corpus Christi Police Theft Detectives need your help identifying a man that jumped on top of store shelves and attempted to use bolt cutters to cut off a lock inside the HEB Plus! located at 5313 Saratoga Blvd. The suspect began his shopping trip by prying open the cologne case sliding glass door and removing a bottle.  He then forced off the spider wire wrapped around an electric razor. He then placed the cologne in his pocket, and the razor in his boot. The suspect then asks the store manager if they sell bolt cutters, and after being shown where they were, the suspect uses them in an attempt to cut the lock off the security gate where electronics are stored. The thief is unsuccessful at breaking the lock, but does break the bolt cutters in the process.  The gate alarm is activated, and the thief goes to the next aisle over and climbs the shelving and walks on top of the shelves until he reaches the entertainment section and jumps down.  The suspect then steals a wireless audio speaker, which he stuffs in his pants after kneeling down between aisles and cutting off the security webbing.  The suspect appears to be either a white or Hispanic male, 40 to 50 years old wearing jeans, black dress shoes, a white button down shirt, a dark tie and a dark colored Fedora hat. Anyone who can identify the individual responsible, or has any additional information about this crime should call the Corpus Christi Police Property Crimes Detectives at 886-2840. A 26 year old male victim called Corpus Christi Police and told officers that he was playing video games in his apartment when his common law spouse grabbed the controller out of his hand and threw it across the room. The two had been arguing about their children earlier.  The female then got on top of him and began punching him several times in the face and bit him on his left arm.  The victim attempted to hold her down but she broke free and went into the kitchen and grabbed a knife.  The female made threats to the male while holding the knife and the male left the apartment to call police.  Officers arrived and observed injuries to the male and after an investigation they arrested, Norma Bueno (07/08/1982), for aggravated assault, a first degree felony.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a bomb threat at the state parole office located at 5233 Interstate Highway 37. When officers arrived a female who works in the office told police that she answered the phone and a female caller stated she had exited the building and had overheard two males say there was a bomb in the building. The female caller would not give any more information. The number which the female suspect called from returned to a payphone at 5175 Interstate Highway 37, the Exxon gas station, which is located nearby. The office building was evacuated for a short time while officers searched for any suspicious items.  Workers were allowed to return a short time later.

Patrol Report October 20, 2014

Location: 3800 Reynosa Street
Offense: Death Investigation

A 16 year old male was accidentally shot and killed by his 24 year old brother while they were drawing a 9mm handgun from a holster that the older brother was wearing. The two were in a back apartment behind a home located in the 3800 block of Reynosa Street.  The two had gotten together to watch a television show when the older brother who was wearing a holster and weapon began to draw the pistol. The 16 year old victim was struck once in the chest by a single gunshot.  The mother of the two men was also at the apartment at the time of the shooting.  The victim was transported by CCFD EMS to Spohn MCC were he was later pronounced dead. Corpus Christi Police Detectives arrived and are still investigating this case, however at this time no arrests have been made and at this case appears to be an accidental shooting.
