Detectives Release Video of Suspect Vehicle In Attempted Kidnapping Case on Hudson Street

Corpus Christi Police Detectives who investigate crimes against children have released video of a suspect vehicle related to an attempted kidnapping case that happened at Prescott and Hudson in front of Cunningham Middle School yesterday morning.

Detectives are looking for a dark blue 2002 model or newer Chevy Malibu or Chevy Impala. Detectives believe the car has aftermarket wheels and faded paint on the hood.  Detectives believe the driver is a male with dark hair and a mustache.  Detectives do not know if this vehicle is related to any other similar cases and are focused on this vehicle specifically for the attempted kidnapping case on Hudson.

Police Investigate Afternoon Shooting on Airport Road

Corpus Christi Police are investigating a possible shooting which injured a 32 year old man at a home on the 400 block of Airport Road Friday afternoon.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a complaint of a shooting at a duplex home on the 400 block of Airport Road at 3:15pm Friday afternoon. Officers found a 32 year old man with obvious injuries that appeared to be gunshot wounds. A neighbor told Officers that they heard loud sounds which may have been gunshots, saw the injured 32 year old man, and then called Police.

The 32 year old man was taken by ambulance to the hospital and has life threatening injuries according to Officers at the scene. Officers were provided information that an adult male with dark skin, short hair, and about 140 pounds was near a white Chevy Impala just before the sounds were heard the injured man was discovered. Detectives would like help from the public to locate that man and the vehicle. Detectives say no suspects have been apprehended and they continue to gather more information about this event.

Woman Reports Man Exposed Himself At Everhart & Snowgoose This Morning

A 48 year old woman reported an indecent exposure this morning at a convenience store located at Everhart and Snowgoose.

The 48 year old woman told Officers a man was standing  by the ice freezer and propane tanks outside the store at about 7am and asked her for change. When the 48 year old woman turned towards the unknown man, she noticed that he was exposing his genitals and speaking lewdly. She told Officers that she then went directly into the store to report the event and the unknown man walked north on Everhart away from the scene.

The 48 year old woman described the unknown man as about 20 years of age, with light color skin, about 6 feet tall, thin and wore a fishing hat, gray shirt, and black shorts.

Officers intend to review store video and capture images of the man to make notice to the public. Police Obtain Arrest Warrant For Bank Robber Thanks to Crime Stoppers Tips

A Crime Stoppers tip helped Corpus Christi Police Detectives to identify 20-year-old Willie Church (2/22/1996) as the suspect in the Bank Robbery at the Kleberg Bank on August 25th. Detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for Church and would now like help from the public to locate him. Church is described as a 20-year-old man with dark skin, stands 6 feet tall, 150 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes and had a last known address on the 2800 block of Tarlton.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a report of a bank robbery at the Kleberg Bank located at 4102 Baldwin Boulevard at 11:30am on August 25, 2016. The bank employees told Officers that an unknown man walked into the bank dressed in scrubs and with a red purse and possibly a wig and passed a note which demanded cash. The bank employees provided the man with cash and the man left into a nearby neighborhood. Image of the suspect were released to the public and a Crime Stoppers tip provided help to Detectives to identify the bank robbery suspect as Willie Church.

City Hosts Vehicle Auction Saturday, September 3, 2016

The City of Corpus Christi will auction 159 cars, trucks, and motorcycles at the Police Vehicle Impound Lot, located at 5485 Greenwood Drive, on Saturday, September 3, 2016. The auction will start at 10:00 am.

The general public is encouraged to register and view the vehicles for auction from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Friday, September 2, 2016. The general public can continue to view the vehicles from 8:00 am to 10:00 am on the day of the auction.

The vehicles for auction may be viewed online and an auction list may be downloaded from www.siskauction.com.

Corpus Christi Police Investigate 17th Fatal Traffic Crash of 2016

The Corpus Christi Police Traffic Safety Section investigated the 17th vehicle crash with a fatal injury of 2016 Saturday night. Corpus Christi Police responded to the 200 block of South Navigation Boulevard at 10:47pm in reference to a single vehicle crash.  Crash Investigators believe that a 43-year-old man and his 44-year-old wife were involved in a disturbance just south of the crash location.  Investigators believe the couple left the scene of the disturbance and travelled north on Navigation.  Investigators believe the 43-year-old man drove with the 44-year-old woman as the passenger.  Investigators believe the vehicle left the roadway to the right, struck a culvert, and flipped end over end several times.  The 43-year-old man was ejected and the 44-year-old woman was partially ejected.  Corpus Christi Fire Department Medics arrived and transported the 43-year-old man to the hospital for treatment.  The 44-year-old woman suffered at a minimum some broken bones.  Crash Investigators believe that the 43-year-old man had consumed alcoholic drinks before operating the vehicle.  Corpus Christi Crash Investigators marked, photographed, and Laser mapped the scene for their investigation.  Unfortunately, the 43-year-old man did not survive the crash. The 44-year-old woman is expected to recover. There were no other reports of property damage or injuries.

Corpus Christi Police Investigate Death of Infant In Flour Bluff Mobile Home Park

Corpus Christi Police are investigating the death of an 8 month old child Saturday morning at a mobile home park located at 131 Skipper Lane.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a call for a child in need of medical attention at a mobile home at 8:13am Saturday morning. Information provided to Emergency Services was that the mother co-slept in the bed with the child, and woke with the child in medical distress. Emergency Medical Services technicians at the scene informed Officers that the child was deceased at the scene. Officers summoned Detectives, the Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office, and Forensics Lab technicians to collect evidence and information.

Detectives transported the 22 year old mother and the 23 year father to Police Headquarters to get recorded statements and Detectives have identified several witnesses to attempt to understand the sequence of events leading up to, and immediately following the death of the child. The Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office took the child for an examination in order to determine the cause of death. Detectives continue to gather information in order to determine if the death was the result of a natural event, such as illness, or if it was the result of an accident. Child Protective Services were also summoned to evaluate the scene and conduct an investigation.

Corpus Christi Police Arrest Two Suspects For Murder of 13 year old Alex Torres

Alex Torres was found in the doorway of his home at 2022 Treyway #78 on the evening of Jan 13, 2015. Alex had been killed by a gunshot wound to his head. Alex was 13 years old.

Corpus Christi Police Homicide Detectives worked the case non-stop, exhausting all leads.

Over the last year and seven months Detectives have continued to investigate the case. Any and all tips were thoroughly investigated.  Crime Stoppers spots were used to try and generate more leads. Although new information was becoming scarce, detectives continued to examine the case.

Today the Corpus Christi Police Department is announcing that they have arrested 2 individuals in connection with the murder of Alex Torres.

David Lee Davila (01/02/89) and Christina Trevino (4/04/92) were both arrested in the 3400 block of Bluebonnet drive at about 6pm this evening.

In the last two days, Detectives received information concerning the incident. Detectives aggressively followed up on that information and contacted several individuals and were able to obtain enough information to acquire warrants for both Davila and Trevino.

Detectives believe that David planned a shooting in retaliation for being reported to Child Protective Services and Detectives believe Christina drove David to the area of Treyway where David shot at the wrong apartment, striking and killing Alex Torres.

Coordinating with the District Attorney’s Office, warrants for murder with $500,00 bonds were acquired for both.

They were arrested about 6pm this evening without incident.

Auto Theft Task Force Wants Help From Public To Catch Burglars

The Corpus Christi Police Auto Theft Task Force would like help from the public to identify and locate two men who are accused of breaking into a trailer on August 14th and causing property damage at a business located at 2501 South Padre Island Drive.

A 35-year-old man reported the burglary on August 15th and told Officers there was video evidence that showed two men enter the business property after the business was closed for the day, and the two men broke into a trailer. The 35-year-old man told Officers the trailer was empty and the men took a generator that was left in the fenced area with the trailer. The 35-year-old man told Officers once the two men went back to their vehicle, one of the men picked up a rock and threw the rock into a window of the business. The 35-year-old man told Officers the rock broke the window and it appears the man only threw the rock to cause damage.

Corpus Christi Crime Stoppers has a cash reward for the first person to call 888-TIPS and provides information to lead law enforcement to locate 33-year-old Elisa Rangel (10/18/1992). Rangel is a fugitive wanted out of Nueces County for fraudulent use of identifying information, a state jail felony offense.

Rangel is described as a 33-year-old woman who stands 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighs 155 pounds, has brown hair and brown eyes. Rangel has a tattoo of a ribbon and praying hands on her neck, a tattoo of a rosary and a bible on her back, and a tattoo on her right leg that reads, “Isabel.” The last known address for Rangel was on the 1400 block of 19th Street in Corpus Christi.
