The Corpus Christi Police would like help from the public to locate 31-year-old Adam Anderson (9/8/1983) who has a warrant for his arrest for two counts of assault on family members, issued out of the 117th District Court. Anderson is described as a black male with black hair and brown eyes who stands 6 feet tall, and weighs 185 pounds. Anderson has a cross tattoo on his back, “Nessa” tattooed on his right wrist, and has a design tattooed on his neck.

Crime Stoppers Releases Video of Robbery

Detectives have released video of a robbery which happened on Friday, April 3, 2015 at 2833 South Padre Island Drive in an effort to apprehend the suspects.

A 37-year-old woman told Police that she arrived at her place of employment and was attacked by a man who grabbed a bank bag from the 37-year-old woman. The 37-year-old woman told Officers she picked up money from a bank for her business and when she arrived at the business, she was attacked and the money was stolen.

The video of the attack is as shown in the upper left corner of this video when a white car pulls near the victim, a man gets out of the back seat, runs to the victim, grabs the money bag, then punches the victim several times before taking the bag and getting back into the back seat of the getaway car. the woman only recieved minor injuries.

Corpus Christi Police Robbery & Homicide Detectives have noticed this type of attack four previous times and believe this method of robbery has happened in Corpus Christi four previous times to this event since last February. The events identified by Detectives are February 13, March 6, March 13, March 27, and April 3. The common factors are that the victims have been female, wearing some clothing that identified themselves as an employee of a business, went to their business from a bank with a bank bag, and were attacked by multiple suspects. The Detectives would like everyone to be on watch for anyone seated in a car watching the front of a bank and call Police to report anything unusual.

Store Owner Fires Shots At Robbery Suspect

A 53 year old store owner fired three shots at a fleeing suspect who had stolen two cartons of cigarettes from the JK Foodmart located at 3546 South Padre Island Drive.

Corpus Christi Police arrived at the store and were told by the owner that a black Honda Accord pulled into the store parking lot and a front seat passenger got out while the driver stayed inside the vehicle.

The suspect asked the store owner for two cartons of cigarettes and then attempted to pay for them with credit cards that were denied.  When the owner told the suspect he couldn’t sell him the items, the suspect grabbed the two cartons and fled out the door of the store and got into the Honda.

While the Honda was backing out attempting to leave, the owner produced a handgun, that he kept at the store, and went out to confront the suspect.  The suspect got out of the vehicle and fled on foot and the store owner fired three rounds from a handgun.

The suspect was last seen running north on Carroll Lane.  It does not appear as though he was struck by any of the shots that were fired by the owner.

The driver of the Honda was detained by officers, but at this time no charges have been filed against him.

The suspect was not located and officers continue to investigate this crime.

Suspect Swipes Wallet

Corpus Christi Police Detectives have released camera surveillance images of a suspect they believe stole a wallet that a customer left behind on the counter at a Stripes Store on March 28.

A customer told officers that he discovered he left his wallet on the counter at the store and he immediately returned but the wallet was gone. The wallet contained several hundred dollars in cash as well as credit cards.

The clerk reviewed the store video and observed a Hispanic male wearing a black long sleeve black shirt pick up the wallet and put it in his pocket.  The suspect in this case was not located and detectives need your help in identifying this individual.

Possible Jumper DisruptsTraffic Over Harbor Bridge For An Hour

Traffic was disrupted over the Harbor Bridge for an hour Wednesday evening because a 23-year-old woman climbed the structure of the bridge outside of the public access.

Corpus Christi Police responded to several calls of a woman who climbed the support structure of the Harbor Bridge in a dangerous manner at 5:40pm. The 23-year-old woman wore a white sleeveless shirt, pink shorts, and black sandals and climbed over barricades to the top support structure of the bridge. The Corpus Christi Police Hostage Negotiators responded along with the Corpus Christi Fire Department, The Corpus Christi Port Police, and the Corpus Christi Marina Patrol. Traffic was blocked in the lanes nearest to the 23-year-old woman until 6:45pm when the 23-year-old woman climbed down from the support structure and was apprehended by Corpus Christi Police.

The Corpus Christi Police took the 23-year-old woman to the hospital for a mental health evaluation so that she may get the help she needs.

The priority for the Corpus Christi Police Department is for the 23-year-old woman to get help she seeks, but it may be possible the woman could later face criminal charges of Criminal Trespass.

Corpus Christi Police Detectives have released camera surveillance images of a suspect they believe is involved in a theft of several sunglasses on March 18.

A store employee of The Texas State Optical, located at 4117 South Staple Street, called Corpus Christi Police after a man walked in and selected two pair of sunglasses and left without paying for them.  The total value of the sunglasses was almost $400.

Detectives were able to obtain camera images from the stores security system that shows a male, 5’6” to 5’8” tall, medium build with dark hair, wearing a multi-colored long sleeve shirt, black shorts and a black and gray baseball cap.

Offense: Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon

Corpus Christi Police arrested 31-year-old Ryan Self (7/21/1983) for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, a municipal court warrant, and for several drug charges after a traffic stop on Laguna Shores Road near Rex Lane initiated for defective tail lamps.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer stopped a red 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse at 10:14pm and discovered the driver, Ryan Self, had a municipal court warrant and was arrested. The Officer impounded the Eclipse and found substances that the Officer believed were marijuana and methamphetamines along with a loaded pistol. The Officer learned Self has been previously convicted of a felony, so the Officer applied the additional charges of possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. The Officer then delivered Self to the city detention center.

Corpus Christi Police arrested 21-year-old Amanda Stowe (4/3/1993) for driving while intoxicated with a child passenger Thursday night on South Padre Island Drive.

Corpus Christi Police received calls from the public at 8:35pm about a reckless driver in a white 2014 Nissan Rogue on the freeway of South Padre Island Drive near Kostoryz. A Corpus Christi Police Officer saw the Nissan Rogue near Paul Jones Avenue and conducted a traffic stop. The Officer believed that Stowe was intoxicated and arrested her for Driving While Intoxicated. The Officer found two children as passengers in the vehicle, a 2-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl, and the children were released to the care of Stowe’s 61 year old mother. The Officer impounded the Rogue and delivered Stowe to the city detention center for Driving While Intoxicated with a child passenger, a state jail felony punishable by up to two years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.

Several loaded firearms were found unattended on the 3900 block of Willow Street Thursday. Corpus Christi Police received a call from 25-year-old man in the area of Willow Street ant Cypress about a suspicious person at about 12:30pm.  The 25-year-old man told the responding Officer that he had seen a Hispanic male, shaved head, tattoos running with a red duffel bag. The 25-year-old man told the Officer that the suspicious person then, for an unknown reason, left in the bag in the front yard of a house on the 3900 block of Willow Street.  The Officer found two loaded pistols along with miscellaneous clothing inside the bag. Officers searched the area for the suspicious person, but never found him. It is not known if the guns came from a burglary.  There were no reported auto or residential burglaries in the area as of 4pm. The Officer placed the firearms in the evidence vault for safe keeping.

Corpus Christi Police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred at 4145 South Alameda Street, the American Bank, at 11:55 this morning.

A bank employee told officers that a suspect entered the bank, presented a note to one of the female tellers that demanded cash.  The bank employee told officers the suspect then displayed a handgun. Once the teller handed over the money, the suspect fled out the front door and went around toward the back of a nearby building.

The suspect is described as being a Hispanic male, approximately 40 years old, with tattoos on his neck.  He was last seen wearing a blue baseball cap, and a blue collared shirt.

There was one customer and at least four employees inside the bank at the time of the robbery.  No one inside was injured.

Camera surveillance images of the suspect were provided to police by the bank. This suspect was not captured and the police department is asking for your help identifying this individual.

Suspects Use Stolen Credit Cards

Corpus Christi Police Detectives have released camera surveillance images of two suspects that used stolen credit cards at the CVS Store located at Everhart Road and South Staples Street on March 11.

Officers had originally been dispatched to a burglary of a vehicle at Freedom Fitness, located at 5858 S. Padre Island Drive.  A 72 year old female reported that her 2012 Honda Odyssey van had the front passenger side door window broken out and several items were stolen sometime between 5:30 and 6:30  AM.  Her credit cards  which were stolen from her van were used a short time later at the CVS Store.

Officers went to the store and were able to view surveillance images of the male and female suspects that used the stolen cards to make purchases.  Detectives now need your help in identifying these two people.

Robbery Suspect Wanted

Corpus Christi Police Detectives have secured a warrant for the arrest of a suspect they believe is involved in a robbery that occurred at 4038 S. Port Avenue, The Home Depot on January 26.

A shoplifting call was upgraded to a robbery after a male suspect assaulted a store employee to help a female friend escape.

A 50 year old store employee told officers that he observed two males and a female come into the store together and split up.  The employee was watching the female put several items from the store into her purse and then watched as she walked out without paying.

When he confronted her in the parking lot, he was attempting to escort her back to the store, when the two males she had walked into the store with came up to him and began yelling to let her go.

One of the males hit the employee in the throat with his fist and forced him to let her go.  All three suspects got into a gray Toyota Tacoma truck and left toward Port Avenue.

The arrest warrant for robbery was issued on March 17 for the man that assaulted the employee, Lloyd Allison Turner (12/02/1972), and  has a $30,000 bond amount.
