SHOOTING 4100 BRETT STREET

On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at 9:19pm, officers were dispatched to the 4100 block of Brett Street in reference to a shooting with injuries.

Officers arrived at the location and could not locate a shooting victim. Officers located a crime scene in the parking lot and spoke with witnesses.

Officers determined that a drug transaction between two males turned into a robbery when one of the males produced a firearm and shot the 18-year-old victim. The victim left the scene in a white passenger car.

At 9:25pm, officers were dispatched to a shooting call for service and located the 18-year-old shooting victim and the vehicle at the 1400 block of Painter Street. Medics transported the victim to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The suspect was not located. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male wearing a grey hoodie. Officers do not believe this to be a random act of violence.

This is still an active and ongoing investigation. AGGRAVATED ASSAULT ARREST

On November 18, 2024, at about 6:03 pm CCPD officers were dispatched to the 5700 block of Everhart Rd in reference to a stabbing. Officers arrived at the business and located a 35-year-old male victim. The male was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.

Officers secured the scene and began to contact witnesses and employees.

The preliminary investigation showed the victim was terminated from his place of employment earlier in the day. The place of employment was adjacent to where the victim was found.

Witnesses stated the victim had come back to work several times throughout the day to harass and threaten employees. The police were called several times, but the male would runaway before the police would arrive.

The last time the victim showed up he began to assault an ex-co-worker in the parking lot.

The victim then approached another ex co -worker. The ex co worker then stabbed the victim.

The offender was identified as 53-year-old Margarito Cisneros. He was ultimately arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly weapon. Cisneros was transported to the city detention center.

This is still an active investigation.

CAUGHT INTHE ACT

On 11-16-24 at about 11:12 pm officers observed a black truck exiting a driveway at IH 37 and Water St. As the truck exited, it accelerated quickly causing the rear tires to screech and rear end of the vehicle to fishtail. The driver’s behavior clearly disregarded for the safety of other motorists and pedestrians nearby.

A traffic stop was conducted of the truck and the driver was placed under arrest for reckless driving.

44-year-old Adam Perez was transported to the city detention center for booking, where he was additionally charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon. A gun was located in his vehicle at the time of the offense.

SHOWING OFF LEADS STRAIGHT TO JAIL

On 11-16-24 at about 11:24 pm officers observed a motorcycle exit a driveway in the 100 block of N. Shoreline Blvd. As the motorcycle exited it accelerated in order to peel out causing the rear tire to lose traction. The motorcycle continued south bound cutting off several vehicles as it weaved through traffic.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on the motorcycle and arrested the operator for reckless driving. The area was filled with numerous vehicles and pedestrian traffic. The operator’s actions put others in danger.

The operator was identified as 19-year-old Jonanthan Sowell. He was transported to the city detention center and his motorcycle was impounded.

RECKLESS CRASH LEADS STRAIGHT TO JAIL

On 11-16-24 CCPD officers contacted offender Wesley Hinton in a parking lot at 222 S. Shoreline Blvd.

Hinton was observed by officers, multiple witnesses and bystanders, enter the parking lot and start doing donuts with his vehicle causing him to lose control and strike a parked vehicle.

Hinton attempted to leave the parking lot was but quickly taken into custody. He was arrested for reckless driving.

Hinton was transported to the city detention center and his vehicle was impounded.

RECKLESS DRIVING=ARREST

On 11-16-24 at about 8:25 pm CCPD officers observed a silver vehicle stopped at the traffic light at Shoreline Blvd. and People St. The light turned green, and the silver vehicle accelerated rapidly causing the tires to screech and lose traction. The vehicle then sped away as it traveled near the highly populated sea wall where there was heavy pedestrian traffic.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on this vehicle on N. Shoreline Blvd and placed the driver under arrest for reckless driving.

The driver, 19-year-old Eminem Trujillo, was transported to the city detention center for booking. His vehicle was impounded.

RACING LEADS TO ARREST

On 11-16-24, while patrolling the downtown area, CCPD officers observed 3 motorcycles in the 300 block of Shoreline Blvd. The motorcycles were observed driving recklessly and accelerating at a high speed in an attempt to outdistance each other.

Officers attempted a traffic stop on the motorcycles. Once motorcycle stopped while the other two evaded and fled the area.

The one motorcycle operator that stopped was arrested and taken into custody without incident.

The operator was identified as 28-year-old Clyde McDowell.

Mcdowel was transported to the City Detention Center where he was booked for Racing, Possession of Marijuana, and Unlawful carrying of a weapon. McDowell had a handgun on his person at the time of the offense/arrest.

His motorcycle was impounded.

PEELED OUT, WENT TO JAIL

On 11-16-24 at about 12:25 am CCPD officers observed a vehicle exit a private drive in the 100 block of N. Shoreline Blvd. As the vehicle exited it accelerated quickly in order to swerve intentionally causing the vehicle to jerk violently from side to side and lane to lane.

The driver obviously disregarded the safety of other motorists on the roadway by this dangerous and poor judgement act.

The driver was stopped on Coopers Alley and placed under arrest for reckless driving.

35-year-old Jesus Garcia was transported to the city detention Center. His vehicle was impounded.

RECKLESS SHORELINE ARREST

On 11-15-24 at about 9:22 pm CCPD officers observed a group of motorcycles at a red light at Shoreline Blvd and Lawrence St. When the light changed to green one solo motorcycle accelerated at a vey high rate of speed and began to dangerously weave in and out of vehicles as they passed. The other motorcycles did not follow.

The solo motorcycle stopped in the 900 block of N. Shoreline Blvd. Officers contacted the motorcycle operator and placed him under arrest for reckless driving.

27-year-old Joshua Martinez was then transported to the City Detention Center. His motorcycle was impounded.
