A reminder that things can happen very quickly when you are driving.
This video was captured by the dash camera of a Corpus Christi Police Department patrol unit as it sat parked on the side of the road in the 700 block of Brownlee Boulevard on August 20.
The 2011 Toyota Corolla was traveling west on Mary Street when it fail to yield the right of way at a stop sign and struck a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado truck traveling south on Brownlee Boulevard.
The Chevrolet was then forced off the road and into a wooden fence and also into a parked GMC truck in the 1600 block of Mary Street.
The driver of the at fault vehicle was taken to Spohn Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. She was issued a citation for running the stop sign.
Three other people in the Chevrolet truck were not injured.
