The Corpus Christi Police Department responded to 745 calls for service and generated 186 reports for formal criminal complaints from 7:00 a.m. August 23 to 7:00 a.m. on August 24, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

Offense: Deadly Conduct

An 18 year old female babysitting two children, at a home in the 2500 block of Fig Street, called Corpus Christi Police after a man fired five shots into the home.

Officers arrived and the female told them that a man, she did not know, knocked on the door looking for two men that lived there. She told him that they were not there, and closed the door.

She went to check on the kids, and at that time noticed the man was still walking around outside. A short time later, she heard five shots fired, three of which went through the walls of a back bedroom of the home.

No one inside the home was injured.

No suspects have been arrested, and Officers continue to investigate this crime

A 30 year old female called Corpus Christi Police after she was stabbed in the leg by another female in a parking lot in the 1600 block of North Port Avenue.

Officers arrived and found the female with several severe lacerations to her left thigh. She told Officers she had been cut by another female she knows during a disturbance with several people.

After the female was stabbed, an unknown suspect, fired several shots into the air, causing the disturbance to disperse.

Officers located three 9 mm caliber shell casings in the parking lot.

They did not located the female who stabbed the victim, and also did not identify the suspect who had fired the shots into the air.

Offense: Driving While Intoxicated with a Child Passenger

A mother was arrested by Corpus Christi Police after she crashed her car into two parked vehicles in the 3700 block of Blanco Court.

Officers arrived and the crash investigation revealed that the mother was driving her 2008 Ford Fusion east on Painter Street at a high rate of speed, when she lost control and struck the mirror of a parked Cadillac.

The mother, continued driving, and then crashed into the back driver side of a Dodge sedan parked just down the street.

After an investigation, it was determined that the mother, Juliet Saldana (11/01/1989), was intoxicated. It was also determined that she had her 3 year old daughter in the back seat of her car at the time of the crash.

Neither the mother, nor her child were injured. The mother went to jail, and her child was released into the custody of her grandfather.

Two men were arrested by Corpus Christi Police after they were observed by Officers racing down South Shoreline Boulevard.

The Officer heard a Ford Mustang and a Chevrolet Camaro accelerating and he saw them traveling side by side. Both vehicles were accelerating in a speed competition trying to outdistance each other.

The driver of the Chevrolet Camaro, Esteven Hernandez (04/26/1997), and the driver of the Ford Mustang, Jason Diazdonjuan (07/09/1993), were both arrested for racing.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer arrested a women after he saw her attempted to run over her husband in the parking lot of a Stripes Store located in the 3000 block of Waldron Road.

The Officer was on patrol when he saw a 2011 Toyota sedan pull into the parking lot of the store and the front passenger door fly open. A man jumped out of the passenger side of the car and as he was walking away, the car veered at him. The man had to jump out of the way in order not to be struck by the car. The man saw the Officer, and pointed at the car, and ran into the store.

The Officer was able to stop the car and arrest the driver, Heather Franje (11/29/1988), for aggravated assault. She was additionally charged with fail to identify when she gave Officers a fictitious name.  It was also determined that she had an outstanding warrant for her arrest for a prior assault.

Her 30 year old husband was not injured.
