Patrol Report 10/14/2015

The Corpus Christi Police Department responded to 900 calls for service and generated 212 reports for formal criminal complaints from 7:00 a.m. October 13 to 7:00 a.m. on October 14, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer on patrol observed a van driving in the 5600 block of Weber Road without any headlights on.

When the Officer went to investigate, he contacted the driver of the 1999 Dodge Caravan, and found her to be intoxicated.

The Officer arrested the female driver, Graciela Salazar (07/22/1963), for driving while intoxicated third or more, a felony offense. She was additionally charged with driving with a suspended license, a Class B Misdemeanor.

Four females walked into the JC Penny Store, located at 5488 South Padre Island Drive, and then tried to walk out without paying for over $2,300 worth of merchandise.

Store employees observed the four females walk in together, then break into two groups and start putting items inside their purses.

When the four attempted to leave the store without paying, store employees were able to stop them and call Corpus Christi Police.

Guadalupe Perez Nino (01/07/1993), Jessica Elizondo (10/30/1993), Stephanie Lopez-Garcia (10/18/1995), Lyanne Bazan (07/04/1992) were all arrested for theft, a Class A Misdemeanor.

The stolen merchandise was returned to the store.

A man passed out alongside a drainage ditch near South Staples Street and Brawner Parkway turned out to be someone who had just broken into a home down the street.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a report of a man lying in the drainage ditch. When they arrived they found the intoxicated man passed out.

While investigating the call, Officers determined that the man had broken into a home in the 3900 block of Stirman Drive and stolen several items including four cell phones, and some identification cards.

Officers were able to return the stolen property to its owners.

The female home owner told Officers that the man, Orlando Zuniga (10/15/1982), lived there a month ago, but had left and had no reason to return. The man was arrested for burglary and public intoxication.
