The Corpus Christi Police Department responded to 955 calls for service and generated 209 reports for formal criminal complaints from 7:00 a.m. November 10 to 7:00 a.m. on November 11, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

Drive Offense: Burglary

Case Number: 1511100108
A 46 year old man called Corpus Christi Police after he had three of his favorite fishing poles stolen from his garage in the 2500 block of Date Palm Drive.

The man told Officers that he was getting ready to go fishing the next morning and had placed the fishing poles on a table in his garage. He said he went inside for a few minutes and then walked back out and the poles were gone. He estimated the poles value at $630 but the missed fishing time was priceless.

Officers are investigating this crime, and at this time no suspects have been identified.

Offense: Driving While Intoxicated

A man trying to leave his girlfriend’s home, in the 3100 block of China Berry Lane, caused damage to her garage door and her vehicle that was parked inside.

The 29 year old female called Corpus Christi Police after she and her boyfriend were involved in a verbal disturbance inside the home. He then tried to leave the home, and was backing his 2001 Dodge Ram truck out of the garage when he hit the partially opened door.

After striking the garage door it fell on the girlfriend’s car that was parked inside causing damage to her 2002 Ford Explorer. The boyfriend then drove off prior to police arrival.

While Officers were at the home investigating, the boyfriend drove by the house. Officers were able to catch up to him down the street.

After an investigation, Officers determined that the driver was intoxicated. The boyfriend, Adan Urtado (03/12/1990), was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

The girlfriend estimated that there was nearly $600 in damage done to her vehicle and another $1000 damage done to the garage door.

The manager of the Five Points Storage, located in the 3300 block of County Road 52, called Corpus Christi Police after six units were broken into.

Officers arrived and found that the six storage units had the locks on the front cut off. Once the locks were cut off, the suspects entered the units and removed personal property from inside.

At this time no suspects have been identified.

A 46 year old man called Corpus Christi Police after his live in girlfriend tried to stab him with a knife.

Officers arrived at the apartment, located in the 6300 block of Old Brownsville Road, and were met outside by the man who told them that his girlfriend was intoxicated and had become violent toward him and came at him with a kitchen knife.

The man was able to hide in a bedroom closet and then make it out of the apartment before he was injured.

The girlfriend, Tanya Browning (05/15/1965), was arrested for aggravated assault.

The 8 inch kitchen knife was recovered as evidence.

Offense: Injury to a Child / Disabled Person

Case Number: 1511100094
A Corpus Christi mother of four was arrested after her home, located in the 2500 block of Hulbirt Street, was found to be uninhabitable.

Officers arrived to assist the fire department on a call regarding a 57 year old disabled and bed ridden female who was living inside the home. When the fire department arrived and saw the conditions inside the home, they called Corpus Christi Police.

Officers found the disabled person lying in bed surrounded by her own feces and wet from urine. She had numerous open bed sores on her body and her skin was stuck to the bedding. Also in the home, there were used adult diapers littered around, along with flies, old food, and dirty clothes.

The person charged with taking care of the disabled person and the four children inside the home was identified as Maria Del Rosario Rodriguez (05/06/1969). She was arrested by Officers for injury to a disabled person, a second degree felony. It is unknown what her relation is to the person in her care.

Her four children, who were also living in the home, ranged in age from 5 to 10 years old. Child Protective Services responded to the home to take custody of the children.

Adult Protective Services is also involved in this investigation and was following up on the disabled person after she was transported by CCFD to Spohn Memorial Hospital to be treated for her injuries.

Code Enforcement arrived to board up the home, and Animal Control Services recovered two dogs from inside the home.
