The Corpus Christi Police Department responded to 1153 calls for service and generated 197 reports for formal criminal complaints from 7:00 a.m. January 11 to 7:00 a.m. on January 12, 2016. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

Case Number: 1601120005
A 31 year old male victim called Corpus Christi Police after he was beaten up and robbed by a man he let sleep on his couch.

Officers arrived and the victim told them that he allowed a co-worker to sleep on his couch at his apartment, located at 5901 Weber Road. The victim said he was awoken to the man standing over him, punching him in the head and face and choking him.  The co-worker was demanding money from the victim.

The victim was able to fight his way out of the apartment, and went to a neighbors apartment to call police.

During the struggle, the victim told Officers he lost his wallet, and he believes the co-worker stole it.

The victim, who was not seriously injured, was able to provide Officers the name of the man who beat him and took his wallet, however, Officers have not located him.

A 57 year old female called Corpus Christi Police at about 1 PM to report that her home had been broken into and by 3 PM she had found her stolen property and the two suspects who broke in.

At 1 PM Officers responded to the home in the Great Lakes subdivision. The female told Officers that she had went out of town for a few days, and returned to find someone had entered her residence through the garage and stolen several items.

At 3 PM, the female called Officers back after she used an app to locate her stolen Iphone. She told Officers that she saw the stolen phone track from a hotel on South Padre Island Drive back toward her neighborhood and stop near her house.

Officers were able to locate the vehicle the stolen property was in and they arrested Dylan Marbach (03/03/1994) and his girlfriend, Vanessa Gutierrez (04/05/1992) for burglary.

Case Number: 1601110038
The owner of a restaurant called Corpus Christi Police after he left some metal items near the back door of his business and they were stolen.

The owner of the restaurant, located at 1220 Airline Road, told Officers that he put a metal egg roll machine, a dishing washing container, a soda machine and a plastic mop bucket near the back door of his business and when he went to get them they were gone.

The total value of the stolen property was estimated to be over $4,500.

At this time, no suspects have been identified.
