On February 10, 2022, a Corpus Christi Police Department Patrol Officer received information that an individual was selling a camper shell that had been removed from a truck, which was stolen on February 06, 2022 from a parking lot on the 6800 block of SPID.
Corpus Christi Auto Theft Task Force was provided the information and called out to assist. Auto Theft Task Force with assistance from Directed Patrol Officers, along with the original reporting Patrol Officer conducted an operation which led them to the 1400 block of Clare.
The camper shell was located and recovered. The suspect involved in the theft of the truck and camper was identified and arrested. 40-year-old Charles Slade was charged with theft and possession of controlled substance.
Two additional arrests were made. 46-year-old Patrick Watkins was arrested for possession of controlled substance. 35-year-old Jessica Schulz was charged with an outstanding warrant for Larceny out of Nueces County. Schulz provided a false name to officers and was subsequently charged with Fail to Identify as a Fugitive.
The stolen truck was also recovered on the 1000 block of McIver.
