CCPD and CCFD were called to the residence for a medical call in which a 5-month-old infant was found not to be breathing.  First responders arrived to find the baby girl was deceased.

Child Crimes Detectives are currently investigating the infant’s suspicious death as a homicide; pending a ruling from the Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Police attempted to pull over a gray Chevrolet Impala for a traffic violation in the 2500 block of Agnes, but the driver failed to stop.  The driver Arturo Marcelino Bazan (02/07/1995) finally pulled over at Marguerite and Bluntzer Streets.

Bazan was found to be driving without a valid driver’s license and arrested.  He was booked at the City Detention Center and charged with Evading Arrest as  well as No Driver’s License.  Officers also confiscated a small quantity of what appeared to be synthetic marijuana.

Officers tracked down one of Nueces County’s Most Wanted at his sister’s residence.  Adam Espinoza Aguilar (07/02/83) was arrested and charged with the outstanding warrant for Motion to Revoke Probation for Evading Arrest with a Vehicle.

Officer contacted the 34-year-old man who reported his observed a man in his truck trying to steal his radio.  The suspect punched the victim in the face when he was asked to leave. A struggle ensued in which the suspect swung at the victim with a shovel.

As Officers were conducting their investigation, the victim spotted the suspect and pointed him out to Police.  Quincy Vander Gilford Jr. (06/03/67) ran and hid from Officers, but they quickly found him hiding in the laundry room behind 1900 Peabody.

Gilford was arrested at the City Detention Center and charged with Aggravated Robbery.

Police responding to the residence discovered a 54-year-old man had been struck by a vehicle driven by his 52-year-old wife.  The man was rushed to Spohn Memorial where he died from the injuries sustained in the accident.

Witnesses at the scene reported to Officers, it appeared that the Ford Aerostar Van accidentally accelerated towards the victim and two other family members as they stood to the front of the van.  Two of the other family members were able to move out-of-the-way to avoid being hit.

The accident investigation is being conducted by Officers with the Traffic Division.

Police were called by HEB employees who were following a silver Chevrolet Impala involved in a theft of gas. Officers found the Impala parked at the gas pumps at 2002 Morgan Avenue. The driver Decoriah LaCharles Harris (06/23/91) was arrested and booked at City Detention Center. He was charged with Theft and Driving While License Suspended.

Police located a empty stolen trailer at the Travel Lodge. The trailer was taken from 5702 S. Staples Street on May 28th and was filled with windows and window frames.

Police were called to the residence for a stabbing after a 37-year-old man assaulted a woman and stabbed a man who came to her rescue. The man sustained a cut to his hand, but refused to be taken to a hospital for medical treatment.  Police are looking for Hispanic man, 6’0″ feet tall, and weighing 350 lbs.

Police pulled over a 58-year-old man after he failed to signal a right turn and impounded the vehicle when he was found to be driving without a license.  His passenger, Jennifer Angelique Sturgeon (03/12/72) was found to be possession of a marijuana cigar and arrested.  She was booked at City Detention Center and charged with Possession of Marijuana and additionally charged with Possession of Dangerous Drugs when prescription pills were found in her purse.  The driver was cited and released.

Homicide Victim’s Vehicle Located

Corpus Christi Police are investigating the homicide of 70-year-old Charles Lee Noack who was found murdered in his home on June 4th, 2013.  At the time of his murder, Noack’s vehicle was also found to be missing and believed stolen.

On June 5, 2013, at 2:30pm a Patrol Officer searching for the stolen grey Ford Escort found the unoccupied vehicle in the parking lot of the Weber Square Apartments.

During their investigation, detectives developed information leading them to Jacob Alan Crow (05/30/81) and his involvement in the theft of Noack’s vehicle.  Homicide Detectives were able to obtain an arrest warrant for Crow charging him with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle (U.U.M.V.). Witnesses indicated that Crow had been driving the victim’s vehicle after Noack’s murder.

On June 5, 2013 at 9:46pm, Officers arrested Crow at Weber Square Apartments located at 5220 Weber Road for the U.U.M.V. warrant.  He was booked at the City Detention Center.  Crow was additionally charged with Possession of a Prohibited Weapon.  His bond was set at $50,000.

Homicide/Robbery Lt. K. Isaacks stated, “The Homicide Investigation is still in the preliminary stages.  We are still in the process of evaluating all  of the physical evidence and interviewing all possible witnesses.”  The investigation is still ongoing and will be referred to the Nueces County District Attorney’s Office when concluded.

Suspect Sought in Assault

Corpus Christi Police Department Detectives are asking the public’s assistance in identifying a 25-year-old man who assaulted a teenage female when she attempted to detain him after he assaulted another customer.

The suspect is described as a slim Hispanic male, 25 years of age, and 5’5″ to 5’6″ feet tall.  He was last seen wearing dark colored shorts and a white t-shirt underneath a black t-shirt.

A loss prevention associate called in from the Wal-Mart to report a theft. The suspect was described as a White male in his 30’s with short brown hair. He fled the store with two 29-inch flat screen tv’s, underwear as well as some grocery items.

The suspect is described as a 30 to 39-year-old man, 5’8″ feet tall and weighing 210 lbs.  He was last seen wearing an orange and white ball cap, plaid shirt, and blue jeans.  He left in late-model white Dodge Ram 2500 crew cab with a long bed and yellow lights on the cab, a brush guard, and a tool box in the pick-up bed.

Police were called to the Wal-Mart for a robbery in which a 24-year-old woman was robbed at knife point. The woman told Officers the suspect invited her to a late-night meal and she agreed to meet him in the Wal-Mart parking lot.  The man jumped into her car and robbed her at knife point; taking her purse.  The victim sustained several minor cuts from grabbing onto the knife.

The suspect fled in a red four-door Kia.  He is described as a HIspanic male, 20 to 30 years of age, 5’6″ to 5’10” feet tall and weighing 170 lbs.

Officers responded to the area of Holly at St. Andrews for a vehicle being driven by 27-year-old woman who veered onto the cycle lane while attempting to use her cell phone  She struck a 76-year-old pedacyclist head on. The bicyclist suffered minor injuries and was  taken to Spohn Memorial by CCFD Emergency Personnel.  The driver was not found to be intoxicated and the accident investigation is ongoing.

Early Morning Stabbings

Police were called to a local convenience store where they contacted a 35-year-old man who had been stabbed in the neck.  The man had a small wound and refused to be treated by CCFD Emergency Personnel.

The victim told Officers he was in the parking lot of Cabaret Gentlemen’s Club when he was approached by a female asking for money.  The man gave the woman some cash, but she became upset when he refused to give her more money and stabbed the victim.  She then walked away with a 60 to 62-year-old man and his dog.

The woman is described as Hispanic female, 40 to 41 years of age, and approximately 4’10” feet tall.  She was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt and blue jeans.

While Officers were investigating this stabbing call, Police received another report of an aggravated assault at the Cactus Motel.  Police found a 39-year-old woman who had been stabbed in the chest. She was quickly rushed to Spohn Memorial by CCFD Emergency Personnel.   As of this morning, the woman was in critical but stable condition.

Further investigation revealed the woman had been stabbed by a friend of the woman.  Officers searched several motels in the area, but were unable to locate the suspect or a crime scene.

The suspect is described as a 42-year-old female, 4’11” feet tall, and weighing 100 lbs.

Man Stabbed at Local Bar

Police were called to Club Santa Fuego for a stabbing in which a 31–year-old was stabbed in the upper torso.    Officers were told an argument occurred inside the bar and the men were asked to leave.

The argument escalated outside when the men pulled off their belts and began swinging them at one another.  The men were able to surround and trap the victim against the building.  The victim was stabbed during the altercation.

The men fled in a dark-colored Ford Explorer which was last seen heading northbound on Ayers Street. The men are only described as Hispanic males and approximately 40 to 50 years of age.

The victim was taken to Spohn Memorial where he was listed in stable condition as of 6:00 am this morning.

Man Wanted for Stealing from Elderly

Corpus Christi Police Detectives are asking the public’s assistance in locating a nursing facility employee who stole and forged several checks from a 64-year-old nursing home resident.

Albert Linares (01/05/80) was observed on video surveillance as he cashed the forged checks at a local bank.  Detective O. Zepeda obtained a warrant for Linares for Forgery of a Financial Instrument. Linares’ bond is set at $30,000.

The Corpus Christi Police would like to thank the public for the help provided to locate and arrest Linares for this case. Linares was arrested on the 4600 block of Jose Drive at 11am on Friday, May 31. He was located based on a Crime Stoppers tip.
