WALK IN SHOOTING VICTIM DIES FROM HIS INJURIES

On May 20th at approximately 3:12 pm, officers were dispatched to 600 Elizabeth St. in reference to a walk in shooting. The 41 year old male victim was immediately taken in for treatment. At 5:36 pm, as officers were investigating, the victim succumbed to his injuries. CCPD robbery/homicide detectives are actively working this case and have little information .

Cruelty to Animal call leads to 4 arrests

On May 18 at approximately 2:49 pm officers were dispatched to the 2800 block of Niagara St. in reference to animal cruelty. Officers arrived and made contact with the property owner. The property owner advised the officers that she came to check on the property and when she arrived she observed dogs inside and outside of the residence. The responding officers made contact and detained four people at the residence. Animal control, Code Enforcement and Crime Scene Investigators were called to the scene.

Animal control investigated and removed 35 dogs and 1 cat from the residence. The officers were advised that the living conditions for the animals was extremely substandard and unsanitary. Officers arrested 3 males and 1 female for animal cruelty and transported them to the City Detention Center.

Corpus Christi Police Detectives need your help identifying a suspect who robbed a local bank.

At approximately 5:47 pm, Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to the area of 4100 S. Staples in reference to a robbery. Officers contacted the employees and were advised that a male entered the bank right before closing and passed a note to a teller demanding money. The teller complied and the suspect left with an undisclosed amount of money in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as Hispanic male approximately 30-50 years old. He stands about 5 feet 8 inches tall weighing between 150-200 pounds. The suspect was wearing a dark colored plaid shirt, large black hat, surgical mask, sunglasses and dark colored pants.

Update to DEATH INVESTIGATION 900 NAS Drive

During the initial investigation the cause of death had not been determined yet the Robbery Homicide Section continued to diligently investigate the case. On April 26, 2022, the Medical Examiner’s Office found that the cause of death was by gun shot. As Robbery Homicide investigated, they received information that the offender was 39-year-old Robert Thompson. The detectives were able to secure a warrant of arrest for Murder with a $1,000,000.00 bond. The Narcotics Vice Section along with the Gang Unit responded to Robert Thompsons residence, placed him into custody, and transported him to the City Detention Center for booking.

On April 25, 2022 at approximately 5:49pm officers responded to an unresponsive male in the area of 900 NAS drive. Officers arrived and located an adult male deceased in the wooded area. Detectives and our Crime Scene Investigators processed the scene and the deceased male was taken to the medical examiners office. Detectives are still investigating to determine the cause of death.

Today Directed Patrol Officers, Crime Scene Investigators, Code Enforcement, Developmental Services and the property owner are in the area working together to determine the best way to clean the property.

There has been social media post stating that numerous bodies are being removed from that location. That information is NOT TRUE, there are no other bodies being removed from that location.

Corpus Christi Police Detectives need your help identifying this suspected burglar. Officers were dispatched to a business in the 5400 block of SPID. The officers made contact with the caller who advised the suspect forced his way inside the business and proceeded to take various items. The suspect also broke into a vending machine inside the break room.

The suspect is described as a male in his 30’s wearing a black hat, blue jeans, a green plaid shirt and checkered shoes.

Pier Taggers Arrested

On December 23, 2021, at approximately 2:10 am,  the Corpus Christi Police Department responded to a complaint of vandalism on the pier. A fisherman  observed individuals spray painting benches, trashcans and light poles on the pier and promptly called CCPD. Our officers arrived on the scene quickly and took two male individuals into custody. The suspects, who were identified as Emanuel  Ysaguirre (20 yrs. old) and Ethan Flores (20 yrs. old), were arrested for the offenses of graffiti and possession of criminal instruments.

Corpus Christi Police detectives need your help identifying this suspect who used a stolen credit card. On October 20 the victim contacted the police department and advised that her credit card had been used without her consent. Detectives were able to obtain video of the suspect.

Arrest Made in Recent Murder at 6000 Holly

On Saturday November 13, 2021 at 2:19 am officers were dispatched to a shooting on 6000 Holly.

When the officers arrived they found a vehicle had crashed after the driver and a passenger had been shot. One female was transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries while the other 20 year old female was deceased at the scene. Three other occupants in the vehicle were not injured.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division Robbery Homicide Section responded to the scene to investigate.

Detectives worked non-stop and followed up on all the information they had obtained and identified a possible suspect. They contacted a 28 year old male suspect and questioned him about the incident. On November 14, 2021 at 12:23 a.m. detectives arrested Esten Chavez for murder and 4 counts of aggravated assault and transported him to the City Detention Center. Corpus Christi Police Detectives need your help identifying this burglary suspect. The suspect gained access to the business after hours. He is seen on video going through the business and then leaving with various items.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, wearing a white shirt, dark pants, white tennis shoes and a dark ball cap. The suspect has a beard and mustache and appears to have tattoos on his right hand and wrist.
