Police responded to the Stripes Convenience Store and arrived to find one of the suspects still in the parking lot.  Officers arrested Fabian Trevino (04/11/94) was found to be armed with a firearm.  Trevino was arrested and charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon and an outstanding warrant out of Nueces County for Contempt of Court.

Julian Valderrama (12/31/92) was pulled over for a traffic violation.  Valderrama was arrested after a check revealed he was wanted.  He was charged with an Nueces County warrant for Failure to Appear.  His bond was set at $5,000.

Officers investigating an assault of a 9-month-old infant attempted to contact the suspect as they arrived at the home.  Michael Estrada Jr. (07/18/93) ran from Officers in an attempt to reach the door leading into the home.  Estrada was tased and arrested.  He was charged with an outstanding Nueces County warrant for Assault and Evading Arrest.  The mother of the infant recanted her story.  CCFD Emergency Personnel examined the child and found him to be uninjured.

Police investigated an accident in which a 75-year-old woman’s Dodge Dakota pick-up truck struck the front wall of the KWIK Wash Laundries.  Police believe the woman accidentally stepped on the gas instead of the brake.  Approximately ten feet of the lower brick wall, two plate-glass windows, and the aluminum framework was damaged.  The woman was not injured.

Man Rolls Vehicle On the Beach Then Arrested

A 25-year-old man was arrested for driving while intoxicated on the beach Thursday night after he was involved in a single vehicle crash.

The 25-year-old man drove a gray 2005 Toyota 4-Runner at a high rate of speed near beach marker 202 at 10:20pm Thursday night. The vehicle entered the water and 25-year-old Justin Dees (8/3/1987) lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle rolled in the surf, but the three occupants of the vehicle were not hurt.

Emergency crews arrived and all involved in the single vehicle crash refused medical attention. Dees exhibited indicators that he was intoxicated so he was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, a Class B misdemeanor punishable by up to six months in jail and up to a $2,000 fine.

The vehicle was taken to the city impound lot and the two other passengers of the vehicle were released at the scene. Dees was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation and to collect a specimen of his blood. Dees was then delivered to the city detention center.

Police Seek to Identify Woman Who Used Stolen Credit Cards

The Corpus Christi Police Department Financial Crimes Detectives would like help from the public to identify and locate the woman who used stolen credit cards at a Flour Bluff convenience store on June 8, 2013.

A 44-year-old woman lost her purse at a grocery store located at 1250 Flour Bluff Drive at 11:45am on Saturday, June 8, 2013. The 44-year-old woman discovered her credit cards were used at a convenience store located at 341 Yorktown Boulevard at 7:00pm on the same day.

Corpus Christi Police Detectives have obtained images of the woman who used the stolen credit cards. The woman is described as a white female, about 40 years in age, about 5 foot 5 inches tall, with brown hair and she wore a gray t-shirt with tan shorts and white sandals.

Shane Michael Wiggins (7-20-87) was found passed out in his truck after pulling up to the gas pumps at a local convenience store.  The truck was on with the motor running.  Wiggins was arrested after he was administered field sobriety tests and a blood specimen taken.  He was charged with Driving While Intoxicated (2nd) which is upgraded to a Class “A” Misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail and a $4,000 fine.

Police were called to the business for alarm and upon their arrival found the automotive shop burglarized.  The front door glass was shattered and an undetermined amount of money was taken from the register.

Police were called to the residence for a drowning involving 3-year-old child.   When Officers arrived CCFD was taking the child to Driscoll Children’s Hospital where she later died.

Detectives with the Police Department’s Child Protection Unit were called out and currently conducting an investigation into the child’s death.

Police were contacted by a 21-year-old man who reported he was hit by a tire as he walked along the sand dunes.  The tire was being pulled by a white Ford pick-up truck when the rope broke and struck the victim as it bounced down the beach.  The driver of the truck stopped, but left without providing the victim any information. The victim was taken to Spohn Memorial with a fractured collarbone.

A 39-year-old woman was lying next to a 2001 Dodge Ram pick-up truck sun-bathing when the 43-year-old driver decided to leave and ran over her.  The woman was taken to Spohn South by CCFD Emergency Personnel.

The accident is still under investigation and a citation has not been issued at this time.

Police responding to the residence discovered a 54-year-old man had been struck by a vehicle driven by his 52-year-old wife.  The man was rushed to Spohn Memorial where he died from the injuries sustained in the accident.

Witnesses at the scene reported to Officers, it appeared that the Ford Aerostar Van accidentally accelerated towards the victim and two other family members as they stood to the front of the van.  Two of the other family members were able to move out-of-the-way to avoid being hit.

The accident investigation is being conducted by Officers with the Traffic Division.

Police were called to the residence for a stabbing after a 37-year-old man assaulted a woman and stabbed a man who came to her rescue. The man sustained a cut to his hand, but refused to be taken to a hospital for medical treatment.  Police are looking for Hispanic man, 6’0″ feet tall, and weighing 350 lbs.

Police pulled over a 58-year-old man after he failed to signal a right turn and impounded the vehicle when he was found to be driving without a license.  His passenger, Jennifer Angelique Sturgeon (03/12/72) was found to be possession of a marijuana cigar and arrested.  She was booked at City Detention Center and charged with Possession of Marijuana and additionally charged with Possession of Dangerous Drugs when prescription pills were found in her purse.  The driver was cited and released.

Man Shoots Gun In Home With Child Nearby

A 48-year-old man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after he discharged a firearm in his home at a person while a 2 month old child was in the house.

A 43-year-old man came to the house of 48-year-old Brett Noel (12/28/1964) to get a vehicle which was left overnight. The 43-year-old man discovered the vehicle was gone and the 43-year-old man demanded the vehicle to be returned. Noel then displayed a firearm and pointed in the direction of the 43-year-old man. Noel discharged the firearm and missed the 43-year-old man.

No person was injured in the event.

Corpus Christi Police Officers arrived and met the involved people outside the home. Officers entered the home to insure there were no injured persons, and then gathered the information about the event. Several people were inside the home at the time of the firearm discharge including a 26-year-old woman and her 2 month old child.

Noel was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.

Man Steals Car From Dealership

The Corpus Christi Police Department is looking for a black 2013 Cadillac CTSV that was taken from a dealership located at 6650 South Padre Island Drive at 10:30 Tuesday morning.

Employees of the dealership reported to police that a man went into the dealership, got the keys to the car, and drove away without any permission to take the car. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, about 30 years of age, about 5 feet 11 inches tall, 250 pounds, with short hair and he wore a black shirt and black shorts.

Corpus Christi Police used a vehicle tracking system in cooperation with the dealership to locate the vehicle on Padre Island at 11:27am. Corpus Christi Police arrested 31-year-old Reagan Vines (08/26/1981) for Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle and the Cadillac was returned to the dealership.
