Law Enforcement Captures Pete Valdez In Oklahoma

U.S. Marshals captured 31 year old Pete Valdez (6/10/1985) this morning in Tulsa County, Oklahoma who had two warrants for his arrest out of Nueces County, one warrant for Injury to a Child Causing Serious Mental Deficiency or Impairment and a warrant for Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child  with a Victim under age 14.

Corpus Christi Police Detectives assigned to the cases against Valdez learned that Valdez may be found in Oklahoma, and the Detectives provided specific information to the United States Marshals service. The United States Marshals located and arrested Valdez in Tulsa County, Oklahoma this morning. Detectives say Valdez will be brought back to Nueces County.

Police Remember Juan Rincon Prieto

The Corpus Christi Police Department remembers Senior Officer Juan Rincon Prieto and his line of duty death on February 2, 1993. Officer Prieto was directing traffic at Up River Road and Suntide when he was struck and killed by a pickup truck. Officer Prieto had served in the Corpus Christi Police Department for 27 years and was survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters.

A park on Woodland Creek Drive in Corpus Christi near Callicoate Road is named Senior Officer Prieto Park in his memory.

Corpus Christi Police Detectives need your help identifying this woman who damaged a vehicle. The female in the video went up to the residence and began banging on the front door and yelling. The female is seen going up to a black Ford Mustang and started scratching the paint on the left side of the vehicle, the trunk and the hood. The suspect then left the scene.

City Hosts Vehicle Auction Saturday

The City of Corpus Christi will auction 87 cars, trucks, and motorcycles at the Police Vehicle Impound Lot, located at 5485 Greenwood Drive, on Saturday, February 4th, 2017. The auction will start at 10:00 am.

The general public is encouraged to register and view the vehicles for auction from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Friday, February 3, 2017. The general public can continue to view the vehicles from 8:00 am to 10:00 am on the day of the auction.

The vehicles for auction may be viewed online and an auction list may be downloaded from www.siskauction.com.

Help Police Catch Man Accused of Repeated Sexual Assault of A Child

Area law enforcement would like help from the public to locate 31 year old Pete Valdez (6/10/1985) who has a warrants for his arrest, one warrant for Injury to a Child Causing Serious Mental Deficiency or Impairment and a warrant for Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child  with a Victim under age 14.

Valdez is described as 31 year old male who stands 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighs 121 pounds, has black hair, brown eyes, and has a tattoo on his chest of the words, “Isaiah” and “Zoey.” Valdez was last known to reside in a home on the 2500 block of Mary Street in Corpus Christi.

Corpus Christi Police Detectives need your help identifying the suspects who stole this trailer valued at over $10,000. The suspects are seen driving a Dodge Ram pickup onto the property. The suspect vehicle, which has a fifth wheel hitch, backs up to a dumpster style trailer. The suspects exit the vehicle and connect to the trailer and leave the property. The Dodge Ram pickup has an after market front and rear bumper.

Seeking Information on a Overnight Shooting

Location: 11300 I.H. 37 Access South Bound
Offense:  Aggravated Assault

Police responded to the 11300 block of I.H. 37  at about 11:32 p.m. for what was being reported as a major crash involving a single vehicle.   Officers found a 24 year old man inside the car with what appeared to be gunshot wounds.   It appears that the victim was shot prior to the crash.  The victim was transported to Memorial Medical Center and is in critical condition at this time.

The victims crashed vehicle is a 2016 Subaru Crosstek, black in color.  We are not releasing the name of the victim at this time but are asking for anyone who might have been in the area of I.H. 37 before or during that time to report any observations or contact that they might recall involving this vehicle.

There is a chance that victim in this vehicle travelled a route that included Bayside/Gregory/Taft/Odem and then onto I.H. 37 southbound into Corpus Christi leading up to the incident.  If you have home or business closed circuit cameras that might have captured any video footage immediately prior to this incident, please review your recordings and contact police if you see any images that might relate to this incident.

Patrol Report January 23, 2017

Location: 4400 Cedar Pass
Offense: Assault Family Violence, Interfering with 911 Call

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to the area of 4400 Cedar Pass in reference to a disturbance in progress. Officers were flagged down by a neighbor who advised them they witnessed a male dragging a screaming female into an apartment. Officers went to the apartment and observed a purse and a cellphone on the ground in front of the door. Officers knocked and heard something hitting the floor followed by silence. Officers knocked again and heard something hit the floor and again it was followed by silence. Due to the totality of the circumstances officers forced their way into the apartment.

Officers were met by the 21 year old male suspect who was quickly detained. Offices located the 22 year old female victim in the back bedroom. The victim was visibly shaken and covering her face with a blanket. When officers moved the blanket from her face they observed severe bruising to her face, her left eye was swollen shut and she had redness to her neck. The victim advised they were coming from a friends house when they began arguing. The victim at some point tried to leave. The suspect pulled the victim from the car catching her jacket I the door. The victim became upset and started hitting the car. The suspect grabbed the victim and threw her to the ground and began choking her in an effort to keep her from screaming. The victim is not sure when it happened but she was struck several times in the face. The victim advised that she tried to call 911 in an effort to calm the suspect. The suspect took her phone and did not allow her to call for help.

The victim advised that this is not the first time she has been assaulted but it was the worst. The victim was treated at the scene for her injuries. Officers arrested Kameron William Handy (02-03-1995) for assault family violence and interfering with a 911 call. Kameron was transported to the City Detention Center.

Corpus Christi Police were dispatched to The Harbor Bridge Northbound in reference to a accident involving a pedestrian. Officers arrived and found 89 year old Evan McDonald deceased in the right lane of the roadway. It appeared that Evan had been ran over. A 24 year old female driver stopped at the Exxon at Burleson and stated she ran over the victim. Officers are trying to determine if the victim collapsed or fell over the barricade. It is still an ongoing investigation. This is the 3rd fatality accident for the year.

Offense: Assault on a Peace Officer, Evading Arrest

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to the area of Cimarron and Lipes in reference to a back up for an officer. The officer advised that a silver Dodge Ram pickup was trying to ram the patrol unit. Back up officers arrived and observed the suspect vehicle driving erratically and trying to ram the patrol unit. Officers activated the emergency lights and siren in an effort to stop the truck. The officer had to accelerate numerous times in order to not be rammed or sideswiped by the suspect vehicle. The officers continued to chase the suspect vehicle until it ran off the road and onto the sidewalk at Staples and Williams. Officers contacted and arrested Armand L. Boyd (09-06-1981).  The victim officer was ok but was in fear of being injured by the suspect due to his actions. The suspect was transported to the City Detention Center.

 

 

Yeti Cooler Thieves

Police need your help identifying these two suspects. They were seen entering Academy Sporting Goods. The suspects walked to the back and took 4 Yeti coolers valued over $1200. The suspects tried to exit through a back door of the business. The suspects set off a door alarm and were confronted by an employee. The suspects dropped the coolers and fled on foot.
