On Thursday, December 26, 2024, at 1:32am, officers were dispatched to the 6500 block of Yorktown Blvd. in reference to a large fight with injuries. While officers were enroute to the location, the call upgraded to a shooting with injuries.

Officers arrived and located a 30-year-old male gunshot victim and began providing medical aid to the victim. Medics arrived and transported the male to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers spoke with witnesses and observed video surveillance. A verbal argument between the victim and others ensued, which then turned into a physical altercation between the victim and offender. The fight was broken up and the victim was kicked out of the location. In the parking lot, the victim got into another fight with an unknown subject when the first offender, who had also exited the premises, produced a handgun and shot the victim.

A 37-year-old female, who was not involved in the altercation, was also struck by the gunfire and was transported to a local hospital by private vehicle with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers believe the victim and offender are known to each other and this is not a random act of violence.

On Sunday, December 22, 2024, at 6:01pm, officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of Saratoga Blvd. in reference to a major traffic crash involving a motorcycle.

Officers arrived and located a two-vehicle crash involving a grey SUV and a motorcycle. Medics transported the 24-year-old male driver of the motorcycle to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Two adults and a child in the SUV were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators with the Traffic Unit arrived on scene. They determined that the driver of the SUV was traveling east on Saratoga, made a left turn and turned in front of the motorcycle, which was traveling westbound on Saratoga. The motorcycle struck the SUV, causing the motorcyclist to be ejected.

Officers determined that the driver of the SUV did not show signs of intoxication.

On Sunday, December 22, 2024, at 1:21am, officers were dispatched to Ayers/McArdle in reference to a major traffic crash involving a pedestrian.

Officers arrived and located an unknown male pedestrian suffering from major injuries. Medics transported the male to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Officers contacted the 20-year-old female driver of a grey passenger car. They determined that the driver was traveling southbound at the 4800 block of Ayers Street and struck the pedestrian, who was not walking in a crosswalk.

DWI Investigators determined that the driver, Nadine Tijerina, displayed signs of intoxication, and she was arrested for intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle. She was additionally charged with possession of marijuana after officers located marijuana inside of her vehicle.

After Tijerina was medically cleared at a local hospital, she was transported to the City Detention Center for booking.

In the early morning hours of December 17, 2024, a middle-aged woman was suddenly awakened by an unknown man inside her second story bedroom located on the 5900 block of Weber Road.  The woman told responding officers that she was asleep in bed when she was startled awake by a noise, only to find an unknown man standing near her bed.  The woman stated that the man then suddenly attacked her, but she fought back loudly and violently, causing the suspect to cease his attack and flee the apartment.   The suspect was last seen running northbound toward a nearby apartment complex.  Responding officers conducted an intensive search of the surrounding area but were unable to locate the suspect.   

The woman, who sustained minor injuries from the assault, described her attacker as either a dark skinned Hispanic or possibly Black male, approximately 5’8” to 5’11” tall with a medium build.  The suspect was clean shaven and appeared to be in his mid-thirties according to the victim, but may actually be older.   The victim told officers he appeared to have a short afro beneath a red or maroon ball cap and was dressed in a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants. 

The CCPD Operations Division has increased patrols in and around this and surrounding apartment complexes, while Criminal Investigation Division Detectives are actively investigating this incident. Detectives believe the offender entered the apartment through an unlocked sliding glass door on the second floor of the apartment.  The Corpus Christi Police Department reminds residents to ensure that all doors and windows are locked and secured while at home, as well as remaining vigilant of your surroundings when out in public.

On December 4, 2024, at approximately 3:00pm, CCPD officers gained knowledge of the whereabouts of Nueces County Top Ten Most Wanted Jim Willden. Willden had an outstanding Nueces County, Texas warrant for possession of child pornography.

CCPD officers contacted detectives at the Aztec Police Department in Aztec, New Mexico, and provided a possible location for Willden. At approximately 3:40pm, APD officers located Willden at a location in their city limits and placed him into custody for the extraditable felony warrant.

Willden was booked into the Nueces County Jail on Saturday, December 14, 2024.

On Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 9:25pm, officers were dispatched to the 3800 block of Saratoga Blvd. in reference to a major traffic crash involving a motorcycle.

Officers arrived and located a two-vehicle crash. The 30-year-old male driver of the motorcycle sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital by medics. The male victim passed away from his injuries at the hospital.

Officers spoke with 23-year-old Katelyn Yeager, the driver of a black passenger car that was involved in the crash. Officers determined that the passenger car was traveling eastbound on Saratoga, made a left turn and turned in front of the motorcycle, which was traveling westbound on Saratoga. The motorcycle struck the vehicle, causing the motorcyclist to be ejected.

Officers determined that Yeager, who was at-fault for the accident, displayed signs of intoxication, and she was arrested for intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle. During the arrest, Yeager resisted officers and assaulted an officer and was additionally charged with resisting arrest and assault on a peace officer. After she was medically cleared at a local hospital, she was transported to the City Detention Center for booking.

CCPD Detectives are looking to identify these two burglary suspects.

Theses burglars broke into a business in the 4000 block of S. Padre Island Dr. sometime last week in the overnight hours. They left with several TVs and various electronic equipment.

On Thursday, October 24, 2024, CCPD Detectives who work with the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force were notified of an online impersonation and terroristic threat made by an online user that threatened an event to be held at the Del Mar College West Campus.

Detectives worked tirelessly with FBI Special Agents in Kentucky and were able to identify the male subject making the online threats and found that the male was in our city. Detectives located the male, identified as now 24-year-old Adam Hall, at the 800 block of McDonald Street and took him into custody for three outstanding Nueces County warrants (Terroristic Threat, Harassment and Violation of Court Order) as well as probable cause that he committed online impersonation and terroristic threats. Hall was transported to the City Detention Center for booking.

On Wednesday, December 4, 2024, officers were dispatched to the 4500 block of Gollihar to assist Detectives who had obtained additional arrest warrants for Adam Hall. Officers took Hall into custody for two outstanding warrants: Terroristic Threat Impair Public Service (bond $50,000) and Online Impersonation (bond $50,000). He was transported to the City Detention Center for booking.

On December 15, 2024, at about 12:50 am CCPD officers were in the area of 4300 SPID (EB) when they observed two vehicles traveling at a high rate of speed east bound on HWY 358. Officers observed one white vehicle and one silver vehicle racing to outperform one another. The vehicles were observed traveling well over 100 mph.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on both speeding vehicles. Both vehicles came to a stop in a business parking lot at SPID and Staples. St.

The driver of the white vehicle was arrested and identified as Isiah Emerson (21). The driver of the silver vehicle was arrested and identified as Deondre Greenwood (22). Both vehicles were impounded.

Both males knew each other. Both males were transported to the City Detention Center.  Emerson was charged with racing on a highway, Possession of marijuana, and unlawful carrying of a weapon. Greenwood was charged with racing on a highway and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

On December 13, 2024, at 10:08 pm officer dispatched to the 3400 block of Samoa Dr. in reference to a shooting. Dispatch advised a spouse was calling in that she shot her husband.

Officers arrived and located the 61-year-old husband inside his home with a gunshot wound. CCFD medics arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital. The victim had life threatening injuries.

The wife was detained at the time. There was no one else in the residence.

Robbery Homicide Detectives arrived to investigate and began assessing the scene.

The wife was transported to the main station for interviewing.

It was learned an argument erupted between the couple. The wife then shot her husband.

56-year-old Kelli Owens was later arrested for aggravated assaulted w/ a deadly weapon. She was transported to the City Detention Center for booking.
