Suspect Robs Store on McArdle Road

Corpus Christi Police Detectives have released camera surveillance images of a man they believe robbed a store on November 5.

A store clerk at the Valero Corner Store, located in the 6300 block of McArdle Road, called Corpus Christi Police after a man  walked into the store and asked if he could have $40 from the cash register. When the clerk refused to give him the cash, he threatened to pull out a gun. The clerk opened the register and the suspect took the bills from inside.

The suspect fled on foot toward the back of the store.  He was described as being a Hispanic male in his thirties, and was last seen wearing a black shirt with a white design and khaki shorts.

The suspect in this case has not been identified, and detectives need your help in solving this crime.

Protect Your Firearms

The Corpus Christi Police Department wants to inform citizens about auto burglaries occurring in the city and victims having their firearms stolen from inside their vehicle.

From January through the end of October of 2015, the police department has investigated 151 reports of burglaries that involved a firearm being stolen from inside of the vehicle.  Only 35 of those stolen guns have been recovered.

The Corpus Christi Police Department respects the right to own and carry a gun,  but we want to warn citizens that these types of crimes are occurring in our city and remind them to  protect their firearms and keep them out of the hands of criminals.

Detectives Looking For Money Order Thief

Corpus Christi Police Detectives have released camera surveillance images of a woman they believe stole money orders from an apartment complex office drop box on October 26.

Detectives were able to get images of the female suspect reaching her arm into the night deposit box, located at the main office of the South Fork Apartments, at 13801 Interstate Highway 37.

Office management told Officers they believe the female suspect removed an envelope from the drop box that contained two money orders that were meant to pay a residents’ rent in the amount of $741.00

The suspect was last seen wearing a blue long sleeve shirt, blue jeans with black and pink tennis shoes.

The suspect in this case has not been identified, and detectives need you help in solving this crime.

Corpus Christi Police Officers Involved in Shooting on St. Denis Street

A 21-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound Friday afternoon on Saint Denis Street.

Two Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to a disturbance complaint at 1:10pm Friday afternoon at a house on the 6300 block of St. Denis Street. The Officers went inside the home where there were three other people (two women and one man) inside the home when Officers arrived. A 21-year-old man, armed with a handgun, confronted and threatened the Officers. One Officer discharged his firearm once and the 21-year-old man was taken into custody for aggravated assault on the Officers. The 21-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound and no other person was injured. The 21-year-old man was taken to the hospital by ambulance for treatment and the 21-year-old man is expected to survive the injury.

The two Officers have been placed on administrative leave as normal by policy. The 21-year-old man is under arrest for aggravated assault but may have additional criminal charges applied as a result of the incident. The Corpus Christi Police Criminal Investigations Bureau is investigating the event.

Officers delivered 21 year old Marcus Escobar (4/26/1994) for two counts of attempted capital murder after Escobar was released from the hospital at about 6:00pm Friday evening.

Crime Stoppers Has Cash Reward to Catch a Thief

Corpus Christi Police would like help from the public to identify or locate a man accused of stealing an air compressor from the back of an unattended, pickup truck in a restaurant parking lot located at 2601 Ayers Street on October 13, 2015.

Corpus Christi Police obtained video of the man who went inside the restaurant to buy a meal at 12:38pm. The man left the restaurant with a little boy and the two got into a white four door car with a sun roof. The car went to a different parking spot and the man got out, then took the air compressor from the bed of the pickup truck and loaded the compressor into the car and drove away. The owner of the compressor told Officers the compressor was valued at about $950 dollars.

Suspect Uses Cloned Credit Card

Corpus Christi Police Detectives have released camera surveillance images of a man they believe used a cloned credit card at several Wal Mart Stores in the city on October 14.

Detectives were able to get surveillance camera images of the suspect leaving two different stores. One is at 6101 Saratoga Boulevard, and the other is at 3829 U.S. Highway 77.  The suspect was able to make purchases totaling $450 from those two stores, as well as another $435 purchase from the Wal Mart Store located at 1821 South Padre Island Drive.

With a cloned credit card the suspect was able to make these purchases without the victim’s actual Visa card.

The suspect was last seen wearing a blue short sleeve shirt with a blue stripe on the front, tan pants, a cap and brown boots.

The suspect in this case has not been identified, and detectives need your help in solving this crime. Detectives Investigating Death Of Child

Corpus Christi Police Detectives are investigating the death of a 5 month old little boy.

Officers were called to Driscoll Children’s Hospital on Friday, October 23 just before 3:30 PM.  Hospital Staff informed them that the parents of the little boy had brought the child to the emergency room with shallow breathing.  The child was pronounced dead a short time later.

The parents told Officers that they had just picked up their child from a baby sitter at a trailer home located in the 5900 block of Ayers Street. They noticed the child had difficulty breathing and his body was limp.  They immediately drove him to the hospital.

Detectives, along with Child Protective Services, were able to respond to the trailer home on Ayers Street and an investigation is underway.

At this time, the cause of death has not been determined.

Man Arrested For Indecent Exposure

Cesar Paulino (12/06/1988) was arrested this past Saturday for indecent exposure.  He was sitting on one of the white benches along the seawall facing Shoreline Boulevard. and masturbating while participants in the annual Heart Walk were passing by.

Two adult victims contacted Officers who in turn, contacted the suspect. He was arrested for Indecent Exposure, a Class B misdemeanor.

A short time after Officers arrested the man, a female contacted Officers and she said that her 11 year old granddaughter had seen the suspect, fully exposed and masturbating.

Detectives are working to upgrade the charges on the suspect from indecent exposure to indecency with a child, a felony offense, if these allegations are true.

Detectives believe that there is a possibility that other children out on Shoreline Boulevard last Saturday morning were victimized but have not yet come forward.

Suspect Walks Out With Five Purses

Corpus Christi Police Detectives have released camera surveillance images of a man they believe walked out of a store without paying for five purses on September 15.

Detectives were able to get surveillance video images of the suspect leaving the store, located at 4101 Intestate 69 Access Road, with the Michael Kors brand purses. The value of the merchandise was estimated to be nearly $850.

The suspect was last seen wearing a brown shirt with a logo on the front, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.

The suspect in this case has not been identified, and detectives need you help in solving this crime.

Suspect Uses Stolen Credit Cards To Make Purchases

Corpus Christi Police Detectives have released camera surveillance images of a man they believe used a stolen credit card and stolen debit card at several locations in the city on September 23.

A female victim had reported to police that her purse was stolen from Del Mar College earlier in the day.

Financial Crimes Detectives were able to get surveillance video images of the suspect making purchases with the stolen debit card at the CVS Store, located at 4102 Ayers Street, at about 8:20 PM on September 23.

The suspect also used a stolen credit card from the same victim at the Wal Mart Store, located at 4109 South Staples Street, several times the same day.

The suspect was last seen wearing a green shirt and black shorts.

The suspect in this case has not been identified, and detectives need you help in solving this crime.
