FelonyCase Number: 1602010016 A 37 year old man called Corpus Christi Police after he and his family were awoken by bullets striking his home in the 1800 block of Peabody Avenue.
Officers arrived and found several spent 9 millimeter shell casings in the street.
None of the four people inside the home were injured, however, there was damage done to the house. Officers found holes in two windows near the front door. A bullet was lodged in a wall separating the dining room and kitchen. A second bullet struck a wall in a bedroom were one female was sleeping.
At this time, Officers continue to investigate this case.

Corpus Christi Police arrested 27-year-old Lawrence Roberts (8/30/1988) for possession of marijuana and a theft from an adult video store when he was stopped for riding his bicycle the wrong direction on the access road of Interstate Highway 37 Wednesday afternoon.
A Corpus Christi Police Officer saw Roberts ride his bicycle on the access road against the flow of traffic at 3pm Wednesday afternoon and conducted a traffic stop. The Officer discovered Roberts had marijuana in his pocket and arrested Roberts for possession of marijuana. The Officer then discovered an inflatable life size doll in the likeness of Miley Cyrus in a backpack carried by Roberts. The Officer knew of a theft at an adult video store located at 7430 Interstate Highway 37 which was called in to Police ten minutes prior to the stop with Roberts.
Another Corpus Christi Police Officer took the report from the store and learned that the Miley Cyrus inflatable doll valued at $49.95 was stolen by a person who matched the description of Roberts. The inflatable doll was returned to the store.
The Officer issued a “Class C” citation for theft to Roberts because of the amount of the stolen merchandise and then delivered Roberts to the city detention center for the arrest accusation of possession of marijuana.

A 56-year-old man reported damage caused by gunfire to his red 1998 Chevy Camaro which was parked on the 900 block of Oriole, to the Corpus Christi Police Thursday morning.
Officers responded to a shooting at 3:00am on the 900 block of Oriole and met several people outside their homes and a car with damage from gunfire. Officers said they believe some shots went ricochet off the car hood and struck a residence. The three men inside the home told Officers they were not injured. Officers had the 900 block of Oriole closed to traffic for two hours while they gathered evidence. Officers were provided estimates of vehicle damage at approximately $5,000, house damage approximately $500 and garage damage at approximately $200. No injuries were reported and no suspect has been identified.

A 28-year-old woman reported a burglary to her home on the 800 block of Oriole Wednesday evening. The 28-year-old woman told Officers she returned home from work at about 6pm and found her front door was open and her television, sound equipment, and gaming system were gone. The 28-year-old woman pointed out damage to Officers and said that it appeared her door was forced open. The 28-year-old woman estimated the value of the stolen property at about $3,000 dollars.

A 51-year-old man reported damage to a business to Corpus Christi Police in what the 51-year-old man said he believes was a failed burglary attempt that caused more damage to the burglars vehicle than what was taken from the business Wednesday morning.
The 51-year-old man told Corpus Christi Police Officers he discovered damage to his building after the 51-year-old man received a call from his alarm company and went to investigate. The 51-year-old man pointed out that the front glass doors to his building were destroyed and there was a large hole in the wall on the side of his building. The 51-year-old man told Officers he believed the value to repair the front glass doors was about $700 dollars, and then estimated the cost to repair the wall was about $30,000 dollars.
The 51-year-old man showed video of the cause of the damage to Officers and there was a truck driven into the glass door which caused the damage. The video shows a man get out of the truck and learn there was a metal barrier that prohibited entry into the building. The video shows the truck then drive to the side of the building and then strike the wall with the back of the truck to cause the hole in the wall. The video shows the man get out of the truck and try to gather some items from inside the business, but those items were fastened with a cable lock system, so the man got into the truck and left without having any loot.
The man in the video is described as a male, wearing blue jeans, red button up shirt, and a red baseball cap. The truck in the video is described as a white Ford F-250 which now has damage to the rear of the truck. The man has not yet been apprehended by Police.

Corpus Christi Police arrested 42-year-old Leticia Perez (3/9/1973) for Driving While Intoxicated and Eluding/Fleeing Police after a hit and run crash with a parked delivery truck at Saratoga and Everhart yesterday.
A Corpus Christi Police Officer was flagged down by a person on Saratoga at noon and the person alerted the Officer of a van which travelled in the wrong direction on Saratoga Boulevard. The Officer found the van as it travelled in the correct direction of travel, and the Officer was alerted by another Officer that the van, a red 2005 Chrysler Town & Country minivan, was involved in a hit and run at Saratoga and Everhart. The Officer activated his lights and sirens to signal the operator of the van to pull over, but the van continued to travel until it stopped at the 6200 block of Strateford Drive. The Officer met with the operator of the van, Leticia Perez, and determined Perez was intoxicated. The Officer stated in his report that Perez was not cooperative and obtained a warrant to collect a blood specimen. The Officer arrested Perez, took Perez to the hospital to collect a specimen of blood, and then delivered Perez to the city detention center accused of Driving While Intoxicated and Eluding/Fleeing Police.

A 56-year-old man reported a suspicious person at his business located at 1736 Staples Street Tuesday morning which prompted Officers to discover identity crimes with 26 victims.
The 56-year-old man told Officers he called Police because a man parked a silver 1999 Volvo in the parking lot of the business, went inside to ask about paint, then abruptly left the store while an answer was provided. The Officers saw the vehicle in the parking lot with the windows open and rain fell to the interior of the vehicle. The Officers attempted to learn who owned the vehicle and discovered evidence of identification believed to be collected for fraudulent use. The Officers impounded the vehicle and collected the evidence for further investigation. Police Detectives believe they know the identity of the man in this case. The man has not been located by the time of this report.

Case Number: 1601250152 Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to a fight where six males believed to be gang members beat another male with sticks, and had music turned up loud to cover screaming. Officers said they saw several people run to the back of the residence and jump a fence. Officers said Sky Cashat (4-7-78) ran from the scene and was caught and arrested for the evading arrest or detention. Officers said they found a 23-year-old man hanging his head out of the house yelling for help. The 23-year-old man was found to have several injuries to his head, including a large gash on his forehead. The 23-year-old man was transported to the hospital for his injuries.

Corpus Christi Police arrested 57-year-old Dino Mileto (6/1/1958) at a convenience store located at the 700 block of North Staples Monday morning for stealing a car from an auto dealership after tips from people who are homeless.
Corpus Christi Police responded to the downtown area to search for a stolen red 2014 Ford Focus after several people called from charitable organizations to say that Mileto had stolen the car. A Corpus Christi Police Officer found Mileto (who also has no permanent address) at the convenience store located at Staples and Leopard with the vehicle. The Officer detained Mileto and contacted the car dealership located at 4721 Ayers Street and learned that the car was left with the keys in order to be collected by another person and taken to auction. The Officer believes that Mileto saw the car with the keys and took the vehicle without permission, so the Officer arrested Mileto for the accusation of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. The vehicle was returned to the dealership representative and the Officer delivered Mileto to the city detention center.

Corpus Christi Police Narcotics and Vice Investigators arrested 32-year-old Crystal Maldonado (1/8/1984) Friday afternoon for manufacturing or delivering controlled substances at her residence located on the 5000 block of Cain Drive.
Corpus Christi Police Department Narcotics Vice Investigations Division, assisted by Directed Patrol Officers, served a search and arrest warrant at 5022 Cain at 3:18 pm Friday afternoon. During the search of the residence, investigators located and seized over 15 grams of crystal methamphetamine and 1.42 grams of brown powdered heroin. Crystal Maldonado (1-8-84) was arrested charged with Health and Safety Code 481.112, Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1, 4 grams to 200 grams, which is a first degree felony.
On January 24, 2016 at approximately 9:20 am, patrol officers responded to the area of 6500 Lyons for a suicidal subject. Officers arrived and attempted to make contact. As officers were attempting to make contact, they heard what they believed to be a single gunshot. At that point the CCPD SWAT and Hostage Negotiations Teams were called to respond.
HNT made numerous attempts to contact the male subject inside but never received a response. The SWAT Team carefully entered the house. Once inside they discovered that the 32 year old male was deceased. There were no other people inside the house. Officers are sill on scene at the time of this post.

Date: 1/21/2016 9:40 AM Location: 800 North Shoreline Boulevard Offense: Forgery P.C. 32.21 Third Degree Felony Case Number: 1601210035 A man trying to cash a stolen check at a bank, located at 800 North Shoreline Boulevard, was arrested by Corpus Christi Police.
Officers arrived after bank employees called to report a man in the lobby attempting to cash a check from a business in the amount of $700. The business listed on the check had called the bank to report the stolen checks earlier in the week.
After bank employees verified that the check was stolen, the man trying to cash it, Kenneth Collette (03/27/1980), was arrested for forgery.

Date: 1/21/2016 2:15 AM Location: 5800 Everhart Road Offense: Assault P.C. 22.01 Class A Misdemeanor Case Number: 1601210015 A 29 year old male victim called Corpus Christi Police after he was hit in the head by another man while several people left a nightclub located at 5850 Everhart Road.
When Officers arrived they found the victim on the ground in the parking lot of the club with a cut to the back of his head. CCFD EMS responded and transported the victim to Spohn South for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Witnesses told Officers that the victim was on his way to his car, after the club closed, when another man, walking behind him, took a running start and hit him in the head with his fist.
The victim fell back and hit his head on the pavement causing the injury
At this time no suspects have been arrested and Officers continue to investigate this crime.
