Case Number: 1601270005

A 51-year-old man reported damage to a business to Corpus Christi Police in what the 51-year-old man said he believes was a failed burglary attempt that caused more damage to the burglars vehicle than what was taken from the business Wednesday morning.
The 51-year-old man told Corpus Christi Police Officers he discovered damage to his building after the 51-year-old man received a call from his alarm company and went to investigate. The 51-year-old man told Officers he believed the value to repair the front glass doors was about $700 dollars, and then estimated the cost to repair the wall was about $30,000 dollars.
The 51-year-old man showed video of the cause of the damage to Officers and there was a truck driven into the glass door which caused the damage. The video shows a man get out of the truck and learn there was a metal barrier that prohibited entry into the building. The video shows the truck then drive to the side of the building and then strike the wall with the back of the truck to cause the hole in the wall. The video shows the man get out of the truck and try to gather some items from inside the business, but those items were fastened with a cable lock system, so the man got into the truck and left without having any loot.
The man in the video is described as a male, wearing blue jeans, red button up shirt, and a red baseball cap. The truck in the video is described as a white Ford F-250 which now has damage to the rear of the truck. The man has not yet been apprehended by Police.
