A 12-year-old girl reported to Corpus Christi Police that a strange man followed and harassed her on her way home from school Wednesday afternoon on the 6000 block of Lipes Boulevard.
The twelve-year-old girl told Officers she walked home after school when a man in his late 20s or early 30s started to follow her. The 12-year-old girl told Officers she attempted to ignore the man, but the man continued to talk to her and eventually began making sexual comments about her appearance. The 12-year-old girl told Officers she became frighten so she ran. A 36-year-old woman told Officers she saw this happen as she drove by on the street and she stopped to assist the 12-year-old girl. The 36-year-old woman told Officers the man drove off and was last seen going towards Staples. The 12-year-old girl described the man’s vehicle as a dark grey or black small hatchback styled vehicle. Officers never located the man and the 12-year-old girl safely made it to her 46-year-old father.

Corpus Christi Police arrested 28-year-old Mario Hernandez (6/4/1987) for driving while intoxicated after he caused a vehicle crash in a parking lot located at 5850 Everhart Road Thursday morning.
Corpus Christi Police responded to a compliant of a vehicle crash in a parking lot at 2:12am and the caller believed the operator of the vehicle was intoxicated. Officers arrived and found a blue 2014 Audi S4 with obvious front end damage and the Officers contacted Hernandez who operated the Audi. Officers determined that Hernandez had struck a tree and there were no reported injuries. Officers believed that Hernandez was intoxicated from alcohol consumption and arrested Hernandez for Driving While Intoxicated. Officers impounded the Audi and took Hernandez to the hospital for a medical evaluation. Once cleared from the hospital, Hernandez was delivered to the city detention center and Officers collected a specimen of breath from Hernandez.

Offense: Burglary of a Habitation (Penal Code Section 30.02) First Degree Felony

A 50-year-old man reported a burglary while he was present in his home on the 800 block of Omaha Drive Tuesday night.
The 50-year-old man told Officers at about 11 pm, the 50-year-old man answered a knock on his door. The 50-year-old man told Officers he is confined to a wheelchair and a man and woman pushed their way into his apartment. The 50-year-old man told Officers the woman pinned him to the chair while the man stole a TV, Xbox, and cell phone. The 50-year-old man described the woman as a female in her 20’s, 5 foot 3 inches tall, about 150 pounds, and man as a male in his 20’s, 170 pounds, and black hair. No injuries were reported and the two suspects remain at large.

Detectives Want Help to Identify a Sex Offender

Corpus Christi Police Detectives would like help from the public to identify and locate a man who is accused of indecent exposure in a parking lot located at 1145 Waldron Road on July 14, 2015.

A 31 year old woman reported the indecent exposure to Corpus Christi Police at 1:14pm after she saw a man seated in a car masturbating. The 31 year old woman told Officers the man left prior to law enforcement arrival, but the act was seen by her 11 year old daughter.

Corpus Christi Police Detectives obtained video from a nearby store of the man and would like help from the public to identify the suspect in this crime. The 31 year old woman described the man to Officers as a male in his early 30`s in age and having a slender build possibly 120-150lbs wearing a dark black short sleeve shirt and having bald hair with noticeable hair shaved stubbles on his head inside a blue four door sedan.

Corpus Christi Police Property Crimes Detectives want help from the public to identify and locate the person responsible for a burglary on September 3, 2015 at a business located at 2334 Pollex Avenue.

Corpus Christi Police responded to an alarm at 3:05am and discovered forced entry to the building. Officers searched the interior of the business, but did not find anyone inside. A 49-year-old man with a key to the building told Officers the damage was new and not with any owners consent, and that the safe was forced open with the contents missing. The 49-year-old man made a complaint of a Burglary and provided a copy of surveillance video.

Corpus Christi Police Property Crimes Detectives have images of the man they believe is responsible for the burglary and would like help from the public to identify the suspect. The man is described as a male, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, about 175 pounds, with brown hair, a goatee, thick eyebrows and wore dark gloves, a denim shirt, black hoodie, jeans and dark boots.

A female who reported her trailer stolen back on August 25, saw it being pulled down Flour Bluff Drive by a truck and called Corpus Christi Police.  Officers were able to catch up to the 2009 Dodge Ram truck that was pulling the stolen trailer in the 900 block of Green Bay Street. The driver of the truck, Todd Janes (05/01/1968), was arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and he was additionally charged when it was determined that he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for parole violation regarding a theft charge. The stolen trailer was released to its owner.

A 32 year old female had to run out of her home, located in the 2200 block of Loritte Drive, to escape her boyfriend who was armed with a box cutter and was cutting chunks of her hair off her head. The female ran into the street to escape the assault that had begun inside the home and she was able to call Corpus Christi Police. The female told Officers that the two had gotten into an argument and her boyfriend pulled a box cutter blade out and began grabbing her hair and cutting chucks out of it. The female was able to get out of the house, and run down the road. The male chased after her and caught her and began cutting her hair again. Officers arrived and arrested the boyfriend, Raul Rios (06/17/1969), for aggravated assault.  The female refused ant medical treatment and did not appear to be injured.

Police Arrest Man on Brooks Drive After Stand-off

Corpus Christi Police arrested 26-year-old Quinton Ellison (9/21/1988) for aggravated assault after he threatened people with a weapon and then barricaded himself in a house on the 300 block of Brooks Drive Tuesday afternoon.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a complaint of a disturbance with a weapon a little after 1pm on the 300 block of Brooks Drive Tuesday afternoon. Officers arrived and Ellison locked himself in a home and refused to come out to speak to Officers. A 46-year-old woman, a 28-year-old man and a 25-year-old man told Officers they believed Ellison was under the influence of some type of drugs and threatened them with a large knife, but no one was injured. Officers requested additional resources in order to resolve the situation.

The Corpus Christi Police SWAT Team, Hostage Negotiation Team, and Detectives arrived to assist the patrol officers. The 300 block of Brooks was closed to traffic at about 1:45pm. The Hostage Negotiation Team gathered information in which they believed there were no firearms accessible to Ellison and there was no other person inside the home. Ellison surrendered peacefully at 4:15pm and the road was reopened to normal use.

Ellison was arrested for aggravated assault, a second degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine. Officers delivered Ellison to the city detention center. No injuries were reported that were related to this event.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a report of a female walking near the T.C. Ayers Center in the 1700 block of Winnebago Street bleeding from her head.

Officers located the 30 year old female and observed her to have several stab wounds to her head, face and arms. All the victim would tell Officers is that a black female stabbed her, but would not say why or exactly where it happened.

Officers were able to locate the crime scene in the 900 block of Sam Rankin Street.

The victim was transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital by CCFD EMS with injuries not believed to be life threatening.

The victim refused to answer Officers questions regarding the assault.

A 24 year old man called Corpus Christi Police after his ex-girlfriend attacked him with a baseball bat.

The victim told Officers that his ex-girlfriend was drinking alcohol and was intoxicated while both of them were in the front yard of a home located in the 400 block of Mediterranean Drive.

The victim said that she was trying to show off in front of other friends by talking down to the victim. She also spit on him. She then went inside the home, and grabbed an aluminum bat and struck the victim on the head. The female then got in a car and left.

The victim was transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital by CCFD EMS to be treated for injuries not believed to be life threatening.

Officers know the female suspects name, but she was not located.

Panhandler Public Service Announcement

The Patriot Run Has Been Cancelled

The 2015 Patriot Run has been cancelled due to stormy weather. There will not be a make up run. The Corpus Christi Police Department thanks everyone for their support and understanding.
