Corpus Christi Police responded to a complaint of a burglary at 913 South Port Avenue where unknown suspects made entry to the store by damaging the front and back door. They took 300 bottles of assorted pills worth an estimated $30,000.

The moped did not stop for the officer for several blocks. The Officer arrested 26-year-old JoAnna Garza (12/7/1986) for Driving While Intoxicated, Evading Arrest, and for No Insurance.

Corpus Christi Police responded to the 4700 block of Kosarek Drive for a found child. Upon arrival the Officer located a 2 yr old boy playing outside unattended. The Officer knocked on a few doors and located the boy’s grandmother who was upset that her 2 yr old grandson had gotten out. She explained the 2 yr old recently learned how to unlock the locks. She will have her husband install a new lock that is higher on the door.

Corpus Christi Police Officers investigated a private parking Accident with minor injuries Wednesday morning when they saw a woman running out of the store chased by Loss Prevention for Academy. An Officer chased the woman when the loss prevention employees yelled that the woman just stole from the store. The Officer followed until the suspect showed her intent to cross the freeway. At this point the Officer stopped chasing the suspect. A friend of the suspect was detained, but an affirmative link to the act of theft could not be established. She was identified and released at the scene. The woman crossed the freeway and remains at large.

Corpus Christi Police arrested 26-year-old Louis Rosales (8/11/1987) for theft after Rosales was kicked out of a bar for his level of intoxication. Rosales went into a bar and bragged about stealing an electrical meter from another bar. The bar staff kicked out Rosales and Corpus Christi Police Officers found Rosales walking on the sidewalk at 3555 South Padre Island Drive. Rosales was arrested for Public Intoxication, Theft, and for Resisting Arrest. The value of the meter was $1,500 dollars.

The Officer had an ambulance check 30-year-old Ashley Nerios (3/4/1983) for any medical condition and then Nerios was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.

A 32-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man were arrested Wednesday night for unlawfully carrying weapons and possession of controlled substances after the prohibited items were discovered on a traffic stop at Bluebonnet Drive and Old Robstown Road.
A Corpus Christi Police Officer initiated a traffic stop at 10:14pm when a silver 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis travelled into oncoming traffic. The 32-year-old operator of the car, Kristi Moya (11/8/1980), had an invalid driver’s license and no insurance on the vehicle. The Officer conducted an inventory of the vehicle in preparation for impound and discovered narcotics and two illegal knives.
Moya and the passenger, 33-year-old Jessie Longoria (7/30/1980), were arrested for the unlawful weapons and the narcotics, and then delivered to the city detention center.

Corpus Christi Police conducted a pedestrian stop on a 26-year-old man at a hotel parking lot on Leopard and discovered he carried prescription pills not prescribed to him. 26-year-old Eric Deleon (5/19/1987) said he was unsure that there was anything illegal in his pants pockets because he had just put on the pants. Deleon was arrested for Possession of Dangerous Drugs and delivered to the city detention center.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a vehicle crash at the intersection of State Highway 358 at Interstate Highway 37 Thursday morning and arrested 29-year-old Raymond Vela (1/16/1984) for Driving While Intoxicated. Vela drove his blue 2004 Hyundai Tiburon 2 door car into the concrete barrier at 3:16am. No other vehicle was involved and no person was injured. Vela was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation and to collect a specimen of his blood, and then delivered to the city detention center.

Corpus Christi Police Homicide/Robbery Detectives are asking the public’s assistance to help identify the suspect responsible for holding up a Stripes Convience Store employee on Sunday, August 11, 2013. The clerk gave the robber an undetermined amount of money.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, 20 to 25 years of age, 5’5” feet tall, and weighing 170 to 190 lbs. He was last seen wearing a yellow striped shirt and white shorts and fled in a white Chevrolet truck.

Corpus Christi Animal Care Services along with PAAC volunteers invite the public, rescue groups, and charitable groups, to attend the Rachel Ray 100K Challenge Event this weekend 08/17 and 08/18 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.
As the end-of-challenge event, adoption fees of all animals will be reduced as follows:
“9 Lives for $9” (all cats)
“Drop a 10 and bring home a friend” ($10 all dogs)
These prices include spay/neuter, city registration, micro chipping, and age appropriate vaccinations.
Included in the weekend event will be family friendly fun and games; bounce house, balloons, hotdogs, dancing and much more. Entry to the event is FREE. A 47-year-old man was arrested Tuesday afternoon for burglary from a motor vehicle after he took a purse from a car at the gas pumps at 2002 Morgan Avenue. Corpus Christi Police responded to a complaint of a theft at 1:07pm. A 37-year-old woman said a man took her purse from her green 2003 Nissan X-terra while it was at the fuel pump. While on his way to the call, a responding Corpus Christi Police Officer saw 47-year-old Stephen Arellano (1/21/1966) who matched the suspect description a few blocks away. The Officer stopped Arellano and found that Arellano had the 37-year-old woman’s purse. Arellano was arrested and then found to be in possession of marijuana. The purse was returned to the woman and Arellano was arrested for Burglary from a Vehicle (a Class A misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail and up to a $4,000 fine) and for Possession of Marijuana (a Class B misdemeanor punishable by up to 6 months in jail and up to a $2,000 fine).

A Corpus Christi Police Officer was injured and a 31-year-old man was arrested for assault on the 2600 block of Elgin Street Tuesday afternoon. Corpus Christi Police responded to a complaint of a disturbance at 2:11pm Tuesday afternoon. 31-year-old Juan Medina (9/6/1981) threatened officers and became violent. One Officer suffered an injured shoulder in the struggle to arrest Medina. Medina was arrested for Assault on a Public Servant (a 3rd Degree Felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine) and for Resisting Arrest (a Class A misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail and up to a $4,000 fine).

An 18 year old man was arrested Tuesday night after he broke into a home on the 200 block of Pearse Drive and took valuables by force. A 24-year-old woman told Corpus Christi Police her 29-year-old husband went to the store leaving the 24-year-old woman with her 4-year-old child. The woman saw two men dressed in all black force open the front door to her home at 11:30pm. One of the men displayed a handgun and took about $1,000 dollars worth of valuables from the home. The woman recognized one of the men as a person who had been in the home several times.
18 year old Victor Campos (3/7/1995) was located on the 2800 block of Sabinas Street and arrested for Aggravated Robbery (a 1st Degree felony punishable by up to 99 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine). Campos was also arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, and Resisting Arrest. Campos was then delivered to the city detention center. Police are searching for the other person with Campos at the time of the Robbery. The suspect is described as a man who wore all black clothing.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer initiated a traffic stop at 12:17am Wednesday morning when a light blue 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis made an improper turn at Kilgore and Gollihar. The vehicle traveled a distance in disregard to the emergency lights from the patrol car. Once the vehicle stopped, the operator, 32-year-old Edgar Pena (10/21/1980) was arrested for evading arrest, driving while license invalid, and fail to maintain proof of financial responsibility.
