Police want your help to find a missing 83 year old man

Corpus Christi Police would like help from the public to locate an 83-year-old man who went missing Wednesday afternoon from a home on the 500 block of Southern Street. Family reported to Police that 83-year-old Jose Carmen Marquez left the house to go to the store, and had not returned. The family called Police after Marquez was absent for two hours and they could not find him.

Marquez is described as wearing a gray and white shirt, and gray shorts, stands 5 feet 7 inches tall, is 163 pounds and has gray hair and brown eyes. Family reported to Police that Marquez only speaks Spanish and is physically disabled.

Police Want Help From Public To Locate Missing Person

Corpus Christi Police Detectives would like help from the public to locate a 21 year old woman reported by her mother as a missing person.

A 45 year old woman reported her daughter, 21 year old Breanna Wood (3/8/1995) missing on Tuesday to the Corpus Christi Police. The 45 year old woman told Officers she last saw Breanna on October 11, at 950 Stone Street. The 45 year old woman told Officers Breanna speaks with her daily until October 11 and Breanna left her cat unattended; both characteristics that are unlike Breanna’s normal behavior. Corpus Christi Police believe Breanna was seen at the PMI on Tancuhua Street with a 25 year old man. The 45 year old woman is concerned and would like help to reconnect with Breanna.

Breanna is described as a 21 year old woman who stands 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighs about 100 pounds, and has black hair and hazel eyes.

Anyone with any information to locate Breanna should have Breanna contact her mother or call the Corpus Christi Police Department at 886-2600.

Man Steals $7,000 Dollar Ring From Jeweler

A 42 year old man reported a theft from a jewelry store on June 24, 2016 in which a man stole a ring worth $7,000 dollars.

The 42 year old man told Officers that he is employed by the jeweler and at 5:10pm on Friday, June 24th, the 42 year old man showed a ring to a customer who requested a closer look. The 42 year old man told Officers the customer grabbed the ring from the 42 year old man’s hand and ran out of the store. The 42 year old man told Officers the ring is valued at $7,000 dollars.

Detectives were provided video images of the suspect and now want your help to identify him. The suspect is described as an adult man who wore a dark ball cap, stripped shirt, tan shorts, and sandals at the time of the theft.

Man Steals Several Pairs of Glasses From Eye Care Store

A 29-year-old woman reported a theft at an eye care store on September 8 to Corpus Christi Police.

The 29-year-old woman told Officers she is an employee at the store and she saw a man walk into the store and talk on a cellular telephone. The 29-year-old woman told Officers she saw the man casually talk on the phone, grab several pairs of expensive eye glasses frames, and then walk out of the store without paying for the frames. Detectives have obtained video of the man who stole the frames and now want help from the public to identify the man.

Man Threatens Suicide and Caused Store to Evacuate

Corpus Christi Police conducted a warrantless emergency detention on a 33-year-old man who threatened suicide and caused a store located at 5515 Staples Street to evacuate all the customers.

Corpus Christi Police received a couple calls from the 33-year-old man who cried out for help and threatened suicide. The man made no threats to others, but made it clear that he did not want to continue life. The man refused to provide his location to Police. A Corpus Christi Police Patrol Supervisor called the man and learned a description of the man and information that led the patrol supervisor to believe the man was a gun store located at 5515 Staples Street. The patrol supervisor called the store and was told a man matching the description was on the premises. The patrol supervisor requested all the customers and staff except the man meeting the description, evacuate from the store. Once the store employees and customers were out of the store and safe, the patrol supervisor called the suicidal man back and learned the man who remained in the store was in fact the same as the man who called Police earlier in the day.

The man in the store was alone and did have access to weapons which merited the Corpus Christi Police SWAT team and Negotiation Team to respond. Corpus Christi Police closed Staples from Williams Drive to Holly Drive to all traffic. The Negotiators established dialogue with the 33-year-old man and after two hours of speaking with the 33-year-old man, he came out of the store and surrendered without any injuries at 7:40pm.

The 33-year-old man was taken to a hospital for a mental evaluation and to introduce him to resources to provide him help. No injuries or  property damage was reported.

Police Respond To Disturbance When Man Locks Himself In Downtown Hotel Room

Corpus Christi Police responded to a disturbance and talked to a man for two hours before he came out of a downtown hotel room this morning.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a call about a disturbance in a downtown hotel room at 10:15am Friday morning and found a woman locked out of that room on the balcony and unable to leave. The Corpus Christi Fire Department used a ladder apparatus to allow Officers to bring the woman to safety. The woman was not injured. Once the woman was safely on the ground floor, the man remained in the hotel room alone and the on duty SWAT members set up and the Hostage Negotiation Team established a dialog with the man. There were no threats to the public and the man finally opened the door and met with Officers at 12:20pm. Officers found no unlawful circumstance in this event. The man was released with no criminal charges.

Man Steals $2,000 Dollar Necklace From Jewelry Store on Video

A 47-year-old man reported a theft that happened at the La Palmera Mall on August 16 to the Corpus Christi Police Department.

The 47-year-old man told Officers an unknown man came into the jewelry store at about 8pm and tried on a $2,000 dollar necklace and acted interested to buy the necklace. The 47-year-old man said the unknown man then ran out of the store with the necklace without paying for the merchandise. The unknown man has not been located by law enforcement and Detectives would like help from the public to identify the man.

Police Want Help From Public To Locate Robber

Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to a series of armed robberies and want your help to catch the man responsible. The suspect in each case wore a blue hoodie, blue baseball cap and a grey handkerchief. The suspect displayed a silver handgun and demanded cash and cigarettes.

None of the clerks were injured in the robberies. Detectives have obtained images of the robberies from two of the locations and now want your help to identify the person responsible.

Man Steals Money From Post Office

Corpus Christi Police are investigating a theft at a post office that happened in the morning of September 1, 2016.

A 60 year old man reported the theft to Corpus Christi Police and explained that he mistakenly left behind money at the counter of the Port/Ayers Post Office. The man told Officers when he returned to the counter several hours after he left the money, the cash was gone and not turned in to Post Office employees.

Corpus Christi Police Detectives obtained images of a person they believe may have taken the money which was left at the counter.

Help Police Find Missing 8 Year Old Child, Last Seen in the Area of Gordon & Reed Near Ray H.S.

Corpus Christi Police are searching for an 8-year-old boy who has been missing since 3:30pm today. The 8-year-old boy is Nathaniel Emmanuel DeLeon and he was last seen in the area of Gordon Street and Reed near Ray High School. Nathaniel is about 150 pounds and he was last seen wearing a black shirt and black shorts. His family is between residences right now and may have gone on the wrong bus, or left on the wrong bus stop from school.

Child has been found thanks to the community searching for him. He is safe and unharmed and with his family now.
