Police received a call for service for a shirtless man wearing black gloves acting strangely as he tried to wave passersby down. A check for warrants revealed Ruben Mendiola (01/28/61) had an outstanding warrant.
Mendiola was arrested and charged with a Motion to Revoke Probation warrant out of Montgomery County for Murder.

A suspicious Chevy Cavalier parked in the alley between Buddy Walker Furnishings and the Granite Granite store along with a trail of vomit led Officers to a man passed out in the driver’s seat. An open beer can in the center console. Eric Ramirez (10-28-78) was found sound asleep with the motor running.
Officers turned the engine off and attempted to wake up Ramirez. After some shaking and shouting Ramirez finally woke up. He appeared to be intoxicated and was administered Standard Field Sobriety Tests and a Breath Test. Ramirez was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated/Open Container.
Occurred on 6/8/12, 01:04 a.m. Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle 5560 S. Padre Island Drive 1206080014
La Palmera Mall reported one of their maintenance golf carts stolen from the mall. Officers found the suspect at 5560 S. Padre Island Drive. Further investigation revealed James Trego (03/05/80) had stolen the golf cart, but left it at a nearby Subway after the front axle broke.
According to Officers, Trego was lost and trying to find beer. Trego was positively identified by a mall security and arrested. He was charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle which is punishable by up to two years in jail and a $10,000 fine.
Occurred on 6/7/12, 5:00 am Aggravated Assault 14305 S. Padre Island 1206070031
Officers were called out to Farah’s Bar for a disturbance and contacted bar employees in the parking lot. One of the females was very distraught and appeared to have been assaulted. Bar employees told Officers the suspect had assaulted his girlfriend, punching her in the face and pushing her to the ground. The suspect then assaulted another employee who intervened. A bar employee contacted the owner who returned to the bar to check on the victims’ welfare only to become a victim himself. The suspect armed with a rifle threatened to kill the bar owner. As the Officer was talking to the group he observed a male armed with a rifle approximately 30 to 40 feet away walking into the bar.
Officers apprehended John Alvarez (1105/83) after he walked out the back door of bar and attempted to escape via the Anchor Resort next door. Unbeknownst to Alvarez, Officers were waiting for him. Alvarez was arrested and the rifle was recovered. He was charged with Aggravated Assault, Assault, and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon on a Licensed Premise. Alvarez was also found to have an outstanding warrant.

Corpus Christi Homicide/Robbery Detectives are asking the public’s assistance in locating a missing elderly suffering from a medical condition. Claude Wayne Hallmark, 61, was reported missing by his daughter who told Detectives she talks to her father on a daily basis. The calls abruptly stopped on May 31, 2012 and she has not heard from him since.
Mr. Hallmark drives a 1999 red Dodge Ram pick-up truck. Officers responded to the Walgreens in Annaville for an alarm call which advised Officers there were two suspects involved, one suspect in the store and a lookout standing outside the pharmacy. Officers rushed to the Walgreens, arriving within minutes, but the suspects were already gone. The suspects shattered the drive-thru window with an ax and gained entry into the pharmacy area of the store. Video surveillance shows two suspects with dark clothing being choosy in the pills taken. It is believed over 1,700 pills of Hydrocodone was taken in the burglary.
During a recent Corpus Christi Against Loss meeting, loss prevention officers and local business owners were informed of the Walgreens pharmaceutical burglaries throughout the state. Officers had also received an alert of the pharmacy burglaries and were being watchful of local pharmaceutical businesses on their beats. It is unknown at this time if there is any connection to the other Walgreens burglaries.

Occurred on 6/8/12, 6:30 am Possession of a Controlled Substance 1016 S. Brownlee
Early Wednesday morning, the residents at 1016 S. Brownlee received a wake-up call from the Corpus Christi Police Department’s Narcotics Vice Investigations Division who along with the SWAT team and the Gang Unit served a search warrant at the residence. Officers made a safe entry into the home and seized 1.5 pounds of Marijuana, 22.99 grams of Cocaine, and 8.39 grams of Methamphetamine. Also seized was a 1995 Lincoln Town Car, a sawed off shotgun, a stolen assault weapon, and $2,346. in cash.
The following were arrested and face multiple charges:
Richard Nathan Trevino (08/05/89) was charged with Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm
Dolores Trevino (03/22/72) was charged with Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance
Esnea Ortiz (09/08/91) was charged with Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Marijuana

Corpus Christi Police Department Homicide/Robbery Detectives following up on Crime Stoppers tips have positively identified the a 20-year-old Corpus Christi woman responsible for an aggravated robbery at the Wal-Mart located at 1821 S. Padre Island Drive. Detective L. Garza obtained a warrant for Miranda Nicole Cisneros (06/13/91) who was charged with three counts of Aggravated Robbery, one count of Child Endangerment, and one felony count of Criminal Mischief. Her bond was set at $450,000.
On Saturday afternoon, Cisneros was apprehended by Wal-Mart’s store loss prevention officers as she shoplifted baby clothes and other household items. A pregnant Cisneros seen carrying her young daughter escaped their custody. She was able to enter her vehicle and attempted to drive away, but store employees caught up to her. As Wal-Mart loss prevention officers tried to persuade her to return to the store, she reversed out of her parking spot, knocking down and dragging several employees. Cisneros’ escape was unintentionally blocked by another car traveling in the opposite direction, but she managed to wedge her vehicle between it and a parked vehicle making good her escape.
A total of 6 people were injured with two of them being taken by ambulance to Spohn Memorial. The most serious injury was a fractured pelvis. Homicide/Robbery Detective L. In support of the City Hall Neighborhood Improvement Initiative, the Corpus Christi Police Department Narcotics Vice Unit conducted two separate search warrant operations on Tuesday afternoon. The City Hall Initiative is a cooperative effort between several city departments to improve living conditions and eradicate drug dealing in the neighborhood surrounding City Hall. The target area is bordered by Staples Street to the east, Laredo Street to the south, S.H. 286 on the west, and IH 37 to the north.
At approximately 2:30 p.m., Officers with the Police Department’s Narcotics and Vice Investigations Unit simultaneously served search warrants at 508 Mexico and 315 Josephine Streets, resulting in the arrest of one man and the seizure of a substantial amount of crack cocaine and over $1,500 in cash.
At 508 Mexico, Narcotics officers discovered that the target of the warrant, Jesusa Martinez (DOB: 03/18/93) had been arrested the night before by patrol officers while in possession of 23 rocks of crack cocaine. During the search warrant, Narcotics officers located a shotgun and uncovered several Code violations. Code Enforcement Officers assisted during the warrant and began an immediate investigation into the violations. The landlord told Officers he would begin eviction proceedings against Martinez.
Officers at 315 Josephine found Jonathon Terrell Finklea (DOB: 03/15/81) in possession of 28 grams of crack cocaine and $1,552 as well as some ammunition. Finklea was arrested and booked at the City Detention Center. Finklea’s landlord also agreed to begin eviction proceedings against him.

Narcotics Vice Investigations Unit Captain David Cook said he is confident that with the continued diligent work of his unit’s personnel, the drug dealing problem in the area will be significantly diminished. Cook stated, “This police action is only the beginning of a concerted effort by the Corpus Christi Police Department, Code Enforcement, Solid Waste, and the Graffiti Unit to address the ongoing quality of life issues in the area.” Cook added that his officers have obtained an additional 11 arrest warrants for suspected drug dealers in the City Hall Initiative area; officers will continue to serve the warrants throughout the coming days and weeks.
Corpus Christi Hit and Run Investigators advised the female responsible for running over a 39-year-old man on May 29, 2012 has been charged in his death. Early that Tuesday morning, the victim and his brother were walking eastbound in the 10300 block of IH 37 when he was struck. The driver fled the scene.
Hit and Run Investigators following up on tips were able to obtain an arrest warrant for Tabatha Elliott (08/22/79) yesterday afternoon. Elliott who had previously been questioned by investigators and arrested on an unrelated outstanding warrant on May 29, 2012. At approximately 4:44 pm, she was booked at the City Detention Center for a Motion to Revoke Probation warrant out of Brenham, TX.
Elliott was additionally charged with Accident Involving Injury or Death is a Third Degree Felony and is punishable up to 10 years and a $10,000 fine. Her bond was set at $175,000. Hit and Run Investigator D. Schwartz advises, “to get a ride or cab if drinking. There is nothing worse in police work than to notify a family member that their loved one has been killed or injured.”
