Internet Crimes Against Children Unit and FBI Make Arrest

The Corpus Christi Police Department Internet Crimes Against Children Unit and Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation executed a search warrant at a home located in the 4700 block of Waltham Drive this morning.

This was the result of an ongoing investigation into an on-line solicitation of a minor by a 26 year old male suspect who lives at the residence.

The suspect, John Phillip Willis (09/10/1988), was arrested for On-line Solicitation of a Minor, a second degree felony.

Corpus Christi Police responded to the report of a shooting in the courtyard area of an apartment located at 933 McDonald Street.

When Officers arrived they determined that a 38 year old man had been shot once on the side of his abdomen by an 18 year old male suspect that he knew.

The investigation revealed that there was an ongoing dispute between the two men and the younger man had threatened the older man during a phone call earlier. The older man told him to come on over, and when the suspect showed up a short time later, he was armed with a handgun.

After a physical fight, the suspect went and got the weapon from the vehicle that he had driven over. The victim was shot one time on his right side by the man.

The offender fled the scene and was not located.

Officers did locate the weapon used in the shooting in a alley behind 709 Flour Bluff Drive.

The victim was transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital by CCFD EMS with non-life threatening injuries.

Corpus Christi Police responded to an alarm at the Food Mart, located at 11001 Leopard Street, and when Officers arrived they found the front glass door had been shattered.

An employee met Officers at the store and when they went inside they found that the suspects had entered the store, and opened the cash register. Luckily employees had left the register empty, so no cash was stolen.

A hammer believed to have been used by the suspects to smash the door glass and force open the register was found inside the business.

Officers are attempting to work with the business owner to download the store video surveillance system.

At this time there is no information on the suspects, and damage to the business was estimated at $1,000.

A 50 year old man called Corpus Christi Police after his girlfriend poured gasoline on him and his vehicle after a disturbance in the driveway of their home in the 2400 block of Winnebago Street.

Officers arrived and were told by the man that he left the home and went to the grocery store. When he returned, and was still in his truck, the female approached him and wanted to be let in.

When the man refused to let her in his truck, she grabbed a can of gas that was in the bed of the truck and she began to pour it all over the hood and roof of the vehicle. The man said that the gasoline began coming in his window soaking him, and burning his skin.

Officers arrested the female, Alisia Lewis (08/25/1988), for aggravated assault.

23 Pets Find New Homes

Several bags of dog and cat food was collected during an event that encouraged animal adoption yesterday at Animal Control Service on Holly Road.

23 animals left Animal Control on Sunday, and in exchange for no adoption fees, a bag of dog or cat food was accepted.

Volunteers worked from noon until 5 PM getting animals adopted out.

Thank you to everyone who took time out of their weekend to come to our facility to help get our animals into new homes.

A 25 year old male motorist called Corpus Christi Police after another man in a passing vehicle pointed a gun at him as they both traveled west along the access road of South Padre Island Drive near Weber Road.

The victim did not know the suspect, and he did not know what provoked the man to point a gun at him. The victim followed the suspect at a safe distance and called police as the vehicles traveled south on Weber Road.

Officers were able to catch up to the suspect when he pulled into the parking lot of the HEB Store, located at Weber and Holly Road. The suspect who displayed the gun, Dominique Beasley (11/28/1991), was arrested for aggravated assault. He was also charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon when Officers located the .9 millimeter caliber handgun in the center console of his truck. He was additionally charged with delivery of marijuana, a state jail felony, when Officers found three bags of marijuana in a backpack inside the truck.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer on patrol through a motel parking lot, located in the 3600 block of Leopard Street, found a wanted person out of San Patricio County.

The Officer observed a parked Ford Explorer in front of a room at the motel. The vehicle was registered to a person that was wanted for an outstanding arrest warrant for sexual assault that was issued on August 26.

The Officer was able to confirm that the man was staying at the motel by checking with the front office. The wanted person, Daniel Billman (02/27/1973), was arrested after he answered the Officers knock on his motel room door.

Two Suspects Break Into School

Corpus Christi Police Detectives have released camera surveillance images of suspects that they believe broke into the Tuloso-Midway Academic Career Center, located at 7601 Leopard Street, early Wednesday morning.

An employee arrived at work and found a door to the building had been forced open.

Officers went inside and observed damage to several classroom doors. The doors had been forced open and the classrooms had been ransacked.

A television and at least four laptops were stolen from different rooms.

On one of the video clips, two male suspects are seen prying open one of the doors to the school. The other video clip shows one of the two suspects inside the school,  entering a room and looking through a cabinet.

The suspects in this case has not been identified and Detectives need your help in solving this crime. Anyone with information about this case should call the Corpus Christi Police Criminal Investigations Division at 886-2840. A vehicle stopped at a red light got the attention of a Corpus Christi Police Officer after the light cycled to green and the car did not move.

The Officer approached the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu and saw that the driver was asleep at the wheel and the car was still in drive.

The Officer knocked on the window several times before the man woke up.

After an investigation, the Officer determined that the driver, Juan Daniel Ramos (07/07/1984), was intoxicated. He was arrested for driving while intoxicated, a felony, and his vehicle was impounded.

Suspect Swipes Handgun From Display Table

Corpus Christi Police Detectives have released a video of a couple that they believe stole a handgun from the table display of a vendor at a Gun Show, held at the Al Amin Shrine Temple, on August 23.

The owner of the weapon told Officers that a male and a female worked together to steal a stainless steel derringer handgun that was on display on a table.

The video shows the male suspect walking in front of the table with a cell phone up to his left ear. The female is seen walking up to the table and then listening to something the male tells her. There is a small handgun on the table, and when the vendor turns his back, the male reaches down and picks up the firearm and walks behind the female to put it in his right pocket

The two suspects are described as being a bald male with brown glasses. He is wearing a light green untucked long sleeve shirt and black pants. The female was wearing a blue top and black pants. She has long black hair and glasses.

The suspects in this case have not been identified and Detectives need your help in solving this crime.
