Officer Thomas Zirkle is recovering in a local hospital after being struck by a suspected intoxicated driver.
On December 23, 2017 at approximately 10:49 PM officer Zirkle was directing traffic for a crash in the 1100 block of SH 358 West bound when he was struck by a vehicle. Witnesses identified the suspect vehicle. Officers contacted the male suspect driver and could smell a strong odor of an intoxicating beverage coming form the suspect. The suspect also displayed other signs of intoxication and was arrested. Orelvis Lopez (04-30-1993) was arrested for intoxication assault with a vehicle and transported to the City Detention Center.

Corpus Christi Police Detectives need your help identifying this alleged burglar. Officers contacted the victim and advised that he came home and noticed that someone had kicked in his back door and ransacked his house. The victim checked his surveillance system and observed a male wearing dark pants and a grey hoodie taking various item and then leave the residence.

The City of Corpus Christi will auction 90cars, trucks, and motorcycles at the Police Vehicle Impound Lot, located at 5485 Greenwood Drive, on Saturday, December 2, 2017. The auction will start at 10:00 a.m.
The general public is encouraged to register and view the vehicles for auction from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Friday, December 1, 2017. The general public can continue to view the vehicles from 8:00 am to 10:00 am on the day of the auction.
The vehicles for auction may be viewed online and an auction list may be downloaded from www.amtauctions.com.

Corpus Christi property crimes detectives need your help identifying these two alleged burglars. Officers were called to the Boat Stop Storage in reference to a burglary. The complainant advised that the suspects (a male and female) pulled to the gate in a hatchback vehicle. The male suspect jumped the fence and broke into a couple of storage units. The suspect took the stolen items, tossed them over the fence and climbed the fence to get back to the vehicle. The suspects then fled the scene.

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to the area of 7900 Caribou Dr. in reference to a disturbance. The call came in from a third party who advised dispatchers she received a call from a female about a fight. Officers arrived and made contact with the 53 year old female suspect. Officers spoke with the suspect and learned that a victim had been shot inside of the residence. Officers checked the house and discovered a 45 year old male deceased in a bedroom. Officers detained the suspect and transported her to the station for questioning. Officers arrested Carla Welch (7-27-1964) and transported her to the City Detention Center. Corpus Christi Police Offices were dispatched to the area of 1400 18th Street in reference to a shooting. Officers arrived and advised that CCFD medics were on scene and were treating a 24 year old male victim that had been shot in the torso. Medics transported the victim to Spohn Shoreline where he succumbed to his injuries. Officers learned from witnesses that a fight was to occur at the location. Witnesses stated that a vehicle drove by slowly, fired several shots striking the victim and then drove away. Officers contacted and transported witnesses to the main police station to be interviewed.
Officers investigated and went to the area of 6400 Everhart to contact a possible suspect. Several subjects were contacted at this location and transported to the main police station to be interviewed. Detectives developed enough probable cause to arrest Tyler Farmer (06-30-1995), James Lockhart (12-30-1998) and Gavin Escoto (01-10-1998) for murder and transported them to the City Detention Center. This is still an ongoing investigation and if anyone has any additional information they are asked to contact the police.

Corpus Christi Police Detectives need your help identifying this suspected burglar. Officers were patrolling and observed a piece of wood securing the front door of the Dollar General had been removed. Officers cleared the building and contacted the manager to review the security footage. A male suspect is observed on camera and making entry in to the store. Once inside he tries to open the cigarette case but was unsuccessful. The suspect walks through the store taking several prepaid cell phones before fleeing the scene. He is described as a tall, thin male. He was wearing a dark short sleeved t-shirt, white Jordan brand shoes and carrying a blue duffle bag with white lettering.

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to the 13600 block of Northwest Blvd. in reference to a burglary of a motor vehicle. Officers arrived and made contact with 43 year old male victim. The victim advised that he went to a bank and withdrew some cash. The victim left and went to a local convenient store. The victim went inside the store and made a purchase, left the store and got into his car. The victim stated that he forgot something and went back inside the store and this time he forgot to lock his door. When he came out of the store this time he noticed that the envelope with his money was gone. Video showed a red Kia Optima pull up to the victims vehicle, a suspect got inside the victims car, took the envelope and then drove away in the Kia. The suspect vehicle appears to be a rental car out of Houston. It is unknown, but suspected that the suspects followed the victim from the bank. Corpus Christi Police Detectives want to remind people to be aware of their surroundings. If you go to the bank and make a withdrawal do not leave the cash unattended in your car. Do not use ATM’s in unlit areas. Try to minimize flashing large amounts of cash. If you feel you are being followed get a description and call the police. With the holiday season approaching it is important to develop good habits to minimize yourself as a victim.
